Hehe steff I'm due Tuesday aswell and like the sound of an alfresco water birth although not with the rain that we've had today after a lush week hopefully it will perk up for the weekend Grin

Steffanoid · 07/06/2013 18:30

gutted, it's still blue skies here in delightful Cheshire Smile

im having plenty of pep talks with this lo, he cannot arrive on Thursday, forgot ive got a sweep booked, it's the first anniversary of my dad dying so its his day and lovely as it would be for it to have something nice happen im really not happy with that idea and would very much like it to happen any other day but that one. things are feeling a bit odd down there so hope this weekend we might get lucky

MrsBri · 07/06/2013 18:37

No rain here either. It's been stunning today.

I really want baby to arrive on Tuesday as it was my late gran's birthday. Not sure he will though.

Quite a few utterly evil BH going on here, front and back :-( I think practice contractions are cruel :-(

Baby's feet really, really hurt now. Not sure I can do another almost 4 weeks of this!

Oh, and as work somehow forgot to start my mat pay I have been given 2 days' holiday for free to save admin! My mat leave now has the new start date of yesterday, or 38 weeks, which isn't so bad. Every little helps :-)

AmIGoingMad · 07/06/2013 18:42

Congratulations Sarah and rreow!Smile

And that's great news on joe coming home oli!Smile

Happy birthday pinkapples!Smile

I had an awful nosebleed earlier which never happens to me. Had blood pressure check tho and all ok. Just been napping in hotel and soon off for food!

Steffanoid · 07/06/2013 22:07

sat on my gym ball willing it to be my lucky weekend, people are starting to ask how long I've been pregnant for now, trying to tell me old wives tales which I have no faith in, old wives tales tend to be garbage says the girl sitting on a gym ball wishing

Hawkmoth · 07/06/2013 23:51

I think I've changed my mind and don't want the baby to come out. I'm happy as I am, apart from the pain, heartburn, insomnia etc etc. I'll just leave it as is I reckon...

Eurgh.

Anyhow, feeling guilty today for taking the shine off impending motherhood for a busy clinic's worth of women. DS was on top form, shouting, climbing, bizarre conversations with his cuddly cow and, best of all, loudly slapping DH and myself. Only one woman laughed, the rest looked suitably scared... As was the doctor we saw!

I really do feel bad for those women getting the first glimpse of their baby on the scan, also getting a massive spoiler for the reality of life with a spirited three year old. I'm worn out.

AlohaMama · 08/06/2013 02:27

Congrats rrreow and sarah and glad you all made it home oli.

Absolutely shattered here. Had photos taken for our house sale this morning, so up early tidying and arranging stuff and trying to keep ds amused. Thankfully that's all done, so just have to have another tidy up on Friday before all the showings next Saturday, then can get on with having a baby!! At least ds napped this afternoon so I could have a lie down and friends are cooking us dinner tonight so I don't have to. Plus dh is doing the food shopping for us. Looking forward to my baby shower tomorrow then hopefully a few days relaxing with ds and dh.

hope things get going for you steff keep on bouncing!

SunnyL · 08/06/2013 02:27

Aww Hawk. I had a similar convo with my neighbour this afternoon who is 39wks with a toddler. She wants baby to stay put for a bit because shes knackered and right now it isnt crying, is feeding itself and isnt really disturbing her sleep.

Right now i'm so excited i can barely sleep just cos i had a bit of show today. Every twinge has me wondering if it is the start. Of course its not helped by DH who keeps texting asking if he needs to come home from work as he really doesnt want to be working this weekend.

Sarah2506 · 08/06/2013 02:57

So post natal wards aren't conducive to sleep. Firstly I have to stay awake all night just to keep an eye in her. Of course. And if I didn't I still wouldn't sleep as all the other babies singing together at the same time would do it for me. Wow. This motherhood business is pretty knackering.

Olimoss · 08/06/2013 06:41

I did the same on that first night in hospital, Sarah! We've kind of done the same here on the first terrifying night at home....he appears to have survived. So far.

Can you get an amenity room? We did, expensive but wrth every penny...

Sarah2506 · 08/06/2013 07:04

I still haven't made it out of bed oli- how long did it take you? Polly settled really well and has slept a lot- just a shame the same can't be said for me!

forgetmenots · 08/06/2013 07:12

Baby boy Forget was born this morning, he is too perfect I have to go and stare at him xxx

MrsBri · 08/06/2013 07:58

Congratulations, Forget! :-)

Can't wait for a full update.

