So far our front runner is Harrison. Thinking he'll very likely have this name!
DP's favourite is Orlando- I keep reminding him we live in Sheffield! (He makes a good point that it 'goes' with Savannah though!)
We also both like Freddie, Sebastian and Archer.
Elliott would be my first choice but DP hates it Sad

Why cant it be as easy as naming DD...

roofio87 · 05/06/2013 11:07

I really like Harrison!! threeblondes my boss at work is expecting a baby with his partner and said yesterday if its a girl he wants to call her Ann Field I really hope he was joking!! WinkShock

Wickedgirl · 05/06/2013 11:19

These are a clever idea...... safety wrist bands. I am going to order one and write my blood group inside. I always worry when I commute incase I'm in a nasty car crash. Pregnancy has made me a paranoid freak!

Wickedgirl · 05/06/2013 11:22

My youngest is called Harrison. It is a very cute name

Flyer747 · 05/06/2013 11:25

Claphammama my best friends two boys are called Felix and Casper. She gets a lot of peculiar looks when she tells people their names, like you say 'Felix the cat ' and 'Casper the ghost' although he is Kasper with a K.

Natalieand · 05/06/2013 11:28

I too love the name Casper/kasper my mum thought I was winding her up when I said I liked it

Some ppl r so mean lol

claphammama · 05/06/2013 11:32

haha! What do you think about the name Conrad by the way? The only one we both like so far... I feel it's a very "manly" and strong name, great for a grown man, but worry it's a bit "hard" for a little boy...

Be completely honest please - I wouldn't take offense or be too influenced by negative comments! Just really curious what people think. We will keep the name secret in RL (whatever we end up agreeing on) so this is the only forum I can discuss it on :-)

Natalieand · 05/06/2013 11:47

clapham I'm not keen on Conrad, I'm with u in that it sounds a bit harsh for a baby/little boy xx

Natalieand · 05/06/2013 11:48

Leo was our boy choice in my first pregnancy clapham and dh loves the name Oscar but I'm not sure on it x

Smitten1981 · 05/06/2013 11:51

People really need to get over the Felix the cat, it's ridiculous and no one baby's age would have ever heard of the stupid cat thing so it doesn't really worry me too much.

I'm trying to ignore everyone's opinions on names, I had to tell my mum to shut up and stop being so rude a while back after every name I suggested she pulled a face at. We're not sharing our name suggestions with anyone now because once we've named it they'll have to get over it if they don't like it.

TheFalconsmistress · 05/06/2013 11:55

My mum and mil hate Willow as a name hate it, I could not give a crap I like it i'm having it. I also got Willow the wisp, wtf its 2013 not 1970 no one will call her that but u and Willie as i'm scottish again prob only my folks that will do that as they think they are smart Hmm

Umlauf · 05/06/2013 11:56

I actually know a baby Conrad! His mum is American and his Dad is English. When he says first born I thought it was quite harsh on a baby, but they call him Rad and sometimes Connie which is quite sweet and its grown on me since!

I think that's the thing with names, once they are attached to a little personality the name matches the baby so you can't imagine them as anything else!

roofio87 · 05/06/2013 12:02

does anyone watch 'Revenge' on E4? Conrad makes me think of through evil middle aged business man on that, however I do really like it. quite unusual without just being weird!!

Smitten1981 · 05/06/2013 12:03

Falcons Willow is a lovely name. It would have been on our list but doesn't really go with our surname, Wallace, too many W's and L's.

We both really love the name Hamish, but Hamish Wallace is waaaay too Scottish a name, especially when we're not.

PseudoBadger · 05/06/2013 12:08

Warlin I feel huge (21+4) - but I can still easily see my feet so I know there's a long way to go :o

Our girl will be called (I'm pretty certain - it's our choice from last time too!) Caoimhe Lily (it's pronounced Keeva) :)

Feeling lots of strong kicks today so had a good word with baby that he just needs to stay face forward for 2 days until Friday when I'm having my rescan!!Grin

claphammama · 05/06/2013 12:42

Thanks all. I feel the same - don't want to share our name ideas in RL, also want to keep something a surprise as we've already told everyone it's a boy. So will share them only here!

When I was thinking of Leonardo for DS everyone had so many comments. Some people loved it and some people didn't. Ironically, both our families really didn't like it but we just ignored them and I'm happy with did. As you say smitten, once the baby is born, everyone gets used to it and ends up loving the name.

I want to have a few more on our shortlist though. So the jury is still out!

I'm busy today but itching to go shopping now... may pop out for 30min and buy something for the new baby just to get it out of my system!

claphammama · 05/06/2013 12:43

ps. and also feeling massive for 20 weeks! So much bigger this time. Worried how much more I will grow over the next 20 weeks...!

claphammama · 05/06/2013 12:45

ps2. (I keep posting too early!) *pseudo" what are the origins of your name Caoimhe? Never heard it before

PseudoBadger · 05/06/2013 12:46

It's Irish clapham - DP is Irish and I'm half Irish.

Love the name talk Felix, Oscar and Caspar were on our boys list but DH vetoed for all the reasons that have been mentioned. we both loved Harrison but got nasty comments, which annoys me so much I genuinely dont think I would tell anyone if I felt negatively about the name they wanted to call their baby.

Our little girl is going to be Isla which is what we wanted to call DS if he was a girl. Also bought our first new baby item yesterday just a pink babygrow that says little sister on it. Now I just want to keep shopping Grin

Umlauf · 05/06/2013 12:59

Thanks flyer I'm not sure on the lamp as its at home but its LED rather than UV so I could try curing for longer. It seems to be I don't know how to cap. I watched youtube tutorials and made sure that the gel was on the edge and over the edge, but the over the edge part keeps flaking off (3 more today) which I think causes some peeling. Have asked sensationail and they haven't really got any suggestions! I guess its just trial and error. Can you cure for too long, iykwim?

Harrison is a contender for a middle name here, as its my grandads middle name and DH loves it. In fact, FIL and grandad both have mothers maiden name as a middle name, and so we are also thinking of doing that as my maiden name is a boys first name, quite unusual, Hallam. What do you think? Maybe as a second middle name so Albert Sebastian Hallam Surname?

thethreeblondies · 05/06/2013 13:22

Umlauf Both my DD's have my maiden name as a 2nd middle name (as do I) partly with DD1 as we weren't married at the time and I wanted part of my name in there! Also I liked my surname and didn't want to give it up completly, so they are Olivia Grace Channing Charles and Eleanor Bree Channing Charles! Bloody love their names even if I do say so myself Grin

thethreeblondies · 05/06/2013 13:25

Realise I'm completely outing myself there but hey ho, I'm no one special and at the rate our threads fill up it will dissappear shortly! Smile
