You are welcome SaraLou :)

TBH it is anything to convince myself that time is actually moving along!!! LOL

saralou100 · 21/04/2006 16:55

i remember with ds me and dp had this little analogy of the stages we were going through and how time moved.. it had to do with the drive from our house back to our families, we live in dorset and they are in london... i don't know if anyone is familiar with this journey but theirs this bit on the a31 which is long and boring and miserable before you get to the m27.... we are on the slow boring miserable trek, the motorway is in sight but were just not there yet!!! after that it speeds all the way home!!!!

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 17:11

It is better if you think that at 10 weeks (which is a bit closer!) we will be 1/4 of the way there...

OK OK We have a looooonnnngggggg time to wait yet!! LOL At least we are all waiting together.

desperatehousewife · 21/04/2006 18:32

ahem.......think i'd like to join this thread please. Am 12 weeks on Monday, have had 2 scans already Shock and am very excited. Have nuchal scan in 2 weeks time. Too many blinking messages on this thread to read and catch up with!!

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 18:33

Congratulations DHW :o

Is this your first?

desperatehousewife · 21/04/2006 18:39

No, i have a nearly 4 year old boy, and had a stillbirth last November. So a becomming a bit of an old hand at this pregnancy lark!!

Have been feeling as sick as a parrot this time round, but starting to feel a bit more 'normal' again now thank god!

saralou100 · 21/04/2006 18:39

ok nataliejane, youve convinced me i'm nearly their!!! greetings to desperatehousewife... wishing you a happy healthy few months!!!! :o

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 18:41

I have a 4 year old DS aswell.

I am sorry about your last baby, it must have been awful for you. :(

Glad to hear the sickness is fading for you. :)

desperatehousewife · 21/04/2006 18:42

when are you due nj? I'm due Nov 6th...day after DH's b'day!

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 18:44

LOL SaraLou :)

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 18:46

25th Nov, if you look down the thread just a little bit, there is a list of stats, feel free to add yourself to it :)

So I take it you have had your booking in appointment? Will you have extra monitoring throughout?

desperatehousewife · 21/04/2006 18:51

yes booking in was on wednesday and i'm very happy to be 'official' now!

Yes, I'm having all my care through the hospital rather than my midwife at the docs surgery and will have a few more scans i imagine (more for my own peace of mind than anything else, as there was absolutely no reason for his death).

Really aware that my situation is pretty grim and don't want to bring the tone of this thread down - i'm very happy to talk about it if anyone wanted to know anything, but on the other hand happy to just skirt over the issue - don't want to freak anyone out!

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 18:52

Sorry I will have to catch up tomorrow, just seen the time, DS hasn't had his dinner yet... bad mum!! LOL

Have a nice evening girls :) TC xxx

Northerner · 22/04/2006 08:33

Desperatehousewife - just seen your news. Many congratulations!!! Smile

Am very happy for you.

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 22/04/2006 09:23

Hi all

Boy do I feel old - I don't have a clue what all these short text codes are (DS? DD? DH?). I'm 35 and expecting my first baby about 1 December (though we reckon it'll be earlier - as not even my Doctor can be sure - due to a funny last period - sorry, too much information). I found this site by accident and am very interested in hearing what everyone's up to - although if someone could enlighten me to the shorthand - I'd be greatful. :) All the best Lady Anne

NatalieJane · 22/04/2006 10:51

Morning girls :)

I am 9 weeks today, and I think I am starting to feel a bit better, actually fancied a cup of tea this morning!

Sorry I just ran off last night DHW, completely lost the time! I have my first midwife appointment on 2nd May. :)

Hi and congrats to LadyAnne :) If you look right at the top of your page there is an acronym list, most of them are listed there :) It doesn't take as long as you would think to get your head around them :)

Hope everyone is well, and is enjoying the start to the weekend :)

eeyoreuk · 22/04/2006 15:28

Does anybody know if you can take anything for a sinus infection besides paracetamol? I've had this horrible cold for the last couple of days and this morning my sinuses are killing me.

So much for a great trip to the States! If it's not myself or the kids being sick, it's the rest of my family that we are visiting! Haven't been able to shop like I have during other visits - boo hoo! DH will be happy though. Oh well, at least the weather has been great. It's suppose to get to 27 today!!

Jen1209 · 22/04/2006 17:41

Hi and welcome to Lady Anne and DesperateHousewife! I will be 10 weeks on Monday - quarter of the way there sounds so much better!

Had a shocker in Tesco today - saw an old friend of the family (her DH taught at my school + they lived in the same village as us) who walked straight up and said "oh my God, congratulations, when's it due!" Shock Before I could gather my thoughts (i.e think up a lie about just being a bit fat) I had said "20th November" and then spent the next 5 minutes saying "please don't tell anyone" repeatedly... BUM! Roll on 8th May!

Good Luck on Monday eeyoreuk
Hope everyone is having good weekends

mygirllolipop · 22/04/2006 18:16

DHW - glad you could join us! welcome and congrats also to anne.
betty, eeyore I can completely relate I caught a cold two weeks ago and now it's coming back plus got raging headache all today. had migranes with dd3 and couldn't take anything for them so hope this isn't the start of the same.

saralou100 · 22/04/2006 18:27

oh my god ds slept until 8:30 this morning and let me have a lie in (he's usually up 6:05 to be precise!):o i actually have felt a bit better today, wether it was the lie in i don't know, but only 1 episode of nausea and managed some tidying up and have cooked a meal for us all this evening!!! have to get ready to go to an anne summers party now... :o :o :o

oh and welcome ladyanne, many cogratulations to you!!!

fat betty, have you tried inhaling steam?? it helps loosen everything up their?? i don't think anything is allowed in pregnancy just to make this even worse for us!!! paracetamol is the only thing for pain!!!

twocatsonthebed · 22/04/2006 19:08

hello everyone - and welcome even more newbies.

Glad some people are starting to feel better - I can't wait for that to happen! Roll on being able to cook again, that's what I say.

I had my nuchal scan yesterday, which was rather nervewracking but fortunately all fine, despite being 40 my odds are as good as if I were 31, and everything looks normal. So eeyoreuk, hope yours is fine too - and if it is at the FMC, they were absolutely lovely. So now I might be able to relax a bit more...

littlemermaid · 23/04/2006 08:53

hello everyone, I started out on this thread a few weeks ago but have been caught up in family stuff so just getting a chance to come back if that's OK. Huge sympathies to anyone suffering the dreaded morning sickness, I thought I had it bad last time but this is something else !!

Like some of you ladies I'm already huge about the same as I was at 16 weeks last time according to my photos from then. I cannot believe I'm wearing maternity clothes already but was so sick of being uncomfortable. I had to go to a family gathering last week and despite very creative dressing everyone could tell, how embarrasing to have to say yeah only about 9 weeks gone.

I'm surprised that scans and services are so different depending on where you live, I had my booking in appointment on Friday. Lovely midwife listened to me moaning about my symptoms felt my bump and checked out my frankly huge breasts (up 2 cup sizes) and said very casually, "you know it's probably twins, but we won't scan you early just for that". What ????? My scan isn't til 12 May and she wants me to wait that long ??? Off to try and convince the GP tomorrow otherwise will be finding somewhere to do a private scan.......... Hope everyone is staring to feel better soon
