dontmind hope you get some rest and manage to wake sleeping beauty occasionally for a feed

ami I've never said when the operation will be Grin only my DH and DD's carers know other than myself and medical staff! Given I know early on a CS was likely I wanted to keep at least some element of surprise for family and friends.

DD very upset and anxious this evening, we read her favourite stories and she was really upset at bedtime. The gift I ordered her from new baby arrived damaged so now the replacement won't be here in time. Gutted.

At least DH has tomorrow off to do chores, hopefully also go out to lunch and take a walk if not too hot.

I'll have to find a picture of her heels, Sarah, as I've not seen them yet.

I don't often wear them as I'm already 5'11" so don't need them!

Aloha, I'm going to try to sleep now, but between the lightning crotch and thigh spasms I'm not sure how well it will go! And now my lower back is joining in. Hmmm. I hope it decides if this is it soon too, or bogs off :-)

I've taken a paracetamol. W00t!

And now baby appears to be trying to position himself straight up and down. This is the most uncomfortable I've been all pregnancy!

I'll let you know what's happening when I know :-)

Hawkmoth · 04/06/2013 22:48

MrsBri... Agree re BH. I'm finding it harder and harder to appreciate them as practice and preparation. I don't mind the pain if something is actually happening, but days of niggly pain seems stupid and pointless. Grr.

Congratulations on the new arrivals.

My swelling got worse after giving birth, just for a few days. Try to enjoy the novelty of leaving fingerprints in your legs... Or not!

redwellybluewelly · 04/06/2013 23:14

hawkmoth just saw your. Reply to me, Dd is a year younger than your ds. Was cooler bu the time we got out of nicu (mid August) but bloody wars the weeks leading up to it were just stupid hot - not enjoyable at all and certainly contributed to mt swelling up like a balloon.

Wonder how many more babies there mugjt be by morning? !

AlohaMama · 04/06/2013 23:20

Urgh post-birth swelling, I remember that. No swelling all pregnancy then boom, big elephant ankles. Most distressing.

Hawkmoth · 05/06/2013 00:12

Actually, there were a few nice days when we took DS away for his first birthday redwelly.

Going to be tough to sleep tonight. Someone has smuggled a half brick into baby and it's shoving it at me from the inside. I seriously can't think of another explanation for the size, shape and hardness of what's poking out of my belly right now.

rrreow · 05/06/2013 00:21

Grrrr DH is snoring and now I can't sleep!

AlohaMama · 05/06/2013 00:44

rrreow that's what elbows are for accompanied by innocent expression/feigning sleep

thedevilisinthedetail · 05/06/2013 02:58

Edward born at 9.20pm last night. Back home and heading for sleep. Induction all good. I'll try and post full story later.

Steffanoid · 05/06/2013 03:38

congrats devil I love the name Edward Smile

pinkapples · 05/06/2013 04:53

Awww congrats devil (also love Edward) and glad everything went ok for you

Swelling still going strong here even tho I had my feet up all day and now I'm up and can't get back to sleep! Not good on the upside went to bed at 11 and only just got up for a wee which is good as have been getting up 6/7 times a night so I'm very impressed

BH still coming and going but nothing to write home about just yet sadly and yes agree with baby being smuggled in some kind of implement to torture me with jabs here there and everywhere and solid lumps and bumps which I can only assume is a bottom!

MrsBri · 05/06/2013 05:30

Congrats, Devil. Love Edward...it's actually our boy's middle name if we're team blue! :-)

Nothing more happened overnight, sadly. Though I think my bits have been assaulted from the inside as they don't half feel sore and tender. Hmmm!

I agree on the brick front too. I've never seen the position Baby B took up in the bath last night before. His arse is certainly bonier than mine!

Breast feeding class today. Perfect location for labour to start / carry on!

Pink, I slept through for about the same length of time. Nice, isn't it?

Steffanoid · 05/06/2013 06:27

how you guys slept that long I dont know, I had the most restless night, accompanied by dreams of Christmas shopping Confused

at one point I work every 1/2 hour, not even for needing the bathroom. Think im gonna be tired tonight!

