Evening every one - been awol for ages again. Everything is so busy here. I do read regularly just don't get much time to post so here we go for a huge catch up.

Firstly I am so sorry to hear the sad news for the ladies that have lost their Lo's Kjg, toadstool and megglevache, sending you my best wishes and hope you have plenty of RL support in whatever form you need.

Welcome to all the new ladies, Frangosa, Jooles1234, DesperateHouseWife - I'm so chuffed to see you on here :), LadyAnne1stTimeMum, Debbsy - woo hoo you made it hun, Calsworld and most recently Flowers1.

MummyUpNorth - worrying news for your SIL I hope she is able to get more information soon.

SaraLou - Loved MadWife - it will stick in this house lol, and as for your co-workers - bunch of inconsiderate meanies!

NatalieJane hope the nose bleed is a one off for you. Very impressed with you starting to clear the nursery already.

Hattie glad your fall wasn't more serious, hope you're not too bruised, and great result from your scan.

Awayfromhome, hope you get more info soon and it puts your mind at rest.

LadyAnne - I'm 35 too, but this is number 2 lol. Any news on the is it isn't it Twins debate yet.

Calsworld - Mash and Salsa ugh!!! my weirdest so far has been tuna mayo and horse radish.

Jooles1234 - hope your able to eat again soon, I run a home business selling health and wellness products part of which are meal replacement drinks - might be worth checking the Vitamin A content in them, ours is quite high.

Mygirllolipop hope that you're able to get the sleeping with DD sorted soon I ended up just throwing my rattle out of the pram with DH and told him that DS had to sleep longer in the mornings - was getting up at 5 5.30 am. Every time he got up we just put him back to bed until he got the idea and stayed there - now it's usually 7am which is much more civilised. Good luck though it's not easy especially when you're knackered yourself. Hope her Fat lip is on the mend too.

Flowers1 - hope your scan goes well, they wouldn't even try and listen for the heart beat for me at my first scan, but I could see the heart beating so was happy with that. It's so different in different areas it's amazing.

Phew think I've caught up, hello to everyone else hope you are all doing fine and your MS is starting to subside and the blooming feeling arriving.

H x

Oh for goodness sake that's mad - sorry I promise to keep up more often or not talk as much next time lol

spinach · 28/04/2006 21:00

can't find the info on the normal ranges for triple test anywhere on the web... perhaps I'm searching wrong... if anyone finds them, let me know,. thanks.

OP posts:
Debbsy · 29/04/2006 09:01

meandmyboy yes we certainly did so glad your scan went well.xx

calsworld · 29/04/2006 09:07

Spinach, had a bit of a look round this morning, and got very confused by many of the sites - all very technical. But this one www.webmd.com/hw/being_pregnant/hw1663.asp explains it all a bit better.

I think the reason that there isn't a site with the 'normal ranges' clearly defined is because what is normal varies depending on the age of the foetus, your age, your weight, colour of your skin etc etc.

will continue to browse though as am interested myself and if I find anything more useful, will let you know.

mygirllolipop · 29/04/2006 09:30

flowers - I agree with NJ with my first I was hardly showing at my 20 wk scan! At this stage whether it's your first or subsequent I wouldn't worry about if you can feel a bump. If I manage to go the whole night without peeing I can feel a hard bump in the morning (if I'm lying flat) but that goes as soon as I pee so my bladder must push the LO up and out!
HC - glad the bleeding is nothing to worry about.
Jen - I've always had early scans so I could be seen by a specialist consultant and was never offered any further scans apart from the 20wk one. This time we are under a diff NHS trust and because I was 9+wks I do get another scan at 12wks. If you want the Nuchal scan then they will have to scan you again anyway won't they?
MAMB - touch wood we seem to be able to get DD3 to sleep in her cot on a night but she then sleeps longer if we have her in our bed when she wakes up, but we're slowly getting there. Her fat lip is also healing nicely thank you.

mower · 29/04/2006 10:56

Jen, I also had a scan at 9 weeks and they did not offer me another one till 20 weeks. I am not too bother as it just makes it seem like the time will go even quicker and also heard the heartbeat when I went to midwife on thursday, which was lovely lovely lovely.

spinach · 29/04/2006 12:43

thanks calsworld, i'll keep looking too

OP posts:
mygirllolipop · 29/04/2006 12:44

Forgot to say I have never heard a hb thru a scan, I've seen it on a scan and heard it thru other means but never heard the hb from a scan.
Just had a Subway for lunch! Mmmmmm

awayfromhome · 29/04/2006 13:09

Got some not so good news from my blood test. Apparently my results for the nuchal fold were raised dramatically from 1:6000ish to 1:660 due to very low levels of PAPP-A.

