dakomponist Sounds awful- come over to the Hyperemesis forum if you need someone to talk to www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1655343-Hyperemesis-Support?pg=38- very understanding in there!

I've not bought any fancy pillow, just grabbed a thin-ish cushion off the sofa and it's great :)

Finally our lunch arrived at 2:15 today /me diez. Ate too much too.

frogchops · 27/03/2013 17:34

Cutting an extremely long story short (i apologise- ive put this on so many threads!) am possibly in the position to consider harmony testing. I won't bore everyone with how/why and the details you've already read, but now I'm looking for opinions on this and if anyone has/knows of anyone who has had it. :-/ is it as accurate as amnio?

JammyTummy · 27/03/2013 18:21

Thanks creamtea! I went for mine earlier and it was much the same! Very unexciting. She wanted to book my next appointment on my birthday, which I politely declined and booked for a week after.
ION though, we are finding out what we're having tomorrow! I can't believe it!

JammyTummy · 27/03/2013 18:22

Psfrog yay for you! I have no advice but hope you get this resolved for the better soon!!!

JammyTummy · 27/03/2013 18:36

As a complete aside, I just googled '16 weeks pregnant' and was quite struck when a photo of a woman came up who had no tummy at all! So I went to her website to look at her blog and scrolled through the weeks, and she just doesn't get any bigger! Even her boobs don't look pregnant! Straight away I started wondering if maybe one's been eating too many hot cross buns to end up as bumpy as me... Confused
Here she is at 20 weeks:

BinarySolo · 27/03/2013 18:45

Those photos are nuts jammy! I look like her week 33 picture already and I'm 17 weeks tomorrow. She said she weighed the same in week 34 as week 26. Doesn't sound like healthy weight gain.

Good news about the harmony frog. I think it may be more accurate than amnio but could be wrong.
There was a thread in antenatal tests about it a while ago - don't know if you saw it?

Keepsmilingsunshine · 27/03/2013 19:28

Jammy how exciting, are you the first of us to be finding out?

I seemed to have hit the jackpot with my 16 week apt, she was fab and I was in there for 40 mins chatting away, answering questions, checking HB, measuring etc... To be fair, I think this was more because my MW at the booking in apt was rubbish and didn't do half the things she should have done.

Hope all is still going well Jo and you've managed a good rest today.

Poonli · 27/03/2013 19:54

Hi all - found out today I'm having a boy!! All looks healthy so far. Hubby and I are over the moon :)

Frogs - harmony is 99% accurate but just a blood test. Amnio is 100% but with 1% risk of miscarriage. We opted for Harmony and it came back as less than 1:10,000 which was fine by me! :)

JammyTummy · 27/03/2013 20:06

Ahhhhh Poonli congrats!!! So exciting!

JoCheshire10 · 27/03/2013 20:31

Ahh congrats Poonli-did you find out from your 20 week scan?

Thanks Keepsmiling appreciate it-all going good so far - had a lot of sleep today and back to work tmrw. Working from home tmrw which is good and my manager has told me to work a shorter day so is being really supportive which is good Smile

Looking forward to a 4 day weekend! Grin

Poonli · 27/03/2013 20:52

As I've moved over to consultant led care now, I had a meeting with the consultant who asked if I wanted a scan - I obviously said yes! They then asked if I wanted to know the sex.....

Poonli · 27/03/2013 20:53

I'm 17 weeks 2moro :)

fl0b0t · 27/03/2013 21:16

Ujammy- This link is good as you can scroll through them all!
babyweb.co/2012/06/11/growing-pregnant-belly-week-by-week/

:)

Creamtea1 · 27/03/2013 21:28

jammy just looked at the blog with the pictures, ooooh the woman makes me Angry ! It is just a long, drawn out, smug and not so stealth boast...grr "still in my skinny jeans at 27 weeks" well have a medal why don't you!
RANT :)

Girraferama · 27/03/2013 21:30

I've got an app on my phone called 'Belly Booth' - hubby takes a pic every weekend and you line it up to the shadow of you the week before...eventually we'll have some sort of time- lapse of it growing!

Just been to my first pregnancy yoga class.. Everyone was further on than me (and the woman next to me was 4 days overdue!) - it was fascinating to see all the different shapes and sizes! One lady was 30 weeks and I could barely tell she was pregnant!

frogchops · 27/03/2013 23:09

Omg! I'm at least like her 28 weeks! Only 15 wks on Friday!!

JammyTummy · 28/03/2013 06:23

Well, for what it's worth I love my tummy bump!
And my preggers boobs apart from when they are so itchy! I'd be sad if I didn't start to feel my tummy till more than half way through pregnancy!
Woke up mega early with the excitement, what's it gonna beeee??
17+2 today and baby in full kicking power!

Kittenkatzen · 28/03/2013 07:30

Urgh, agree with creamtea that's the pregnancy blog equivalent of Keira skeletor Knightley in love Actually..."oh I look quite pretty actually don't I". Gah.

Hurrah poonli congrats on your little man! Grin Looking forward to hearing jammies news too later on!

frog no experience of harmony testing at all here, but very happy that you now have an extra option open to you.

I'm 16wks today, have midwife appt at 10am will report back later!

MeanMrsMustard · 28/03/2013 07:38

My bump has grown a lot in the past two weeks. It could still pass for fatness (and im sure a lot of it is!) but I can no longer pull it in and hide it. I've also had return of the nausea and an increased appetite, so my weight gain has sped up and I think is now above the recommended level. I was doing ok until week 16. Too much for 18 weeks though. Oh well.
I'm going to Barbados in the morning (so excited!) I'm hoping the heat and water will help my achy body! I feel like an old woman when getting up from a chair. Im not even going to think about my bikini body! I've always had quite chunky limbs, but a passable hourglass body. Now I'm the owner of ridiculous boobs and a flabby sticky out belly. I'm not beach beautiful, but we're staying on a quiet ish beach, so not too many people to offend!
Hope you all have a good few weeks. I'm looking forward to catching up on details and baby genders when I return. We will have to have a set of questions to test the accuracy of some of these old wife's tales. ( I did a silly on line quiz based on some and apparently answered 14/15 'correctly' for having a boy...)

Eeeknumber3 · 28/03/2013 07:39

Weird dream alert, we all met for mocktails in a McDonald's wearing ball gowns, it was a lot of fun and we sang lots of world war 2 songs...the snow has officially caused me to lose my mind!

Kittenkatzen · 28/03/2013 08:27

GrinGrinGrinGrineek brilliant dream, we totally should make that come true - anyone know any good maternity ball gown stockists?! You might have to teach me some WW2 songs though, all I can think of is the theme to Dad's Army!

mrsmustard have a fab holiday!

jemimahpuddleduck · 28/03/2013 09:22

eek ace dream I will also need to be taught some WW2 songs all I can think of is it's a long way to Tipperary and I'm not sure if that was even WW2.

kitten hope the midwife app goes well had mine yesterday and hearing the heartbeat was lovely.

Had a great night sleep last night so thank you for all the pillow between the legs advice.

Eeeknumber3 · 28/03/2013 10:59

Omg, have just watched One Born Every Minute whilst ironing. Am sobbing. Those poor, poor people...

JoCheshire10 · 28/03/2013 11:11

Eek-bet its awful...I stayed away as knew I'd be a wreck if I watched that episode.... Hmm
