sorgoys?!? gorgeous. Apologies as usual for numerous typos; I should have that as my autosignature....

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 02/11/2012 17:21

Oh and DJH sorry to hear about the sickness. Hope it soon passes. X

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 02/11/2012 17:55

Oh my god! Was just sitting on the sofa with DD, she was engrossed in 'ben and holly' on Tv, I was trying to catch up on the thread. Suddenly I feel a warm feeling on my leg. The little bugger had only dine a massive wee on the sofa because she didn't want to get up and miss her tv programme! Arrgghh! The sofa was swimming in pee, how gross?!!!! And I was blumming well wet through as well!! Toddlers! Gah! Grin

Oodcantthinkofanewname · 02/11/2012 18:17

ethelred dd3 weed in dh pocket when we were out on Wednesday. He was carrying her and she had just woken up!

Whoever said about buggy punctures, our bike shop ( & mumsnet) recommended the green slime stuff . We've actually had to replace a tyre because it was v worn down then met a roofing nail but didn't get a puncture. Mountain buggy are v good for spare parts though.

theTramp · 02/11/2012 18:20

Ethel - I shouldn't find that funny but it so is. Of course if it was my sofa and toddler I'd be furious! :)

JoJo - I decided earlier on in my career to get a professional qualification in marketing. On top of day job I basically gave up having any life for a year. This was the end of my err bothering with more academic qualifications. I love learning and stay actively involved in new thinking, lectures etc but further letters after name, non merci. I'm seriously impressed that you handle pregnancy and studies.

Manda - video scan is £150 and so worth every penny. You get lots of time, picture is super clear and all Qs are answered.
Well done on getting article out of way.

The lady trimmer I have is a wilkinson sword one I think. Boots & superdrig sell them. Razor on one end, trimmer the other and they're battery powered. Brilliant little thing. And impossible to cut yourself with it even if it feels like it isn't. Costs about a tenner I think.

Glad you're feeling bolstered dfh.

Wacky warehouse at 9am... Seriously that sounds like hell!

GummiberryJuice · 02/11/2012 18:30

Just marking place quickly

Tramp glad your scan went well and you are now looking forward to your dvd. Must say I was glad my little bean was being stubborn as I have to go back in 2 weeks and get another glimpse.
Fingers crossed placenta moves up as baby gets bigger.

DJH horrible noravirus try and keep hydrated though.

Manda yeah for cleaner

Ethel sorry but you have cheered me up I was in a bad mood today, please tell me you have a leather sofa though?

Sorry for no more personals feeling abit off today, so dh has lit fire and is now away to Dominos

theTramp · 02/11/2012 18:47

Sorry totally forgot who asked if I thought Socs was gonna be tall. Answer is who knows?! I believe up to 20 weeks all babies develop at about same pace, hence can spot if there's issues with size etc. But after 20 weeks every baby is different. However my Mum and Dad are convinced we're due a giant (karma I think, apparently I was height of a 2.5 year old at 1 - I slowed down at 11 but til then medical view was I'd be 6ft4 or so) but as genetics doesn't necessarily work on karma I think it's anyone's guess. However legs were 9cm and feet were big & there was hiccupping so thus far Socs is def taking after neon a few points. Poor Socs. There's time to change yet though.

theTramp · 02/11/2012 18:48

Neon being me. I don't know how I managed that either :)

theTramp · 02/11/2012 18:49

Gummi - hope pizza and fire do trick.

OctoberCarrot · 02/11/2012 19:14

Great about scan Tramp.

Pizza here too. Yum! Don't think I have mentioned yet but I am in Ireland though lived in London for 10 years. dominos have a deal euro14 for 16" pizza, garlic pizza bread and chicken dippers. Well never manage all the pizza but cheaper then buying smaller one. Madness!

Love the Jools Oliver stuff. Jojomamabebe is opening here this week. So excited. Think it has lovely stuff for boys and I missed an advent calendar online last year so hoping to get it this year instore.

Love My cameleon too though regret I did not buy a bee as it seems to be a bit more user friendly.

Looking forward to DH being around for weekend. He was doing marathon last Monday so has been quite absent with training.

Mands. Delighted cleaner worked well. We have one and it is great. Stops fights and arguments with DH.

Looking forward to joining fb Marchers!

OC

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 02/11/2012 19:16

How tall are you tramp? DD was very long when she was born. Now I'm not very tall at 5'6, but DH is 6'3, so not entirely surprising.

