Popping back in to say GOOD LUCK Tramp! Fingers and toes crossed for a healthy, wriggling baby!

StealthToddler · 02/11/2012 10:12

Good luck tramp

pinkpeony4 · 02/11/2012 10:37

Good luck Tramp

JoJoBella84 · 02/11/2012 10:43

Good luck tramp
manda it's done and in, not as many words as I'd hoped but honestly I'd said everything I'd needed in 1000 words and it was becoming too descriptive the more I added so I submitted 1900 rather than 2500 but honestly don't care!! It's not graded, just feed back!!
I strongly suggest bio oil if you're not already using it! I've been using it since surgery twice a day on my whole bump and the bottle still looks full and new as it runs in really well. I bought from amazon as its half the price there. Even my gp suggested it, she said it was a shame they couldn't prescribe it as its clinical studies are fab but obviously NHS and cuts etc!!!

dameflamingo · 02/11/2012 11:00

ooh tramp good luck!

jojo so pleased to hear its in - I asked about his a bit upstream and figured you were nose to the grindstone.

manda I'm joining jojo on the bio oil recommendation - its great stuff for moisturising and smells lovely so feels like a treat rather than a must do. I bought mine from amazon too but I think boots were doing a decent price last time I was in if you need it quickly. A bottle lasts for ages too.

mandasand · 02/11/2012 11:11

Well done JoJo! Congrats - I know it's been a bit of a haul but, as you say, this should be absolutely sufficient to get some good feedback. Hope you've got something nice planned for the afternoon!

Thanks to you and Dame for BioOil recommendation! I've just bought a 200ml bottle on Amazon and while I was at it I added a book on Mindful Birthing from my 'saved for later' list (www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/006196395X/ref=ox_ya_os_product). I reckon even I have a CS on the day, the general practice (which I've got some experience of) will help me to cope with the odd moments of sheer panic I'm having about how big I'm getting, massive life change coming up, and how on earth we're going to cope with two babies!

Thanks Thanks

JoJoBella84 · 02/11/2012 11:18

Ah sorry dame must have missed it!! I'll look back later but yes it's been a bit of a manic 48 hours. My flat mates had to take lots of my favourite distractions away from me and hide them!! I'm such a procrastinator!!
manda as the sun is sort of shining in York I'm going to go out and get some fresh air! Then I might buy some nice pamper treats and infringe myself in a bubble bath and perhaps get my eyebrows waxed... Is it more painful in pregnancy??! It's been a while!!

DJH80 · 02/11/2012 11:26

Ah god. I've got the Noro Virus. Not nice! On a positive note, the washing has dried nicely.

And yes Zoey, bananas are brilliant for cramp.

JoJoBella84 · 02/11/2012 11:27

Indulge not infringe

JoJoBella84 · 02/11/2012 11:28

Ah DJH - not pleasant :( get well soon :)

Oodcantthinkofanewname · 02/11/2012 11:37

djh get well soon :(

tramp sling library's are a v good idea. Dd3 wouldn't have a sling at all. Just screamed. Only time she's been like that either [confised]

jojo waxing is supposed to be more painful in pg. I've had a few people refuse to wax me too Hmm

Chefette · 02/11/2012 11:40

Whoop whoop well done JoJo!!!

I got my overgrown caterpillar impersonations eyebrows done last week....admittedly it's been a few months weeks but it was excruciating!! Been cultivating the old leggies too [much to DP's utter disgust (TMI?!)] and the moment is looming for waxing, before I can't reach or bend!! I do it myself though, so can report back an amusing anecdote to you am sure!!!!

Anyone heard from Tramp? Been crossing fingers.

Stealth? You doing ok?

Will be picking up the Buzz3 next fri hopefully, I see that I can get a maxi cosi seat in same colour regime, am a bit obsessed like that. Grin

there are lots of Quinnies on eBay and even gumtree for those that are interested, they seem flaming pricey brand new!! some with courier postage and more closeby choice if you are in the south.

Have good days all, am away to brave a bagel, first solids to stay down hopefully since tues morn!!!!

Chefette · 02/11/2012 11:41

Oh crp poor DJH* sorry x

StormyBrid · 02/11/2012 11:55

A banana a day keeps the cramps away. If they kick in anyway, I find a few minutes standing on the front doorstep in the cold helps, no idea why.

JoJo - mine too! I have this horrible feeling it may have plans to pop out, although it's fighting against the natural fat distribution on my belly. It's weird though, thanks to that fat my belly button's always been pretty deep, and now it's really shallow! I'm going to blame this on Stormageddon kicking it.

