Hi pink I'm waiting on a verdict too - nervewracking isn't it, I'm so sure baby would be happier just coming out now :(
Hope you're feeling okay Flowers

arlandria666 · 06/06/2013 06:14

Steffanoid · 06/06/2013 06:15

hope everythings ok pink and forget, I think at this stage it's quite possibly a case of better out than in, shame you've got a heartbeat all over the place but with any luck things will all go ok, you'll both meet your LO's soon and be able to spend all the time in the world with them Thanks

pinkbear82 · 06/06/2013 06:24

good luck forget and pinkbear. hope babies are both well and that you'll have them in your arms in the morning.

MrsBri · 06/06/2013 07:06

Good luck forget and pink. And I agree that whatever is best for baby is the plan to choose. Shame there's so much waiting involved in it :-/

Can't wait to be told that your babies are here safe and sound.

MrsBri · 06/06/2013 07:08

Oli, it's great to hear that you and Joe are recovering well. He sounds like a determined little boy :-)

I really hope he gets to go home with you sooner rather than later.

learnermummy · 06/06/2013 07:10

Best of luck forget and pinkbear xxx

AmIGoingMad · 06/06/2013 07:26

Good luck Pinkbear and forget! I hope you're closer to knowing what's happening now and that you have cuddles very soon!

Oli- good to hear that you're both recovering. I hope joe gets to come home soon.

Aloha thanks for checking!

And red I'm the same worrying about how DS will cope with such a big change to his world. He's currently only child and only grandchild.

forgetmenots · 06/06/2013 07:34

Thanks all... Fingers crossed (and lots of good thoughts coming your way pinkbear!) :)

Hawkmoth · 06/06/2013 07:39

Thinking of you both today pinkbear and forgetmenots. Hope you get your plans in place soon.

pinkapples · 06/06/2013 07:47

Good luck pinkbear and forget keep us posted Grin

Sarah2506 · 06/06/2013 08:43

I love that every morning I log on and there is a lot of baby news! Good luck all.

oli I'm pleased you are doing so well. Are you at home and travelling in to visit joe? Or are you both still in? Your CS info is very helpful. I was wondering how having a catheter works with the need for maternity pads and the bleeding? It all sounds quite involved! I like the idea of not needing to worry about needing a wee in the first day. Though I am worried about needing a poo- I have chrons disease so this is quite likely! Also where did all your stuff go while you were in theatre and recovery? We will have three bags, a pillow and a fan and no car to leave them in!

I'm off for my pre op today. I'm really hoping to get the green light for tomorrow!

AmIGoingMad · 06/06/2013 08:55

Good luck with getting tomrw agreed Sarah! Fingers crossed!

Littlemissexpecting · 06/06/2013 09:08

Good luck forget and pink bear. Sarah hope your pre op goes well today.
I've got mw this morning to check my bp as mw worried its too high. Any ideas to help lower it?
I've been getting quite a bit of period pain last couple of days and BH getting stronger so hopefully things are slowly starting but lo not fully engaged yet. Still only 1/5 engaged, 4/5 of the head can be felt so another 4/5 to go.....
Moses-basket to be brought into our room today so that will be odd!
Feel like I've missed loads on here recently, so apologies to all, I've not been on here very much lately (still issues with Internet).
With regards to snacks for hospital is everyone putting them in your actual hospital bag or a separate bag? I didn't know whether to pack a little bag for DH with the snacks, a change of clothes for him, the camera etc? Snack wise we have Pringles (thanks to whoever suggested them!!), pack of biscuits (to dunk in tea), pack of prunes, energy glucose tablets, bottle of squash, still lucozade and might put some capri-sun in the freezer. Also got some drinking straws in my bag. Subway next to the hospital so DH hoping he can go there if he's hungry!

curiousgeorgie · 06/06/2013 09:18

Wow, it's so real when there's more baby news everyday Grin

Good luck to all...