This isn't a problem in the overall down sydrome picture, however, it could point to a placenta problem and potential growth issues with the baby. I had IUGR in my first pregnancy, so I am extremely worried that we are going down the same route as last time. Apart from resting and taking aspirin there is nothing I can do apart from waiting until the 20 week scan to see if the blood flow is okay or not.. so at the moment I'm a bit Sad and stressed.

Plus my very painful tenant has defaulted on his rent and we can't get him out of our house... so in about 6 weeks I will be homeless as well...

Sorry to moan just having quite a stressful time at the moment..

MeAndMyBoy · 29/04/2006 15:39

awayfromhome that's worrying news from your scan, I hope that you don't worry too much. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

The news about the tennant is fairly nasty too, I hope you can get him out before you need the house. I know it takes time though.

amyjade · 29/04/2006 18:36

Hi Everyone.
I'd like to join your thread if you don't mind.
I am 9 weeks +3 days pregnant with baby number 3.
I have two beautiful Dd's but sadly lost my eldest daughter Freya just over a year ago to Pneumococcal Meningitis she was 19 months old.
This year has been a battle to survive without my precious Freya she was my whole world and my life will never be the same without my first born daughter.

When Freya passed away i was 28 weeks pregnant with Dd2 who is now 10 months old, she really has been my reason to go on.
We are over the moon with this pregnancy as it will be nice to give Dd2 a brother or sister to share her life with.

I had a scan yesterday as i'v had slight bleeding, everything looked fine with the baby so that was a relief.
Feeling exhausted and very sick at the moment, it's hard work being pregnant and looking after a 10 month old !!!

Due date is 30th November.

harrogatemum · 29/04/2006 19:27

Welcome Amyjade and good luck with your pregnancy. I shed a tear when i read your post about Freya - my DTs are just coming up to 18 months and I cannot imagine life without them. I am sure your DD2 gives you much joy and so will the new baby though nothing will ever replace your DD1 of course. Looking forward to getting to know you on this thread! Lots of love HM
xxx

Hattie05 · 29/04/2006 19:30

Hello everybody. Not much to report here. Relieved having had my scan - still don't feel pregnant, someone congratulated me today in the street (she'd heard via mutual friend) and it took me a moment to realise what she was congratulating me for! Smile

Congratulations amyjade! So sorry to hear about your daughter Freya, that must be so incredibly hard for you. Best wishes x You can add your details to the stats list further down this thread, just cut and paste and add yourself on.

awayfromhome, sorry to hear about your news! Fingers crossed for you there.

saralou100 · 29/04/2006 20:08

hi every-one, how we all doing??

got to admit, am still really peaved over colleagues, was working yesterday so spoke to one of the hideous people i know made comments and she is now eating humble pie :o 2 more to speak to!!! i know it's not everyone as i've had some fantastic support from others i work with, and as one said i know who my real friends are now!! thanks for all your lovely supportive messages too.... thankfully my sickness is starting to subside, still get the odd wave but it's no longer constant. am also struggling with trousres, button and fly are undone by the end of the day i'm feeling very bloated.. peeing loads too, every half hour in the evenings!!

so on with my catch up.....

spinach - i think you should speak to your madwife about test results, i've also had alook andno-one says what the actual range in figures are as the result is dependent upon so many different factors and how they correspond to you as an individual :)

flowers - the actual "bump" comes from your growing womb and baby, which are sitting down low in your pelvis at the moment, so don't worry if you haven't got anything to show off yet. from my experience when it shows depends upon your origoinal size. with ds i was a skinny moo(9 st wearing a size 10 - sadly no longer Blush)when i was lying down i could see it as a slight bulge, in later stage i was all baby and had a lovely little bump! more memmories that are flooding back

hoping cat - glad your scan was good!! it's some positive news after lots of negative stuff!!

away from home - :( but im sad that your news wasn't so good, how did the iugr affect your last pregnancy? try not to worry too much, just do what you can to help the situation and rest!!

and finally....

hello and crongratulations to amyjade :o:o something to give you even more hope after your sad year!! and their was somebody out their due after me i'm not at the bottom of the list anymore - i'm due the day before you!!

Delia · 29/04/2006 20:37

Hi everyone

Just got in after a really boring day at work, i can think of much better things to do than be there!

welcome AmyJade and congratulations, sorry to hear about Freya, we are all good listners here as you can see so anytime you need to rant or anything go ahead.

Finally got my scan date!!!! on Friday PM so i might actually be able to put my name on the stats soon! So exited. Hopingcat thanks for the tip about drinking to much will definantly be taking note of that one!

spinach · 29/04/2006 20:41

awayfromhome... take it easy, hope you're okay.

my scan was yesterday, all is well... they said i'm a little further on than i thought but havent adjusted dates as only 4 days difference. So nice to see our baby moving around so much, huge relief. I can def feel it moving, no mistake!

staceym11 · 29/04/2006 21:37

HI everyone,

HC, glad that you got good news from your scan, try and rest, it might help!

