MrsBri · 10/06/2013 21:48

Yes, bungle! I think it's partly the reason I'm so impatient now. Nothing is comfortable at all. And I'm being grumpy :-(

Add the feet being waggled into my ribs for the majority of the day and I would just like Baby B to arrive now please!

MrsBri · 10/06/2013 21:50

Oh, and it's 7 pineapples for the required amount of whatever it is they contain. Good luck! :-)

Steffanoid · 10/06/2013 21:52

bunglecat, im the same, eddtomorrow, sit sideways on sofa, half lying down, on.hard chair, on soft chair on gym ball,
a bit tmi but sitting on the loo is quite comfy untill your leg goes dead Blush
feet up, feet down, lying down, sitting with feet up on sofa,
cannot for the life of me get comfy, add this with the "had the baby messages" and it's very difficult to be polite

my oh has changed his percentage thoughts, though he still thinks his %age is a good guess SO not helping!

AlohaMama · 10/06/2013 22:22

Arrrgh have a bad feeling this baby isn't going to hold on till the weekend like she's supposed to. Went to docs this morning, and am at 3cm, 70% effaced and everything is nearly ready to go apparently. Bearing in mind last time I had a sweep which started labour I was at 4cm and 80% so not far off what I am now. I'm hoping I can hang on in this state for a few days, but now am trying to decide between resting/taking it easy to avoid starting labour and frantically running round trying to get everything done!!!

pinkapples · 10/06/2013 22:23

Also EDD tomorrow and yup nothing is comfortable all night been having BH but nothing getting regular looks like she's in for the long haul! Hmm

Midwife in the morning don't really know what to expect but hopefully we will come up with some kind of plan... For a sweep at least I hope!

pinkapples · 10/06/2013 22:24

Oh wow aloha! I know its not what you wanted but soooo jealous! I'd probably rest if i we're you as not to hurry things along you never know moving could like you say get things on the move

MrsBri · 10/06/2013 22:31

I don't find the loo comfy due to baby's position, Steff. I'm resigned to not being comfy again until baby is here.

Aloha, I'm really rather jealous of your impending baby! I know it's not what you wanted, but how exciting to meet the new baby :-)

How far along we're you when DS made his appearance?

MrsBri · 10/06/2013 22:32

Were. Sodding iPhone trying to be clever and failing!

Olimoss · 10/06/2013 22:42

Hiya.

Re: feeding, after days in hospital and being fed breastmilk via bottle, Joe actively refuses the actual breast and as such is bottle fed a 50/50 mix of formula and breastmilk. I'm just not going to fight him on it, and also with his operation is v handy to know how much he's eating.

I express bout 160ml three times a day, doesn't seem to be increasing in terms of volume so I'm definitely not going to be able to keep up with him as his feeds (currently bout 80-90ml per feed) increase. Eventually he will be entirely FF and that's fine. I'll do what I can re expressing for as long as I can but figure there's not much I can do otherwise.

redwellybluewelly · 11/06/2013 00:41

Re b2b baboea they can turn just before and during labour so it certainly doesn't mean you will deliver b2b IYSWIM.

Re positioning I had this one at 39+3 and oh boy was I ready, I keep taking deep breaths just for the novelty factor. It was a sad day also when my evening bath stopped being comfortable.

Better day today, milk is coming in and I got some decent painkillers.

AlohaMama · 11/06/2013 00:45

MrsBri - was 38+3 with DS but I did have a sweep with him which got things going. Am now 38+1. DH is hurriedly doing the last few things round the house before the showings this Saturday. I went and got a pedicure (obviously good to get the important things done!!). DS is with his childminder so now I can relax for the afternoon till I pick him up.

SunnyL · 11/06/2013 02:31

Well ive been contracting for 36hrs now. Still not down to the magic 5 minute interval though but getting tired cos everytime i try to lie down and sleep i get another one. I must say the tens machine is really good at taking the edge off.

AlohaMama · 11/06/2013 06:23

Poor you Sunny that is a long time. Hope things get going for you? Or maybe ease off so you can get some rest. Either way, good luck.

I've been worrying a bit that my internal exam this morning may have got things going. At least the BH are now much more uncomfortable than usual, but still fairly irregular, ranging between 3-13 minutes. I'm still fairly convinced it's BH and not the real thing - hurts more, and more pressure down below and kind of cramping but I don't think it has spread round my back. Still, I blame the obstretician - I was fine till she started poking around Hmm

On the plus side, my newly painted toe nails do look rather pretty Smile

And thanks to whoever suggested the childbirth thread from classics. Hilarious. Was trying to read some out to dh but couldn't stop crying with laughter to get the words out!

learnermummy · 11/06/2013 07:38

Oh Sunny poor you really does sound like my first labour Hmm. I ended up going in to be assessed on the end, was only 3cm or so but meant I got my hands on some gas and air! Had epidural in the end though which was fab and gave me a proper rest.