I've had gestational diabetes this pregnancy and been eating a very boring no carbs & no sugar diet since about 15 weeks... My snacks for hospital are going to be cookies, chocolate and a tuna sandwich on white thick bread!! It's what I'm clinging to Wink

(My local m&s sell cherry bakewell flavour cookies! I've actually dreamt about them!)

pinkapples · 06/06/2013 09:47

I'm only 4/5 to little miss Hmm but that was 2 weeks ago may have changed now feel like I'm on the toilet all the time!

pinkapples · 06/06/2013 09:48

Oh and good idea on the biscuits to dunk will add them! Local co op is 20 pace away so I'm not packing to much as I can send hubby out Wink

Steffanoid · 06/06/2013 10:06

you dont have to stress too much about the head engagement guys, my mw is very keen to stress that it can pop in and out of being engaged but also you can be in.labour without a head engaged at all so dont stress Smile

I've got a hospital bag and a labour bag, the hospital bag is just incase I have to stay in, labour bag has a big t shirt, clothes for bubs, snacks etc hth

is anyone else getting really restless? I keep waking quite a few times overnight and can't get back to sleep again or just feel really wide awake, thank goodness for my phone else id just be sat in bed wide awake with nothing to do.

im really hoping this baby shows some signs of arriving soon, I can feel movements right at tge bottom of my stomach - cervix area im guessing, feels like he's wriggling his head in place- feel a huge amount of pressure and then thats it Sad just hurry up little boy, I want to meet you already!

MrsBri · 06/06/2013 10:07

Good luck, Sarah :-)

We have cereal bars, chocolate bars and peanuts as snacks. McDonalds is close by if we are desperate!

For drinks we have water, apple Capri Sun and still Lucozade.

38 weeks today and willing Baby B to exit as he's clearly out of space. His feet live in my ribs. He feels VERY tall indeed as I can feel his head push into my pelvis as he shoves upwards. I didn't even know my uterus went as high as his feet were this morning! :-/

RueDeWakening · 06/06/2013 10:49

Oli - nothing like having a LO in NICU to get you up and moving after a section! Hope Joe carries on improving and gets to come home soon. DS1 was a big fan of removing his NG tubes etc fairly regularly - he used to get told off by the nurses for doing press ups in his incubator too :o

Forget & Pink - good luck! Hope you have your babies with you safe and well soon, I love getting all these updates every day.

Red - I'm equally happy to share section experiences if it would help, PM me. But I think (hope) you'll be surprised at how you can cope with it all. Just be careful not to pick DD up when she comes to visit! And take all the painkillers you're offered, both in hospital and after you're sent home.

All this talk of snacks is making me hungry, thank goodness for breastfeeding else I'd be about the size of a house by now!

Olimoss · 06/06/2013 11:51

Thanks everyone, you are v v kind with all your well wishes. Joe is doing great. I however have dodgy guts & am not allowed near the unit for 48 hours - sucks so bad!

Best of luck for you guys in early labour - exciting!

Sarah - they moved our stuff from the booking in bed to recovery so it was all waiting for us, then moved again when we went to the ward. They kind of tape the catheter to the inside of a thigh and so it's not in the way of knickers or pads or anything. In recovery I was nekkid from waist down and the midwives in there just come and check & change the padding for you. I'm usually a v private person but found it was all so pragmatic that I had no probs with it.

Will any parentals be visiting in your first day? If so, I'd get them to bring in the pillows, etc. we really didn't use anything from the bags till right at the end of our time in recovery, when we put Joe in a onesie suit for the transfer.

I did say I could walk from recovery to ward, bout 80m or so - in retrospect that was ambitious - was in bit of a cold sweat by time I arrived! But fine. Also the wards are so effing hot I just craved cold fruits and salads when there, before the whole Joe-gets-sick thing started. I didn't really bother with hospital food beyond the breakfast toast.

learnermummy · 06/06/2013 12:57

Glad to hear joe is doing well Oli. Rubbish that you're banned temporarily though Hmm.

Just been for my 38 wk appt and they don't want to see me til 41 wks for a sweep! All very real now! Due date week is do full of school appointments now I could really do with an early baby - do u think she's listening?!

Sarah2506 · 06/06/2013 13:08

Green light for tomorrow! Holy shitting crap bag. This time tomorrow I will be someone's MOTHER.

learnermummy · 06/06/2013 13:09

Yay! Great news Sarah! So excited for you (and just a bit jealous!).
