Curious take that weight guide with a pinch of salt. My friend was told at 35 weeks baby was over 8lb. She went into labour at 41 weeks and baby was 8lb 4oz!

TMI ALERT: Can anyone remind me of the difference between a show and your mucous plug or are they the same thing? What should I be looking for? Does it suggest labour is imminent? Nothing more than usual discharge here but want to be prepared. Getting very bad period like pain so not sure if things are starting slowly.

learnermummy · 10/06/2013 14:32

Mucous plug and show are same thing. I've had show once labour started before but think it can vary. Good sign your cervix is starting to soften/dilate.

pinkapples · 10/06/2013 14:43

Baby is going mad today kicking is constant think she may be running out of room! More BH and a few pains but nothing no show but lots of discharge oh the joys of impending childbirth

Steffanoid · 10/06/2013 14:50

I've been losing little bits of my plug here and there, dont think all of it though cause theres been no blood in it,

I've got a sweep on Thursday due date tomorrow, im.really hoping the baby is prompt and arrives on his due date, my oh keeps saying you do know statistically he's most likely to arrive on his edd, he's gonna end up getting hurt if he keeps saying it

people are all getting death stares when they tell me to relax and make the most of the time cause it's never gonna be the same, which is lovely, but this pg has currently given me bad hips, swollen huge feet and bad hands,I've been sat 'chilling' since coming on mat leave/holiday because I can't move, honestly I know what's going to happen when I have the baby, thats why I can't wait, stop telling me to chill Angry sorry rant over

curlyclaz13 · 10/06/2013 15:03

I Can't tell if I hurt from the failed sweep or (tmi ) piles. I am sore ! and sitting on the ball is not helping.
I am feeling sorry for myself today.

MrsBri · 10/06/2013 15:15

Afternoon!

I categorise the plug as losing little bits and the show as almost / all of the plug at once. The plug can regenerate if you lose it in bits, but won't if it is in its entirety, I think! Confusing, but maybe it's me making it so.

Curly, I hope baby comes soon.

And I'd ignore growth scans as well as I've never known anybody to have an accurate one!

I had the midwife again today. All looking good. Both her and the trainee said they think Baby B is long but not heavy. Which I can cope with :-)

I will see her again next week, then she will book me in for a sweep the Tuesday I'm 40+5, which is the week after.

If that doesn't work I'll have another sweep at 40+8, then induction at 40+12.

Come out Baby B.

Oh, still 3/5 engaged too. Sigh.

Steff, statistically baby WON'T come on the due date. Only 5% of babies arrive bang on! Tell your DP he's wrong!

MrsBri · 10/06/2013 15:19

Oh, and yes Steff, if someone else tells me to bloody sleep / nap I'll murder somebody! If I could, I would. But it's bastard boiling and I need a wee every 2 minutes, so it's easier said than done. Grrrrr!

learnermummy · 10/06/2013 15:33

Wish it was warm here, haven't seen the sun since Friday Hmm.

MrsBri · 10/06/2013 15:41

Poor you, learner. It's stunning here. Shame it's a bit too warm for the heavily pregnant.

Steffanoid · 10/06/2013 15:44

it's delightful here as well again, I've spent the day hiding in the one cool room of the house, I dont like warm weather when not pg, it's supposed to be not very nice here tomorrow and Wednesday, can only hope Wink

Sunbeam18 · 10/06/2013 16:15

Adding myself to the 'uncomfortably waiting' brigade... I don't have any clothes that feel comfortable now, and my maternity jeans feel like a vice. We had a bit of excitement on Sat evening as thought my waters had broken as had about tablespoon of fluid escaped (tmi). Hospital advised going in to check but was false alarm and was diagnosed with thrush. Joy. So then had to insert a pessary (massive horse pill attached to end of tampon-like device) when couldn't see what I was doing due to massive pregnant belly. It's all so glamorous!
Come on baby boy, I'm ready now. Am dreaming of normal walking, climbing of stairs, running, swimming!

rrreow · 10/06/2013 16:54

Cluster feeding for those who asked is when the baby basically finishes a feed and then wants another (and another) within a really short space of time. So you're non stop feeding for 2-4 hours. DS1 used to do it from about 9pm-12am which was doable, I'd get ready for bed and DH and I would watch lots of tv shows, then go to sleep. However DS2 seems to prefer his schedule more nocturnal than that! It's quite tough.