AlohaMama · 11/06/2013 08:39

Grr I wish someone would just say 'this is it' or not. Things seem to be getting more intense here, possibly more frequent but I'm finding that hard to tell as they are still a bit erratic. tmi alert - Loosing mucous plug too (at least that is what dh said when I pointed to the red blobby stuff in the shower going 'eeew look at that'). trouble is, i've been keeping busy and can't work out if the contractions are strong BH from moving position/walking around or the real thing. actually i think maybe this is it. will keep you posted...

can't help but notice the irony. steff/mrsbri etc. are all probably still bouncing up and down on your birth balls and I am wishing this baby would wait. oh well. dh will be gutted he was never even called on to DTD and if anything like last time, that won't be happening for a good few months now either!

Hawkmoth · 11/06/2013 08:50

Good luck aloha!

These babies are in charge now, not a lot we can do about it!

MrsBri · 11/06/2013 09:01

Poor you, Sunny. Sadly it does sound very much like my friend's labour. She swore by her TENS too.

Aloha, how I'd love to see some bloody jelly-like stuff in my shower. Not sure I ever will, being short sighted, even if that did happen though...perhaps it doesn't wash away too well maybe?! Keep us updated as to what happens.

Hawkmoth, ain't that the truth? :-/

My DH has got a week's work now, after a very bleak time, so I'm now willing baby to hold off til the weekend. I'm so damn fickle! No signs yet, so I think it'll be ok. :-) But who knows with babies?

curlyclaz13 · 11/06/2013 09:02

Well OH 'helped' last night and since then I keep having intermittent pains, not sure if they are BH or contractions as such, but about once an hour to 15 minutes and painful enough to have woken me a few times. Not as bad now I am up and out of bed, bit more like bad period cramps. Also noticed a bit of bloody mucus this morning but that night just be from the MW rummaging yesterday as I can't see things having changed so dramatically overnight. (although OH would think it is due to his 'skills' if anything happens)

MrsBri · 11/06/2013 09:06

Yay for you, curly, but boo that DTD hasn't worked for me! :-(

It can cause BH, or it could be the real deal. Keep us updated too.

Come on babies!!

learnermummy · 11/06/2013 09:33

Does sound like the real thing Aloha, you must just have early babies! Good luck!

SunnyL · 11/06/2013 09:50

Wrt DTD today is our wedding anniversary. Think we are destined to be celibate on our anniversary as last year I was overseas with work and this year I'm doing a rather good impression of a cow every 8-10 minutes.

MrsBri I sincerely hope I'm not going to beat your friends 60hour labour but it's not looking god at this point. I phoned the hospital last night when things were 4-8 mins apart but as they were full and diverting to another hospital their advice was to take a bath and paracetamol. Cue me falling asleep in the bath as things really slowed down. So - do I take the dog for a walk to move things along or just wait and see wha the day brings? Getting real cabin fever!

On the plus side I think I can safely say I chose a good husband. He's been lovely. Backing off when I need space and rubbing my back when I clearly need it without even asking.

MrsBri · 11/06/2013 09:53

Poor you, Sunny :-(

I really hope things get moving.

I wouldn't walk the dog though, as you need all the energy you can muster later. As dull as it is, resting as much as possible will be the best thing for you.

And your DH sounds lovely. :-) Maybe next year you'll get an anniversary shag?! I'm not expecting one this year with a 4 month old baby. But you never know!

learnermummy · 11/06/2013 10:19

Agree with MrsBri, rest while you can Sunny. So glad your husband is being so lovely. Sitting on the toilet is supposed to be more comfy for b2b labour, but don't think I tried that.

Steffanoid · 11/06/2013 11:31

maybe going out isn't the best idea sunny, if things ramp up I bet the dog will be thoroughly pissed off with you crouching moping while he's trying to have a good sniff, talk about offputting!

still nothing happening here, bit of backache, have had a chat with my dad in heaven and asked him not to make it Thursday which is his anniversary of dying (the first one) he'd think it would be s good idea and some others that dont know my mum like me would think it was lovely, I know better so am trying to convince dad that if he comes before it will distract mum a bit and if im in labour but dont give birth till Friday then thats ok cause it will distract her too

bouncing about on my gym ball is doing nothing, walking is just hurting my hips, I am getting stretching pains almost right at tge bottom of my bump and still quite a bit of mucous/bits of plug leaving but nothing else really Sad

arlandria666 · 11/06/2013 11:57

wahoooo DS just been weighed again and he has put another 4oz on since Saturday he is only 3oz from his birth weight now :-)
good luck with all the babies who seem to be on the way