ThreeForTea · 02/11/2012 19:27

Helloo! Just been reading for an hour and 50 minutes to catch up, haven't posted since Monday but can see its def been a busy week! Can I start name checking from now as though i've taken in lots of news now need to do a few chores before I can have another mn break??

Exciting snippets from my life include; solid kicks, mat coat purchase (vertbaudet - grey wool) arriving soon i hope, dh currently working on my living room laminate flooring, dh hating my first choice boy name (still amicable so far tho!) and thats all I can think of.

Have really enjoyed catching up though - 15 pages is a lot! :)

ThreeForTea · 02/11/2012 19:28

Oh, reason for absence was just recurrent exhastion btw but have had an extra day off this week so feeling better!

Hamnvik · 02/11/2012 19:54

Glad your scan went well Tramp! Did anyone else have a scan today? I wish I could have another scan but I don't think we can afford it atm too many other things to buy.

Speaking of which I ordered my new bed today! Gets delivered on Sunday can't wait! Grin

Hope you all have nice plans for the weekend!

*Sheldon(, no probs! Got the Wahl 'Personal Trimmer' from Boots. It's in the 3 for 2 xmas present display, so I bought two pressies and got it free! About £15, I think, but no doubt cheaper online. It's in a pink-for-girls box but slightly miffed that it seems to be exactly the same as my DH's hair and beard trimmer - I could have just used that! hmm, or maybe not

Ethel and others, oh yes, I can't recommend the cleaner enough! It's lovely walking round without thinking 'oh god what a mess!' or 'I really must do that/ask DH to do that'. Felt like domestic goddess when MiL walked in and surveyed the scene Grin Yippee for your popping bump! Hmmm, the wee story makes me regret even more our gorgeous pale blue fabric John Lewis sofa!!! Maybe we should put it into storage for the next 6 (???) years?!

Thanks, Tramp! Yes, scans at the private clinic we went to at 8weeks were £120 but now further on about same price (they didn't have such a thing as video scan on website tho). Has anyone ever just recorded an NHS scan on camera or phone? Is it allowed?!

Gummi feel better soon chuck.

Three hello and glad you're feeling a bit more sprightly!

Pizza here too! Had a hankering last night but we didn't have anything in and I was so hungry I couldn't wait for delivery so ended up doing quickie pasta. But have just sent DH and MiL off to Sains for pizza fest, yippee! Smile (I'm supposed to be marking assignments not MNing so don't tell anyone?)

Chefette · 02/11/2012 20:41

Laughing at mand stealing DHs trimmer.......Grin

Sheldonella · 02/11/2012 21:42

Thanks for the recommendations manda and tramp.

manda DH tried to record our scan but the sonographer told him he couldn't Sad

three nice to see you posting, glad you've had a day off.

Oh ethel do you have wipe clean sofas? :) I'm also wondering if our lovely fabric John Lewis sofas ought to be covered up or something :)

OP posts:
zoeymlucas · 02/11/2012 22:12

Ethel that so made me giggle about your sofa Smile hope it's leather and easy to clean though

Fireworks were amazing but me and DH had a huge argument and are currently not speaking which is a bonus as I am still bloody furious!!! I don't think I will ever be warm again though as am frozen to the core! I got my candy floss though so not to bad!!

myjob the man looked genuinely scared and dumb founded when I said it, it did cheer me up as was very grumpy that day and everyday at the min

Em2010 · 02/11/2012 22:23

Evening All, haven't had a chance to catch up properly so just a quick one!

tramp congratulations on the scan and staying strong - not looking at the critical time! Welcome to the low lying placenta club! I have to wait until 36 weeks for my next scan to see if placenta has moved. I think I am going to crack and have another private scan at around 28 weeks, if for no other reason than to get some decent pics!

ethel ooh sorry about your sofa! Am definitely postponing potty training ds for the time being! Am thinking I like my sofas so might make him sit on the floor until he is hmm about 6? Just in case of accidents!

djh really sorry to hear you have norovirus. Absolutely vile at any time and ghastly during pregnancy! Had it during last pregnancy (and 4 times after ds started nursery) it even set off contractions for a while.. I am seriously considering isolating ds and myself in the house for the duration of the winter with a big box of anti-viral wipes by the front door for any essential visitors!

jojo congratulations on finishing your proposal! I admire you so much managing to study whilst pregnant. I struggle to read Grazia these days...

