KJQ, really sorry to hear your news. Hope you're feeling OK and taking care of yourself.

Like Spinach, it's an ironic reassurance to still be feeling like a limp rag - am still working from home as can't face the drive in. And spinach, yes I'd swear too that i could feel some faint flutterings, but am sure that everyone would tell me I was imagining it.

Hope everyone else is OK

Northerner · 20/04/2006 17:15

Am aware Harrogatemum hasn't posted for a while.

I'm thinking of you hun and hope you are well. xx

mygirllolipop · 20/04/2006 18:09

Hi girls
Got new computer delivered today so FIL being setting it up.

KJQ so sorry to hear your news, I though we were getting to a safe time. Take care of yourself.
Welcome newbies and congrats.
As for sleeping arrangements, we're gonna buy another set of bunk beds. DD3 will be 19m so she will go in the bottom bunk and baby will get the cot then move up to the bunk bed when it's ready. We have also looked at buggies. We've decided on the Graco Stadium Duo as we've got a Graco travel system so will use the car seat with the Stadium Duo until DD3 is old enough to walk.

spinach · 20/04/2006 20:09

KJQ, i'm so sorry.
hope everyone else is ok. I'm having a really bad sickness day and feel totally crap about being so useless to my dd. she must be so fed up of me saying 'i can't i feel poorly'. Sad

it's just taken god knows how long too catch up on all the events recently... so sorry to all those who have had bad news, my own experiences were the absolute worst times in my life and it's just not fair... my thoughts are with you!! it's a reminder to everyone just how precious this all is. actually makes me feel bad for feeling so awful about myself, i'm exhausted feeling sick constantly, but can't throw up, my head hurts my boobs hurt, ihaven't cooked or cleaned in ages i have such little energy but i wouldn't give this up for the world. i have my own paranoid thoughts to deal with too, what if it all goes wrong again... i'm 8 weeks now.. feels like forever until i feel "safe"

saralou100 · 20/04/2006 21:18

FFS, i'm depressing!!! does anyone know any good jokes??????

spinach · 20/04/2006 21:19

saralou, you sound like me... my house is a tip, poor dh is doing everything. havent cooked a meal in 8 weeks, no energy, head, boobs, tummy hurts and all day sickness... i dont throw up either. but like you say, lucky arent we. but still cant wait for this phase to be over!

staceym11 · 20/04/2006 23:24

hi everyone!

so sorry kjq life can be cruel, my thoughts are with you!

fatbetty, our moving date will be within the next two weeks just waiting for exchange now!

welcome to you joules and congrats

frangrosa, my dd will be a couple of weeks older than 2 and when #2 is born it'l stay in moses basket while we convince dd she wants to go into a big girl bed now shes a big sister (shes stubborn it could take some time) and then when babies ready it will go into cot (presuming we'v got dd out of it) but all best laid plans and that! lol

im sure iv felt the baby moving already, my mum says its way too early and if i am iv got my dates wrong, which i doubt, but i felt dd move at 14 weeks and she was my first, and im 12 weeks tomo, so i suppose it could be possible!

right now i think iv caught up on everything il go to bed i think! lol, knackered as usual!!

staceym11 · 20/04/2006 23:25

oh and just wanna say to sarahlou and spinach, id prefer not to throw up rather than throw up through my nose which i seem to be managing constantly! (i know its tmi but i cant really tell anyone else) roll on 2nd trimester!

MommyUpNorth · 21/04/2006 07:45

I don't think I'm ever going to stay on top of this thread! I can relate to these things as well... I just feel really unmotivated these days to do much of anything. I have cooked a few good meals, but then I never feel like eating them!

Had a bit of bad(?) news yesterday from my SIL... she's now 20 wks and went to her scan and they found that the legs were two different lengths... one 11cm and one 23! Plus there was something wrong with the foot. I think she's extremely worried as no one has given her any info, and now she's told the family, we're all worrying as well! Has anyone heard of anything like this? I've tried google and some baby sites, but I'm obviously not typing the terms they like as I'm coming back with nothing much.

toadstool · 21/04/2006 10:09

MummyupNorth, I can't believe your SIL was given no further information, but then some scans can be misread - heard of one 20 wk scan where they didn't spot a twin (how?), another where baby was described as 'the wrong size' - it was the right size, but the parents were worried sick up to the birth(apparently size is v.v. difficult to assess by scan). Hope your SIL gets better information quickly.
I've suddenly stopped feeling preggers (ie. knackered, ill, hurting boobs) so I'm hoping it's week 10-11 making a shift into 2nd trimester mode rather than bad things going on. First time round I had a terrible 2nd trimester - bleeding for 6 weeks, cramping, feeling rubbish. Hoping it doesn't all happen again.

saralou100 · 21/04/2006 10:18

staceym11 - way too much info, but it made me laugh... someone did know a good joke after all!!!! of course i'm not laughing at you, but i experienced the same with ds, without saying too much the bit that gets stuck is the worst!!!!

mummyupnorth, thats a very sad thing to hear and no wonder your all worrying if noone has said anything, have they planned any more scans or refferred her anywhere??