Awayfromhome, im sorry your news isn't quite so good, try and relax it will do your lo good (i know easier said than done!)

Welcome to amyjade and congrats, i remember your thread about freya and looked at the website, it made me cry so much she seemed like such a wonderful little girl. iv got a dd whos now 18 months, the day after reading about freya i went and got my dd immunised, i felt it best esp. as dd's auntie had the condition when she was younger, but i didnt know much about it until your thread, so thank you so much, you may well have saved my daughters life! They were going to make me pay until the reports about them making it one of the routinely offered immunisations, not that id have minded, you cant put a price on your childs life can you. im so glad you've finally got some happy news, im sure freya will be smiling down at you everyday of your pregnancy and your new baby's life!

Spinach, im glad your scan was good news, its always great to finally see theres acctually something there and you arent imagining it!

Well im good today, not really as sick any more which is lovely and if i am its only about once a day and then it goes, so its definately getting better!

Sorry for going on a bit! hope everyone is ok!

Mummy2Toby · 30/04/2006 00:33

Hiya everyone - once again I am not in bed yet!
Can't seem to get there before 12:30ish - no wonder I am so tired Blush
Big congratulations to Amyjade - welcome to the board, you sound like such a strong lady - Freya's story brought tears to my eyes, my ds is 17 months and I can't even begin to think what you must have gone through. But how wonderful to have dd2 and now baby number 3 in your life Smile
awayfromhome - is there nothing you can do about your tennant? How annoying Angry- I know that is is easier said than done but try not to get too wound up and just make sure you and bubs get lots of rest Smile
Congrats to everyone that had good scans and I really am off to bed now.
Sweet dreams everyone (not rude ones though, has anyone else been having these?)Blush

mygirllolipop · 30/04/2006 09:28

Welcome amyjade and congrats. Saralou will be pleased she's not last in the birthing order anymore! Not that our babies will come out in the order we've wrote down! Like others have said Freya will be watching over you and making sure you're OK.
AFH - can you not start court proceedings against tennent. If you are the owner/mortgage payer you have a right to live there so move in with him! I'm sure he'll move his sorry ass then! But genuinely sorry for your situation.
Saralou - glad you made one of your awful colleagues eat humble pie! Can't wait til you report that the other two are. I do know one person who milked pg for all it was worth but had a terrible sick record as it was. Everyone else I know battles on the best they can.

amyjade · 30/04/2006 12:30

Thanks everyone.x

Just had my first appointment with my lovely midwife. Having a scan at 12 weeks along with the triple and nuchal fold test. Heard the babys heartbeat which was very reassuring, the midwife could even feel the top of my uteras which is amazing at only 9 weeks apparently its something to do with having already had two cesarians.
Looks like this one will also be born by cesarian so it will be born at 38 weeks which will be the middle of November(sorry saralou).

Hope all is well with the rest of you.

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 30/04/2006 13:12

I so jealous of everyone Envy... I've been told that I can't have my first scan until I'm 19 or 20 weeks... so won't see baby until then. Also that this is the only scan I'll get.
Things seem to be progressing - been advised that savoy cabbage is good for sore tits - bit wary of trying it, but two reliable mums swear by it. My MS has progressed to the visual stage - which makes getting up and getting ready for work and an hour bus ride very traumatic - my Lil sis gave me some travel bands - which help a lot. Thought I'd better add myself to list.

Jen1209 · 30/04/2006 15:35

Hi all and welcome to Amyjade - you sound so strong after what must have been a terrible year for you. Many congrats on your pregnancy!

My sickness seems to be fading - haven't actually been sick for around 5 days now. Will be 11 weeks tomorrow. Extremely tired though, all the time and generally feel rubbish! Can't wait to get to 12 weeks and buy some maternity clothes as I am getting so uncomfortable at the moment! Luckily I have 2 pairs of jeans which lace up so I undo the top hole on them! I am living in those and DP's shirts at the weekends...

Awayfromhome - How annoying about your tenant Angry my FIL has dealt with this on several occaisions (he has about 10 flats he rents) but as his are rented through the council, he just puts them onto it. Hope it resolves itself soon.

Spinach - pleased your scan went well :)

fatbetty · 30/04/2006 20:29

Hi All! I've haven't read all the lastest messages so please forgive if I missed out on what is going on.

Made it back to the UK on Friday and it's nice to be home again. Although jetlag is getting the better of me. Have to say though that it's wonderful to come back before a 3day weekend so that DH can catch up with kids and give me some time to recooperate. MS is nearly gone - think it's just tiredness that is making me feel off.

I have my first scan on the 10th and cannot wait!! I'm jealous of all of you who have had your scans or at least heard a hb. Really would like to start telling people now but will try to wait it out til the scan.

Hope you all are having a good bank holiday weekend!!

mygirllolipop · 01/05/2006 09:42