Littlemissexpecting · 10/06/2013 16:55

Excellent thanks ladies.
I have done very little today, clean pjs on and in and out of naps while the tennis is on! Hoping my body is getting ready for things to happen, rather than the little man having a growth spurt!!

Littlemissexpecting · 10/06/2013 16:56

Sun beam I know the feeling on lack of clothes that fit, hence putting pjs on today while I'm at home!!

pinkapples · 10/06/2013 18:51

Another pregnant pj wearer here been out this morning then back home and in mine since about 12.30pm did keep my jumper on tho so don't look like I've lounged all day although I have napped and feel really uncomfortable when I move Hmm

Steffanoid · 10/06/2013 19:00

this classics thread has just had me giggling [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/182359-memorable-poos-in-inappropriate-places/AllOnOnePage?reverse=1 ube of poop]

Steffanoid · 10/06/2013 19:01

dammit, poop

redwellybluewelly · 10/06/2013 19:09

Blimey I wish it were warmer here. Chuffing freezing, baby girl has a vest, babygro, two blankets and a hat on! We've had to put the heating on as well!

SunnyL · 10/06/2013 19:24

Not pj's but I'm wearing a beach kaftan over leggings. I even went to the library in this get up. Really don't care about looking like a muppet - its do comfy!

arlandria666 · 10/06/2013 19:37

cluster feeding should be DS's middle name!! from half 8 til midnight i may as well just be a boob lol tonight he has been on since ten past 5 with a 15 minute break! hoping that means he might miss his 3 hour feed at half 8 and just go for the usual 40 mins don't think i am that lucky lol least i know he has found his appetite hopefully we'll have another weight gain tomorrow :-)

AmIGoingMad · 10/06/2013 20:01

Fingers crossed for another weight gain arlandria!

It's so weird how different the weather is across the UK! Poor Rex needing the heating in and last night we had to have windows open and fan on in the hope of getting some sleep. They do say its changing overnight tho.

Maw I'm reconsidering breast feeding at the moment. Like curious it didn't work out for me with DS and he has thrived regardless so makes me feel less anxious about it. I probably will try for the first few days to get the colostrum into this little one but then I'm not sure to be honest. Am determined not to feel guilty about it this time tho. Was talking to DH about it the other day and we both remembered that whilst I was gutted that it hadn't worked last time, I was also relieved as the decision was taken out of my hands and FF really worked for us.

AmIGoingMad · 10/06/2013 20:01

Red not Rex!

Mawgatron · 10/06/2013 20:30

Thanks for all the support ladies, I will give it a go, I think I just had a bit of a wobble this morning. It just seems that everyone finds it difficult!

Had midwife today, ds is ok but another one here joining the back to back ranks. Stupidly got home and started hoogling and then quickly made myself stop. What will be will be, and at least I don't have anything to compare it to- I am expecting it to be fucking hard and very painful, so I am sure I am not going to be surprised! Have spent the afternoon on my yoga ball to try and move him. Unfortunately straddling a chair is a little more difficult because of spd.

Mawgatron · 10/06/2013 20:30

Or googling. Blooming auto correct

bunglecat77 · 10/06/2013 21:34

So much going on at the moment! Congrats on the new arrivals all round Flowers.

Anyone else (who's still pregnant) finding it hard to get comfortable in any position?! I'm 38+2 today and I can't seem to sit, stand or even lie down for long without getting achy. I was quite happy to sit tight until my due date, but if it's going to be like this all the way to the end maybe I'll head out to the shops for a pineapple!
