Tarlia · 03/06/2013 13:43

Ps Falcon could you please send me a PM, I cannot work out how! Thanks :)

Audrey2013 · 03/06/2013 14:08

Ladies, do you wear maternity support belts? I keep getting different opinions about them...

Threeblondies so glad your scan went well!

claphammama · 03/06/2013 14:45

congrats on your scan blondies! Please open the envelope!! :-) Do you already have one girl or two girls? Any preference this time round?

I'm scanning tomorrow at 11.30 - I think I'm one of the last ones scanning? Although I know a few other people are also scanning this week. Having been reading about all your scans for weeks, it feels like I've been waiting forever and, now that it's almost here, it doesn't really feel real! I'm sure it will feel real once we are there and hope the baby is not too modest and shows us what it is!

My hormones are really out of control in this pregnancy... I'm losing all sense of perspective and, having argued with DP last night, feeling low again...

thethreeblondies · 03/06/2013 15:02

Have 2DD's Clapham most of my friends and family are in disbelief that I could know but have chosen not to yet We had a surprise with DD1 and knew with DD2 this one will complete our family "picture" and I'm not sure I want to know yet!

Hope your hormones calm down a bit, I've been lucky but I know people that have really struggled so u have my sympathies xx

cuillereasoupe · 03/06/2013 15:08

I bet I'm last - I'm not scanning until the 18th! It's at 22 weeks here for some reason. Sexing scans will be yawnsville by then Grin

Shootingstarsandcomets · 03/06/2013 15:17

I'm scanning tomorrow too clapham. Am a bit nervous already!

Umlauf · 03/06/2013 15:38

Haha blondies I don't know how you will be able to resist that envelope! I'm betting its open by the weekend!!!!!

tarlia 10k crickey I'm well over that already :-( actually I think I've put on less than I said because I gave them an optimistically low starting weight (they didn't weight me, just asked) and I think its likely I was half a stone heavier than I told them, I might see if I can change it!

Squeezed back into my pre-preg (albeit fat day) jeans today with a hair tie closure and feel very positive about it! Also got a lovely maternity top in mAdrid which flatters the bump.

I've asked in style and beauty but does anyone have any idea where I might find a maternity swimsuit that is decent looking and will support big boobs? I'm spending all of August and the end of July by the pool and currently have itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikinis. And I'm being joined by my tiny gorgeous size 6 friend!!!

Flyer747 · 03/06/2013 15:39

Good news about your scan threeblondies, you have more self control than me, I'd have opened the envelope my now if it was sat in front of me....

Sorry to hear about the hormones claphammama, I'm too way more hormonal and irrational than normal...although I think I've always been slightly hormonal haha!

Can I ask ladies with the anterior placentas, I started feeling movements on Friday and have done so everyday since, like popcorn popping sensation, however today I've felt nothing all day, is this normal or should I be feeling something everyday from now on? I'm worrying. I've had 2 glasses of fanta to see if the sugar would awaken it but nowt!

Umlauf · 03/06/2013 15:49

flyer I think I'm a bit further along than you but am anterior too.. I sometimes feel really clear movements and even saw my tummy move the other day, but I didn't have a movement all night and all yesterday and was sooo worked up, until he woke up again when I was at work this morning. I hadn't had such a gap between odd little feelings so panicked, but it could well be that they turn and kick inwards and we don't feel it so much.

Natalieand · 03/06/2013 15:52

flyer I think we r due date buddies 14/10? I'm still not feeling movements on a daily basis and somedays I only feel one or two quick kicks and this is dc2 for me so try not to panic just yet x

claphammama · 03/06/2013 15:53

Thanks blondies and flyer X

I'm also looking for a nice swimsuit so echo umlaf's question. (flyer I'm also going to sweat in Greece in end of July / early August! Do we live some parallel lives...??!)

