Flowery - best money I ever splashed out on move wise was people who pack and move it. It meant I didn't spend weeks sorting and packing. I didn't spend small fortune on packing materials and I could get everything packe and shifted in a day. Expensive - well on face of it yes, but if you factor in cost of your own time & buying packing materials it works out cheaper. After years of hiring cans, lugging stuff myself and spending weeks packing things I felt like such a dullards. Total moment of revelation! Although you still have to do own unpacking.

Your other halves said what now about your bottoms?! Rule is I'm allowed to mention arse creep but MrMs role is never to agree with me on this. No matter how true. And I'm resolutely avoiding weighing scales - I can't diet right now or exercise like a fiend so why depress myself?

Sorry you've to work this evening.

Zoey - the rest day sounds good.

I'm off for a walk with MrM, grabbing some breakfast on the way. En route back we've shopping to purchase and pumpkins to buy to carve for friends 30th this evening. There may be an afternoon snooze thrown in somewhere too. Have fab days ladies.

theTramp · 03/11/2012 10:40

Ha ha - hiring vans! Whoops

Oodcantthinkofanewname · 03/11/2012 10:51

We have heard from the builder that he can't start until January now. He's an injury so we will be his first job back. Should only be a month tops and not massively disruptive to Main house. Does delay dd3 getting a room as her room is currently housing the furniture for the new room but it's manageable. We can get on with other stuff in mean time.

Oodcantthinkofanewname · 03/11/2012 10:52

Oh & got cycling gloves this am to use with the crutches, really good!

JoJoBella84 · 03/11/2012 11:02

ood how about oodathunkit?

StormyBrid · 03/11/2012 11:23

Morning all.

Kirsty sounds like a reasonable amount to have gained to me. I read somewhere that (assuming a "healthy" weight to start with) two to four pounds in the first trimester, then a pound a week in the second, is fine. Also, getting the impression you've not gone for the healthiest choices every time so far - if you're planning to change that you might see a dip on the scales within a couple of days. Two days ago I came in at X stone and 7lbs; this morning I'm X stone 2lbs - five pounds of water weight and sluggish bowel contents shifted just by swapping the chocolate and crisps for fruit and yoghurt.

I am very jealous of all of you who can afford cleaners. Must point the man at the hoovering today. Also very much looking forward to moving house, because new house should be clean, whereas this house has a decade of ingrained grime which I really can't be bothered to do anything about.

Comments on bum size should not be allowed!

FloweryBoots · 03/11/2012 11:28

Tramp When we made the move up from london to leeds in January this year the one thing I said was that this time we were hiring a removal firm, not getting fathers to drive self hire vans. I really REALLY meant it and tried to stand my ground. I got no where. We hired a van, FIL drove it, between him and my dad they backed it into our new next door neighbours wall and knocked a chunk out - great first impression! Not to mension my extreem concern our stuff wouldn't all fit (it just did, but only just). This time I can't be bothered with the argument. We will have (now we've had to take our rented place for an extra month) time to do the move gradually (though I will hate that!) and the house is only 5 minutes walk away from this one so not a long journey. One day though, one day! Kept all the boxes from last time though...

We should be old hands at moving, done it a fair few times recently, but we are actually really crap as DH refuses to accept how long it takes to pack. He keeps telling me not to worry and we will 'do it the weekend we move'!!!! He had a chest infection when we moved up from London so had no idea how much work I was putting into packing for the weeks beforehand as he was so ill. Grrr.

Oodcantthinkofanewname · 03/11/2012 11:39

Kirsty Just weighed myself to see, and I've put on a stone, or just over. And I lost about 6lb in the early weekswith the sickness.

Do your best not to worry about it. I've no idea how much I put on with DS but I was back in my usual clothes within a month so it soon went again. Most of it will be increase in muscles and blood adn all the fluids and the actuall baby and all sorts of things. Plus you should put on fat in pregnancy so you have reserves for breast feeding. I'm quite petit naturalyl and seemed to have to eat litterally non stop in the first few months feeding DS - a bit of extra fat to help me wouldn't have gone a miss!

HermioneBoo · 03/11/2012 13:18

kirsty I've put 10lbs on since 19th July, I read that by 21 weeks weight gain should be between 8-14lbs so you are fine, a good (sorry TMI alert) poo and upping your fluids to shift the water weight and would bring you well within that. I was really into my nutrition and sports before getting pregnant so I kind of have the mindset that if you eat clean and move often your body will do what it needs to. You've nothing to worry about :) oh and I'd def get that bra checked out.

Just returned from Mothercare as I really wanted a bra fitting done, however I chickened out and just did it myself. Last time I checked I'd gone from a 30DD to a 32E, now I'm a 34E. My bump has grown 5cm in a week so I also got some new jeans as my old trousers haven't a snowballs chance of fitting me now, or rather they do with my bumpband but they're bloody uncomfortable and I have to keep adjusting!

manda I've been seriously considering a cleaner for when BabyBoo arrives, but because of DH's asthma I have to be careful what cleaning chemicals are used, does your cleaner use her stuff or your cleaning stuff? I'd have to clear the house up of all the decorating stuff too, I def don't live in a house where's there's a place for everything!

