OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
browniechick · 08/05/2006 20:54

Cal - I absolutely paromise you on my life that this is not a wind up. I used cabbage leaves after the birth of ds (last November) and I was sceptical, but my God they worked. The relief they provided was amazing. Trust me, you will not be a believer till you try it.

Good Luck

B

saralou100 · 08/05/2006 21:13

has anybody tried cabbage leaves yet??? i wanna know if it works!!!! as i've said b4 i've heard it's fab when breast feeding and everyone endorsing this idea only mentions it in that context, so will it help us now???? i'm not lactating yet!!! nipples have been better the last couple of days now, i'm avoiding becoming cold though (or excited) :o

calsworld · 08/05/2006 21:26

SarahLou, promise I'll pick up the cabbage tomorrow and let you know...like i've said, I'm desperate for my nipples to stop hurting....!

staceym11 · 08/05/2006 22:48

this thread moves so quickly.

jen im so sorry about your fall, iv probably said the story about a woman i read about in a mag who got run over by a car (both front and then back wheels) on her stomach at about 14 weeks and her baby survived, she didnt look in a good state but the little one held on! fingers crossed for you!

well my parents are home tomo so will have a bit more help with dd so i can get some rest, my mums dying to see the scan picture as well so it wont be too bad about them coming home to only one dog, i still feel really guilty but i know there wasnt anything i could have done!

spent today in my pyjamas so feel a bit yucky but felt relaxed and chilled out on the sofa all day! dd was even good for me and sat and read her books most of the day!

will check in tomo to see how you are jen.

Debbsy · 09/05/2006 08:02

Jen just seen this hope you are ok im sure bump will be fine.If its any concellation one of the girls at work had a similar incident, her and bump were fine good luck (((((((hugs)))))))) oh and she also had terrible cramps straight after the fall she is now coming up to 20 weeks :)

mygirllolipop · 09/05/2006 08:58

Jen - everyone's right bumps are very resiliant, I've fell up and down stairs in every pg I think, had a teenager push another teenager into DD3 as a bump. The pains are prob your muscles but still wishing you the best of luck for the scan.
I have used cabbages but only for BF and can assure you they work. They do get smelly though after a few hours!

MeAndMyBoy · 09/05/2006 09:11

Jen just wanted to add my best wishes for today. I'm sure it will all be ok.

Jen, hope your scan goes well today and puts your mind at rest.

Esmummy · 09/05/2006 11:48

Hi Jen, hope everything goes OK today, sure it will all be absoltuely fine.

Just got back from midwife, had bloods done, seems much earlier this time. i didn't think i had them done utnil around 16 weeks with DD but she sprung them on me today :( I was a brave soldier though and no tears. Roll on scan :)

Delia · 09/05/2006 12:33

Hi All

Just spent the last half hour catching up (phew).

Just wanted to send my thoughts and best wishes to Jen, i'm sure everything will be fine but do let us know, it was lucky you had someone sensible with you to ensure you got up the hospital to give you a check up, i hope it helped to ease your mind a bit, if i were you i would really have a go at the head office and don't give in to easily, they have to ensure your safe at the end of the day (the customer is the most important thing)

Jen1209 · 09/05/2006 13:24

Hi all, thank you for all your messages - they made me cry (damn pg hormones) :o

Well - alls ok! I have a happy 12 + 5 (yup, they moved me forward by nearly a week!) baby who is VERY mobile (wouldn't keep still for the lady to take a good pic!). I am very relieved!

We have also now told all family & friends who are all over the moon (including my gran, who at 82 is entitled to be old-fashioned but just said "oh my God, you clever girl, I'm going to be a Great Granny!!!") so I am a little over emotional now!

Am off now to write the stroppy letter to the Monsoon Head Office! Thanks again for all your wishes

J x

mygirllolipop · 09/05/2006 13:36

brill news Jen!

fatbetty · 09/05/2006 13:37

Jen, so glad to hear that everything is fine with your lo. It must have been such a relief to see him/her bouncing about!

awayfromhome · 09/05/2006 14:02

Great news :)

Tinasan · 09/05/2006 14:04

Brilliant news - I kept popping on here all morning to see if you'd come back from the hospital :) AND they've moved your dates on - bonus!!!

calsworld · 09/05/2006 14:26

Jen, glad you're LO is doing well - looks like you stole my week too!! Hope your knees aren't too sore!

I'm having a terrible time with hormones and MS, I don't think I can really call it MS anymore, it seems to strike between 19.00 and 02.00 - poor DH sat rubbing my back for 45 minutes in the early hours this morning....is this normal?

And I absolutely can't stop crying...I went to work this morning, albeit an hour late but am now back home again with feet up. Found the M&S Strawberry and Vanilla smoothie went down quite nicely....wish I'd bought two!

I've bought some travel sickness bands to see if that helps...fingers crossed coz I'm sick of ginger and can't face it now that i've thrown it up...sorry Sad...

Anyone on line with something to make me laugh?

saralou100 · 09/05/2006 15:29

don't know if this will make you laugh, but i just found ds trying to book porn on the tele, he's 14months, now thats starting early!!!

good news jen :o

calsworld · 09/05/2006 15:53

Oh dear - that is starting young!! Smile

NatalieJane · 09/05/2006 17:16

Hi everyone :)

Jen Glad to hear your scan went so well, I hope your knees are making a quick recovery.

LOL at your DS SaraLou :o Bless him, that will be one of those stories you tell the first girlfriend he brings home!! :)

Everything is pretty much the same here, am getting very bored of being so tired, was hoping I would start to feel better as I am coming up to 12 weeks but no such luck yet. Can't believe I still have over three weeks till my scan...

Hope everyone else is feeling much better :) TC xxx

Hattie05 · 09/05/2006 17:34

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 09/05/2006 19:00

Hi all

Re: thinking it's a dream...

Heard baby's heartbeat today - makes it feel much more real. Also may get an earlier scan as the city have decided to get into the 21st century.

Look after yourselves

Morning all - was advised to buy some 'sea bands' for travel sickness and I have to say, massive improvement in levels of nausea and no sickness for over 24 hours now! Magic cure? I hope so!

Just thought I'd mention it in case any one else was still struggling with it.

What a beautiful sunny day - hope its shining for you all too...Smile