Just about to go into an important meeting with some senior external people and realised that my boobs keep falling out of my vest... so professional! I'm not used to having boobs so am rubbish at managing them. My normal pre-pregnancy tops are used to my usual A cup and just can't cope with the new size now... Oh well, will try not to move too much!

claphammama · 03/06/2013 15:54

ps. same here with the anterior placenta. I had days without feeling anything.

And yay shooting, my scanning buddy!

TheFalconsmistress · 03/06/2013 15:56

23+1 for me today and i am having strong period like cramps anyone else had this? feeling her move plenty no "bad" signs so to speak its just a bit of a shock!

PseudoBadger · 03/06/2013 16:04

I've got my rescan on Saturday so technically quite late although I've already had one....

OP posts:
Slippysnow · 03/06/2013 16:14

cuille I think you may be the last. I thought I would've been (I'm 13th of June at 21 weeks)

I want to see what's happening inside the bump. I'm so excited

Slippysnow · 03/06/2013 16:20

When I say bump, I'm exaggerating. I'm currently getting bump envy! No movements, no scan, no bump.... I feel like its all a dream :(

Flyer747 · 03/06/2013 16:21

Haha claphammama I think we may have been separated at birth our lives are similar it's uncanny! :-)

Thanks for the reassurance folks, yes Nat I'm 13/10 so practically dd buddies.

On the maternity clothing front I looked on boohoo.com today and they have lots of cheap decent maxi dresses and some loose type shift dresses, so just going to order a bigger size and see, I shall report back. The maxi dresses are £10-20 so cheap as chips and lots of different colours etc

Shirehobbit · 03/06/2013 16:24

Another reassurance from the anterior placenta gang - had the popcorny bubbles for about ten days, and they are getting more noticeable now, but there can be long periods with nothing. (21 weeks today)

Doesn't sound nice falcon - hope the pain passes soon.

Shirehobbit · 03/06/2013 16:27

Ooh that sounds interesting flyer - thanks.
(Potters off to browse Boohoo dresses Smile )

GTbaby · 03/06/2013 16:30

UM. Mw would recommend you to drink a few glasses of cold water. To lay down for half an hour and relax to monitor movement.

Dehydration can cause less movement, and your more likely to become dehydrated being preg. So mk sure your drinking plenty.

Fwiw im 23weeks felt movements about aweek ago and it's not everyday and mostly at bed time.

Flyer747 · 03/06/2013 16:44

Thanks ladies you are all very good at reassuring me (gives everyone a cheesy group hug) will try the cold water tip GT :-)

GTbaby · 03/06/2013 16:55

Support belt. I wear a maternity one for SPD. Not very comfy Hmm

You can get bump bands which offer light support. Like a boob tube for your tummy. I loved mine (from matalan) as I could wear my mat jeans with normal tshirts. And the bear tummy gap was covered with the band and it stopped my mat jeans from falling) It looked like a vest but wasn't, better as it was hot!
Also used it as a boob tube under v neck tops rather then a vest. Again as it was very hot.

Swimsuit wise. I couldn't find a tankini with boob support. So ended up buying a bikini and wore a maternity tankini over it. Bought from debenams online.
All preg women I saw last year went for bikini. I was the only one with my bump covered.

Flyer747 · 03/06/2013 17:00

Debenhams have some lovely swimwear in at the moment, bikinis and swimsuits. I work at virgin holidays which is based inside debenhams and when I'm supposed to be handing out leaflets instore (which I hate) I sneakily go and look at all the bikinis, I've picked all mine just waiting for payday to come...

Smitten1981 · 03/06/2013 17:06

I just bought a tankini and a swimsuit in a bigger size from M&S. I'm in the anterior gang too and have been feeling sporadic 'pops' but nothing concrete really.

I'm trying to find insurance that covers pregnancy for my hol in two weeks, but I can't find any policies that even mention it. Don't want to have to spend ages on the phone trying to call them - any suggestions?

Shirehobbit · 03/06/2013 17:12

I just bought a nice tankini from JoJoMamanBebe along with jeans and a jacket as a birthday treat (also with 15% off through voucher codes - worth a Google if you're interested).
