My DS also has maiden name as one of his middle names, my family all do it with first born boys so wanted to follow the tradition.

TheFalconsmistress · 05/06/2013 13:56

Ds has my maiden name too as his second middle name Oliver Joseph Hamilton Stackhouse i like it but it is long on forms I think Willow will be Willow Skye Stackhouse

Umlauf · 05/06/2013 14:20

Ah brilliant, ill go ahead with it then! It was my family who thought it wasn't very nice, even though its their name! The other family members with maiden names as middle names are Spencer and Harrison so they are both first names anyway.

Your children all have lovely names!

The other problem is that in Spain they give the baby two surnames, the mothers and the fathers, and as we are married the baby would end up with the same surname twice! If I show them my driving license, still in my old name, instead of my passport, I could wangle it so my maiden name counts as my current surname, although he'll be Albert B- B- !!!

Haylebop12 · 05/06/2013 14:41

Love some of your name ideas. Especially Harrison and caoihme. Not too keen in Felix and Casper.

Think we're pretty much set on Isaac David. Told a few people at work who looked at me strangely but my family and friends love it Smile

Hope to hear from legally soon!

Flyer747 · 05/06/2013 15:16

Umlauf I think maybe it sounds like you are putting too much gel polish on the edging that's why it's peeling. All you need to do is paint the thin layer across the width of the nail (at the tip) if you start reapplying more it will be too thick and cause lifting.

Some colours are prone to peeling more than others. I have a pink colour that never seems to go on nicely.

As for over curing yes you can, however it does depend on the product and lamp. With the one I use (shellac) you can't over cure so long as you are using the correct lamp. So I would think this probably isn't the problem here.

Are you doing 10 secs base coat, 2 mins for colour coats, and 2 mins for top coat?

pinkmoonlight · 05/06/2013 16:10

All healthy and normal at the scan today!

Was terrified as they made me have a consultant person due to apparently high NT measurement at 12 weeks (2.3) Hmm They had said that it might indicate a heart condition, which has obviously worried me loads for the past 8 weeks. So relieved that the uncertainty is over and he is ok in there Smile He was, however, asleep upside down and in a rubbish position for pictures- glad we had the gender scan previously or I'd have been so disappointed!

Good luck to my scan buddies today Flowers

Wickedgirl · 05/06/2013 16:19

pink I had that too with an NT reading of 2.9. I was more than a little nervous for my 20 week scan but everything was fine here too. It's nice to be able to relax a little isn't it?

Shirehobbit · 05/06/2013 16:28

Glad all went well today, pink.

Pseudo, I had a little cry last weekend as I realised the due date for my last mc was approaching Flowers

legallyblond · 05/06/2013 16:30

Congrats to all the scans!

And thanks so much for all the kind wishes. I had the stitch put in yesterday under general anaesthetic and came home today. So far so good.. No pain and no tightenings, which is a good sign! Apparently though, in my sleep, I kicked my consultant just as he was finishing up and he nicked my vagina with the needle as he pulled out, so I also had a stitch down there! Nothing at all compared to the episiotomy with DD though! It was all very surreal as I was on labour ward pre op then post natal last night.... Hope not to be there again for at least 12 weeks!!! Thanks again x

pinkmoonlight · 05/06/2013 16:32

Glad all went well for you too wickedgirl. I'm so much more relaxed now that it's over! Let the shopping begin! Grin

Shirehobbit · 05/06/2013 16:55

Smitten1981 · 05/06/2013 17:13

pinkmoonlight · 05/06/2013 18:06

Congrats smitten!

Oh yes... and not only am I expecting a boy, I also have an anterior placenta! x

MotherOfNations · 05/06/2013 18:36

Congratulayions to everyone who scanned today. I can't wait until tomorrow when it's my turn. As Dp can't make it a friend is going to come with me. We're going to make a day of it and meet up for lunch in town first.
I had an appointment with my midwife today and heard my baby girls heartbeat for the first time. Her heart certainly sounds healthy but my mind won't be at rest until after the scan tomorrow.

Smitten1981 · 05/06/2013 18:40

Good luck tomorrow MoN. Make sure you let us know how it goes.

MrsAFlowerpot · 05/06/2013 19:04

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/06/2013 19:48

Great news legally and other scanners.

Legally do you have some time off work to recover and rest? Do you have a time until you are in the all clear? Hope you don't mind the questions. We can all keep our fingers crossed then.

Natalieand · 05/06/2013 19:58

MoN keeping everything crossed for you tommorow then hopefully I can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy :-)

Congratulations to all the recent scannees! I have just found my 1st stretch mark so feeling a bit rubbish about that. Lots of lovely names suggested for these lucky babies. We think we will use Alice for a girl but have no ideas for middle name. I think it needs to be quite long as we have a very short 1 syllable surname. Any suggestions?

PseudoBadger · 05/06/2013 20:19

So pleased it went well legally x

Ruby, I keep thinking I have stretch marks when my PJs or knickers have left red marks on my skin in the morning and have a little "oh no!" Moment each time. No actual stretch marks yet but I have old ones on my thighs and under my boobs from a teenage growth spurt so I imagine I will get them now. My steady pound a week weight gain also seems to be going out the window - 3lb, 0lb, 5lb the last three weeks - and I have not been very good at all about rubbing cream in so I imagine I will be joining you soon. Ho hum.

rubytwosday · 05/06/2013 20:34

I have similar stretch marks on thighs from puberty orange and also very sporadic with belly cream so shouldn't be surprised! Also having serious baby brain day. Wore 2 belts all morning before realising at lunchtime! And not sure why I said "Alice for a girl" in last post... We know she's a girl!

Pannacotta2013 · 05/06/2013 20:52

I got two little stretch marks about an inch or so above my pubic line two weeks ago. It really upset me! It was one of the things I've been hoping most to avoid, and I've been using mama mio products twice a day religiously. I kept thinking if this is what's happening at 20 weeks, what's it going to be like by the end? Anyway, I had put on 3 pounds that week, and haven't put any on since then, and no more stretch marks, so I'm hoping that if I can manage my weight increase slowly then I'll have a better chance. Probably just fooling myself but I live in hope!