Hello to everyone else!! Sorry I need to go back and read the thread properly and see what everyone else has been up to!

backwardpossom · 02/11/2012 23:07

Hi all, I haven't been able to catch up properly either...

djh I'm sorry about the norovirus, what a nightmare. Hope you get well soon x

JoJo yay to finishing the proposal :)

So the job I've been waiting for was finally advertised this morning, and the more I think about it, the more I want it. It's right on my doorstep and it's just perfect. Well, apart from the timing obviously! I'm going to apply and see how it goes. The worst they can say is 'no'. Wish me luck...

theTramp · 03/11/2012 00:25

Possum - luck!!!!!!

Ethel - I'm only 6ft, but I was unusually tall as a kid - think tallest kid in junior school first year starting junior school. You grow a thick skin :)

Zzoey - boo to row and cold. Hope you sort it out soon.

Manda - yay to cleaner.

Three - glad you're feeling better.

Hurrah for newly ordered beds.

Lexi - how you doing today?

Shel - feeling ok?

We're just back from last min party invite. So been out chatting all eve with our neighbours at gallery/restaurant/live music venue. Great fun. But I'm everso sleepy now so night night & sorry if I missed you.

kirsty80 · 03/11/2012 09:13

Morning everyone!
I can't name check sorry as I'm on my phone but yey for new beds, cleaners, pizza and candy floss and boo to poorly, wee on sofa (although this did make me chuckle) and grainy scan pics!

I weighed myself today - why?! I have put on about a stone since finding out I was pregnant - does this sound like a hefty amount to anyone else?! I also tried up measure myself for a new bra and now I'm seriously depressed and secretly hoping I got it completely wrong is it possible to go from a 34d to a 40b?!!!!!

I'm off to the farm shop today i'm going to make a big ham hock soup and start eating more healthily! I may also brave m&s too - wish me luck ladies!!!

Have a good day x

zoeymlucas · 03/11/2012 09:23

Good luck with your shopping today Kirsty I am not a great shoppier so tend to get things on line, but we do visit our local farm most weeks for veg and fresh meat :) I would get those bra measurements checked just to avoid wasting money more than anything!!!

Been up since 7 and still not dressed so feeling very lazy today as I have loads to do but just can't be bothered it was much more fun playing bouncy balls with the boys, DS1 even made his little brother toast as he wanted me to sit down, who am I to argue with a child, lol!

Sounds like a fab night tramp sometimes the last min things are the best!!!!!

Right to find something that fits [hmmm] on another note DH thinks my bum is getting bigger- I explained the rule about keeping his mouth shut other wise hormones might seriously effect his health, and by some miracle he is still alive!!!!!! ESP after last nights argument he is very lucky!!!!

FloweryBoots · 03/11/2012 10:10

Zoey ine said my Bum was starting to look pregnant as well as my bump now - he got a very stern glare!

So many things have made me gigle in another mamoth catching up session - who ever it was with the wardrobes, and wees in pockets!

DJH argh, nightmare, hope you feel better soon.

I have to work today (boo) but thought it would be 9am - 10pm and in the end don't need to go in till about 3pm so could be worse. DH had planned to take DS to PIL so they have gone anyway, which I'm a bit sad about as I miss my little boy so much with working full time, but the rest will do me good. They are even staying over night as DS is going through a really terrible sleeping patch again so DH said they would sty over so I don't get woken up. He's really all out for my rest since the scan showed little girl is a bit teeny.

She can pack a punch though - kicks and movement becoming quite boistrious and saw my tummy jump for the first time earlier this week. It's all felt so un reall until this last week or so and I feel I'm finally feeling excited about our new baby being on the way.

Manda Yeah for clearner, adn very envious. I keep saying we need one, adn to be fair DH wouldn't mind, but never got round to organising it! Now seems daft as I won't want to pay for it once on mat leave and that is only a couple of months away for me now!

Starting to panic a little about the house move. Been pushing for completion date of 20 Nov and have ended up agreeing 30 Nov so£££ but it will mean we can move gradually and get stuff delivered to the new place before moving in so not all bad. But we have done NO packing, NO sorting, ordered NO furniture etc. etc. We need practically everything, including bed for DS as he needs to be out of the cot. And I will not move in without a dish washer being in place! But we never have the energy to do any of this stuff. I suppose we'll just have to get it done, time is ticking.

What a ramble, off for a big bath and a relax must not do all the cleaning