AmIGoingMad · 05/06/2013 07:11

Congratulations devil! Lovely name too!Smile

Well it's a shame you non sleepers weren't in my house this morning. Maybe then you could have entertained DS at 5 while my body was still very happy to let me sleep! Currently watching peppa pig feeling hard done by ( me not DS!)

Redwelly I hadn't realised you hadn't mentioned the date but I'm thinking it must be very soon. Hopefully you can take some comfort from dontmind's experience which seems to have been positive.

Has anyone been taking raspberry leaf tablets? Friends keep saying I should and I've bought some now but can't decide whether to actually take them or not!

Am hoping for a productive day today ( although its very likely it'll include a nap) and ironing might be easier with the lions on- not sure how I'll concentrate on both at once tho!

ginauk84 · 05/06/2013 07:43

Yes been taking raspberry leaf tea tablets for about 3 weeks - don't know if they are doing any good though?

Congrats on baby edward! Smile

learnermummy · 05/06/2013 08:00

Congratulations Devil! Sounds like it went very smoothly.

AmI, I'm currently taking 4 raspberry leaf tablets a day. Drank the tea last two times and tablets preferable.

I usually sleep fine but was very restless last night Hmm.

learnermummy · 05/06/2013 08:11

See the story on the news today that we should now avoid cosmetics, moisturisers, new furniture, plus many more to prevent our unborn babies coming into contact with nasty chemicals!!!!

MrsBri · 05/06/2013 08:26

Maybe we should bring back confinement?!

It's bloody ridiculous all these things they say to avoid.

curiousgeorgie · 05/06/2013 08:51

Congratulations Devil :) Hope everything went perfectly!

I'm so jealous of everyone not pregnant anymore!! SPD is making me wake up in agony everytime I try to turn over in bed and I'm just done now... My friend just had her son at 34 weeks and they came home the next day!!

Mawgatron · 05/06/2013 09:03

Ditto on the spd night time trauma. It isn't too bad during the day but it is getting worse at night. Doesn't help that I a weeping more too- more get ups= more agony rolling onto my back and then sitting up and swinging legs out of bed...

In terms of cooling during labour, I have ordered this:
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B005F1Q5I0/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?qid=1370418850&sr=8-8&pi=SL75

Haven't tried it yet but hoping it will be better than just a mini fan. Also, when I went on the tour of the mlu it was BOILING, and with the heat the way it has been I suspect it will be nigh on unbearable.

Got quite annoyed this morning about yet more scaremongering stories for us preggos. I mean really, as if there isn't enough shit for us to worry about without them adding loads more bollocks for us to be scared of.

Another non heel wearer here. I'm 5'9 and can't walk in them anyway (nothing to do with the fact that dh is pretty much exactly the same height as me either).

More congrats to ladies with babies!

Mawgatron · 05/06/2013 09:04

Shit, sorry. Here is the link actually working:
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B005F1Q5I0/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?qid=1370418850&sr=8-8&pi=SL75

forgetmenots · 05/06/2013 09:15

Wow congratulations on all the babies, I am struggling to keep up! :) lovely news one and all!

Was awake most of the night with period pains and nausea, so can only hope something is going in the right direction...

learnermummy · 05/06/2013 09:40

That fan looks good Mawg. I'm currently making do with one of the kids' sponge bob square pants fans!!

bunglecat77 · 05/06/2013 10:01

Massive congratulations to everyone who's had their babies so far - very exciting! I wonder who's going to be next?

I'm really annoyed about this morning's news item too. So fed up of people saying 'do this, don't do that' without saying how risky it is. How is anyone supposed to make a decision about a risk without real research or data? Hate the way it all gets pushed onto us - I've had a real nightmare trying to get a prescription just for hay fever medication - can't imagine what it would be like if I had something more serious that needed treating.

Grrrr

elsabel · 05/06/2013 10:12