when did everyone go to the dr's, i'm 8 wks now and still haven't told gp or arranged midwife, i remember with ds no-one was really interested until 12wks... also didn't really like midwife last time, she was very efficient but not too friendly!! didn't like to chat, which is putting me off... what if it's her again

Jen1209 · 21/04/2006 11:13

Hi SarahLou - I only booked in with my GP yesterday and I am 9 + 4 today. I left it late as last time I booked in at 5 weeks and then had a m/c which I found distressing when the midwife kept calling to book me in and my scan date arrived in the post. However, this time the receptionist told me off for booking in late coz the midwife likes to book in at around 10 weeks and I wasn't leaving her a lot of time!!! :o

Can you request that you don't get the same midwife? I would go to the GP now, just to get the ball rolling if nothing else.

Stacey - that's waaaaay too much info :o I haven't been sick for 3 days now but it has been a close call most mornings i.e thinking I'm going to then not actually...

mygirllolipop · 21/04/2006 11:21

Hi all, yes I can relate to the non-motivational state of mind lately. DH fast losing sympathy so it's a good job I'm approaching the second trimester.
I'm sorry I don't have info/advice re baby's legs differing in length, all I can say is, they may be wrong.

Delia · 21/04/2006 13:05

Hi

KJQ - so sorry to hear your news, i hope you can take it easy and find support from family and friends.

It's a worrying time for us all i think, i know i'm petrified that something this big can't possibly go right. it's good to know that we have somewhere to discuss these feelings though where others don't just think your paranoid!

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 13:18

Hi Everyone :)

Well woke up this morning with a nose bleed, I've never suffered with them at any other time other than when I am PG! I had quite forgotten and it was a bit of a shock to see blood everywhere!

I found a lump in my boob a couple of days ago, I had one exactly the same last time I was PG which turned out to be a fatty lump of tissue, was a bit worried but have been to my GP this morning and he has said he thinks it will be as harmless as last time, to keep an eye on it and go back in a couple of weeks if it changes or anything, so just another thing to blooming worry about!!!

Another one here feeling really down and absolutely shattered, feel really sick most of the time but have still not been sick, got no energy left for anything, feeling really guilty about DS, he goes back to nursery next week and apart from a couple of trips into town we haven't done anything together!

Bring on the scan and 2nd trimester!!! Will start to relax a bit then.

Sorry to moan on, especially when others have had much worse to cope with this week.

HopingCat · 21/04/2006 14:25

Hi all,

I've made it to 12 weeks and already had scan so we have now started telling people. So far almost everyone said they had guessed already, so after trying not to tell people for so long it's all been a bit of an anticlimax for us. I'm obviously looking bigger than I thought.

I'm hoping that I'll start to feel better soon, but yesterday I felt the sickest I've been so far so it's obviously not something that changes instantly when you reach the 2nd trimester.

Hope we all start to feel less sick and less tired soon and can start to enjoy being pregnant. I've been told the 2nd trimester is the best bit. Anyone on here agree with this? I've never been pg before so everything is still new to me.

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 14:32

Congrats HC :o :o :o Must be a huge relief for you both.

Last time the second trimester was great for me, probably the best I have ever felt!! But some people do still have a hard time, some still feel sick, some have bleeding, tiredness must still play a big part as well.

saralou100 · 21/04/2006 15:47

i can't believe people are getting to the 2nd trimester already and i still have so long to go, it seems till i get their!!! 12 week scan is cool they actually look like a baby!!! with ds i'd had 4 scans by the 2nd trimester and i coulldn't get over the difference between 10wks and 12wks. i think the tiredness lasted the whole way through, but the middle bit is the best bit, feeling the little kicks etc, before your so big and uncomfortable.

i have a big mouth and have told everyone already, so seeing peoples mouths drop is hysterical (this was not a planned pg) if they've guessed it's kinda like stealing your thunder!

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 16:01

I know what you mean SaraLou!! You are only a few days behind me, so you must be coming up to 9 weeks? It isn't that long till 12 weeks, if you think it is only the same length of time as it is since you were 6 weeks, it doesn't seem so bad, or does it? Wink

saralou100 · 21/04/2006 16:24

i'm 8+2, the last one on the list so i actually feel like its a month away... i got bfp at around 6 wks, then had a scan last week to confirm everything as i had no idea on my dates, it feels like everything is happening in slow-motion, in fact i'm in shock now i've just realised it was only last week i saw the little jelly bean, i thought it was much longer ago!!

ds has just poo'd the smell is making me want to throw up :(

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 16:30

It will go so quickly, you wait and see, I find the weeks are dragging a bit, but when I think it was this time last week I was thinking, "I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow" it doesn't seem that long ago (does that make any sense what so ever?!!)

saralou100 · 21/04/2006 16:38

it does nj, in our own little pregnant heads kinda way... thanks for the moral supportGrinGrinGrin

mygirllolipop · 21/04/2006 16:39

HC - yeah the 2nd trimester is the best of a bad bunch! You are well aware of the trial of the first trimester and the last brings it's own probs! Enjoy this bit while it lasts!