Had your feeling been boy, I can't remember?

pinkbear82 · 08/06/2013 08:01

congratulations everyone - I will
catch up properly soon!

the second night involves a lot of watching too! but worth it all.

Mawgatron · 08/06/2013 09:09

Baby mawg still staying put as well. 38+6 today. Went to a gig last night -thought that might tempt him out but think it just lulled him to sleep.
In a bit of a huff this morning as dh walked me home afterwards and then fucked off out again to meet up with our mates again. Fed up of feeling all tired and swollen and not being able to handle staying out. And wish dh would make a little sacrifice for me. I know I am being selfish and hormonal but it really annoys me. At least I am up early and he is hungover now so I am currently watching the news VERY LOUDLY to get me own back...

So am I right in thinking that is 4 of us left? Or have I miscalculated? I don't think I am on the stats thread as I am a bit of a spanner and didn't understand how to do it...

grainmum · 08/06/2013 09:19

I'm still waiting too - 40 + 4. quite a few BH yesterday but gone this morning. Doing lots of walking and planning nice days with DH who is on leave. Becoming a coffee shop connoisseur!

pinkapples · 08/06/2013 09:23

Congrats to all the new mummies Grin

Had some very painful BH last night but they never materialised only into me throwing up twice last night and as a result I am still lying in bed not wanting to move

MrsBri · 08/06/2013 09:37

Mawg, I'd feel the same if I were you. But men don't think the same as us, so there's almost no point saying anything as it will be met with a blank look!

Looking at the stats thread there's still quite a few of us left, even though it doesn't feel like it!

I'm 38+2 today and just want baby to come out now...we may be trying home induction (DTD) again tonight. DH has gone so long without that he is very keen to keep trying! Hopefully it'll work :-)

There's an NCT nearly new sale in Southport today, though we're not going to get there for when it starts and I bet it'll be manic, so I don't think we'll bother. Which is a shame, but we'll probably find one post-birth more useful as we'll know the sex. I hate crowds when I'm not heavily pregnant, so I've a feeling I'd be less than happy there today!

curlyclaz13 · 08/06/2013 09:41

nothing here still, due tomorrow. Have told OH that I think he will arrive on 13th, to which he said 'I don't want my son born on the 13th !'. I gave him a look and then he said oh mum's birthday is the 13th, gave him another look and got a blank face from him, pointed out my birthday is also 13th. Stupid man, only been together 15 years !

Littlemissexpecting · 08/06/2013 09:44

Congrats Forget!! Thanks
DH and I were planning on dtd last night but I had some strong BH so didn't bother. DH also full of cold so probably best left alone. 38+4 so getting fed up in this heat but DH said last night he would like lo to be late. He must have it too easy ATM.
Off for a swim but I'll be back later. Have a good sat everyone Smile

learnermummy · 08/06/2013 10:02

Congratulations forget! Thanks

38+3 today and DH and I did have a go at 'home induction' last night, but nothing has changed Grin. Think a week late would suit better!

massagegirl · 08/06/2013 10:03

Congrats all those with new arrivals! Two weeks in and it's getting a bit easier... Fingers crossed. Enjoy your lickle babies.

AmIGoingMad · 08/06/2013 12:55

Congratulations forget! Do you have a name yet? Hope all went well!Smile

I'm another one still hanging on in there but I am a bit behind most being 37+4.

The heat isn't great for me but its so nice to see sunshine that I can't really complain too much!

Think I'm actually getting some bh now as they woke me in the night.

Having our belated babymoon at the moment so am nice and relaxed for a change although I am missing out gorgeous boy who is with his grandparents for two nights.

redwellybluewelly · 08/06/2013 14:09

Have had a rough 48hours, baby welly doing very nicely and feeding every 2-3hours then sleeping most of the rest of the time except for midnight and 4am which are her wriggle times.

We're still in hospital though because I've not been very well. Been a slow recovery from the CS and then a bout of vomiting and diarrhoea. Initially thought it was a bug (and put in isolation) but now they think it was a bad reaction to painkillers and a bleed in theatre which in turn caused a blood pressure drop. Being sick with a great big wound across your tummy is my new leasr favourite thing!

Congratulations to the new babies and hope those remaining aren't kept waiting too long.

Congratulations forget!

I'm pleased to say that M has finally been discharged by the MWs, so we're at the mercy of the HVs now. He's not quite at birth weight, but only 30g shy of it, and the MW today said she wasn't going to quibble, he's put on loads of weight this week so she wasn't fussed about the last bit.

PHEW! :o I'm sooo glad that's over. Now to relax and find our groove!