The kicks I'm getting are getting uncomfortable now, no more feathery movements or tickles! I thought I'd get more of a booting while I watched fireworks last night, all that loud banging, but no, I only seems to get big kicks if I'm on my back

pinkpeony4 · 03/11/2012 13:19

Kirsty I refuse to weigh myself but am sure I have gained at least a stone. I am really not going to worry about it. In my other pregnancies I gained 2-3 stone and lost it all very quickly due to breastfeeding & running around after the other boys. I was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans 2 weeks after ds3! I eat what I want when pregnant and am very healthy & exercise lots when not. I think it all evens out.

Ethel I feel for you with your wee'd on leg/sofa. We had ours steam cleaned a few weeks ago and 1 week later ds2 fell asleep on the sofa and when he woke up he had wet himself all over it - grrrr!!

Zoey glad you had fun last night, apart from the argument of course. The fireworks we went to were amazing. Boys had hotdogs and candy floss so were on a lovely sugar high! Enjoy yours tonight Myjobis

Sheldon the nighty does say one size which I always think is strange too!

Ood glad the gloves help. Do you get blisters otherwise? I have hard patches of skin on my hands from pushing the buggy!

Flowery best money ever spent was getting a removal company to pack and move us when we moved 3 years ago. Moving house is hellish but having someone do that was amazing. One guy packed our whole house in one day, it would have taken me about 1 week! Especially with 2 small boys around at the same time.

Backward good luck with your job application.

Just spent a freezing morning watching ds1 play football. It's a beautiful day but not great for standing around in. We were supposed to be going to friends but they have the norovirus & there is no way I would risk any of us getting that! Builders here today and dust is horrific. Eyes ache from it! Hopefully today is the last day of the really dusty work and then it's just decorating. It's very hard not having a kitchen though.

I have booked a babybond 4d scan for the 24th Nov which will be 26 weeks so very excited about that. We are going to take ds1/2 so hopefully they will enjoy it.

Hope everyone else is Ok? Enjoy your weekends

Oodthunkit · 03/11/2012 13:55

pink not so far but they are v achy and get cold and wet.

Sheldonella · 03/11/2012 14:15

Has anyone ever used a Wilkinet carrier (particularly those large of boob)? I've seen one going cheap and quite like the look of it.

possom Go for it with the job. I'm sure they could work around you being pg if you are ideal for it. Good luck!

kirsty Last time I weighted myself I had put on about 8lb I think. Some days it is more, some less. All sounds normal to me.

Oh zoey bum comments definitely not allowed!

Flowery Packing up is annoying isn't it. When we moved to our house we decided to attempt the whole lot in a small hatchback. It took a whole week and a lot of pain!

Afternoon bumps, need a new thread soon, half way milestone the marchers are bumping along or something, I was better at thread titles when I was on the slatterns.

Feeling better today, had a sore bump yesterday, not many flumps and an annoying phonecall from my mum made one grumpy gummi

Brought dd2 birthday shopping today and her cake is baking, dh and I are off to John Bishop tonight makes a happy but tired gummi

FloweryBoots · 03/11/2012 15:00

Sheld I borrowed a Wilkinet from my sister last time. I really liked it, DS seemed very comfy and I found it comfy and really spread the weight well. Also liked that when bigger you can put them on your back in a Wilkinet. Can take a bit of getting used to putting it on adn being a bit short I did get a bit tangled in the straps when taking it off! DH hated it though. He just never felt confident in anything held on by knots so anything other than something like a baby bjorn was never going to suit him.

I'm far from being big of boob though so can't comment on that aspect. My sis is begger boobed than me, and bigger generally and she liked it. Her DH liked it too, so much so that they had two - his and hers! But Sis is short like me and her DH is 6ft 4 so he had one with extra long straps!

Em2010 · 03/11/2012 15:03

Afternoon All, just a quick hello from me! Have a sudden burst of energy at the mo and trying to make the most of it! Hope everyone is having lovely afternoons x

zoeymlucas · 03/11/2012 16:08

Good luck with the moving flowery and hope you manage to squeeze in some rest as I know it can be full on

DH is making a monster fry up including home made chips while I chill on sofa, it's a hard life but I am growing person which is such hard work in itself Grin

Got some bargains today as found 2 Argos vouchers in an old purse that were still in date, so got baby a glowing sea horse that plays music and new baby monitors for like 15.00- got to love bargain! Plus my mum gave me money for Moses basket as she knows I like to pick things, but still debating if I need one as have crib in bed room, a mamma and pappa bouncy chair thing that has adjustable heights and plays music and vibrates for living room but DH said he would like a Moses basket for day so baby can lay totally flat- hmmmmm so much stuff for a tiny person!!!!dont envy you need 2 of everything Manda