It feels a bit like November is limbo month. Nothing much to look forward to baby-wise (aside from increasing heartburn, argh), can't move house yet, we're not doing all the baby shopping until after we've moved... All there is to do is one midwife appointment and a couple of trips to the jobcentre. On the plus side, as soon as the month's over, it's ten days in Munich (I am super excited about the prospect of planes!), then scouting round for a house while we wait for Christmas. So if anyone can find a way to speed up time for the next four weeks, that would be awesome.

theTramp · 02/11/2012 12:23

DJ - so sorry to hear that my dear, nasty and making its way around London like wildfire at the moment based on the number of people I know who are suffering.

So Socs is fine. All worries banished. Pictures from scan were rubbish though, grainy and you can't see a thing. Anyway, long legs and big feet and still hiccupping. So looks like Socs is taking after me. We looked away at relevant moment so remain in dark on gender. Next week we're off for private scan with its little video that we can send over to the grandparents in waiting so that they can join in the fun and hopefully we'll have a few better pics too. Anyway, phew.

So I have low lying placenta and an inverted womb. Which means I get another scan at 34 weeks. Which is 14 weeks away. Seems too long. Apparently I am only getting that one because of the low lying placenta and most women only get the two scans. Is that right? Only at 12 and 20 weeks normally? Seems unnecessarily mean. Anyway, not sure I am patient enough for all that so I may sneak in a 28 week private scan just to keep me happy.

So I am offski now for my treat - kinda. The pregnancy massage to try and loosen my back up a bit and the treat part which is the reflexology which I am hoping will help loosen up my sinus', although now cold has broken it may well be that that's happened.

Dame - I love the sound of the wardrobe you've bought and am looking forward to the pics.

JoJo - hurrah, well done. 2,500 words on what you intend to write is quite long, I presume its sort of an extended exec summary? Been years since I decided no more accademic stuff for me. So I am prob a wee bit out of touch. Learning - great fun. Course work and dissertations and no social life - not so much.

I know I've missed a few of you, apologies, am literally typing and running. Just getting a few work bits & bobs sorted before I head off.

LexiandBeanette · 02/11/2012 12:53

DJH get well soon - and get some diaoralyte in, it does help stop you dehydrating!
*JoJo I had my brows done the other week and it was totally fine, no different. And well done on the submission!
Tramp very, very pleased all is OK and worries banished! Yep, 2 scans is normal on NHS.

JoJoBella84 · 02/11/2012 13:47

tramp oddly I don't miss the social life!! I've never been much of a drinker anyway and I prefer quiet traditional pubs when I go out drinking with OH... So not your typical student!! I love learning but I hate being academic - I'm rubbish at it! It's just not me!

JoJoBella84 · 02/11/2012 13:49

lexi no where could fit me in (at least no where that uses the nice tea tree wax rather than the nasty gloppy stuff) so I'll continue to pluck randomly until I can get in!

mandasand · 02/11/2012 15:35

Tramp woop for brilliant scan! Can I ask how much is the video-scan you've got booked in?

DJH so sorry to hear that Sad Get well soon.

Congrats JoJo! And glad the sun shone for you in York this afternoon - you deserve it! Like Lexi getting my eyebrows waxed was no different from non-pregnancy.

Can't remember who recommended a 'personal trimmer' for my ladygarden but it's ace! Have to rely on a mirror, which is a bit confusing, but it doesn't hurt at all and feel miles better for it!

Oh, and I have to report that I love having a cleaner!!! Trial-clean went v. well. She's really lovely and massively hardworking. The bathroom looks like we're staying in a hotel (it has never been this sparkling under our custodianship and we do occasionally try!) and the rest of the house (minus studies and bedroom which I didn't ask her to do) spotless. Wow, why didn't we do this before?! I seriously think this is going to have a +ve impact on our marriage too, rather than running around in the spare hour or two we have together in the week, trying to do the bathroom and kitchen and ignore everything else because we've got people coming over and it's a mess!! Thanks for all your advice, everyone!

In other news, about to submit my journal article. It's not too shabby. Only 9 OU assignments to go before the weekend begins!

pinkpeony4 · 02/11/2012 16:10

DJH really hope you feel better soon. Norovirus is vile Thanks

Tramp congrats on a good scan! Do you think Soc's will be a tall one like you? I hope you enjoyed your massage.

JoJo I get my eyebrows threaded and its ace. Not too painful at all & you get a good shape. I had a bikini wax on Monday & it was no more painful than pre-pregnancy although my lady is v good and uses oil & hot wax which hurts less anyway. Well done on finishing your coursework.

Dame what a fab haul of freebies you got, people can be do kind.

Not sure who asked about the Jools Oliver fawn nighty maybe Sheldonella? I think it's about 0-3 months size but I guess it depends on the size of the baby. Good thing about no feet is that it should last for longer!

Stealth I love my Bugaboo Cameleon too & it's sti going strong after 6 years. I did however get a puncture today! My local bike shop fixes them for £10 though. Hope you are still resting & feel ok.

Manda yay for your cleaner. They are ace if you get a good one.

We are off to a school fireworks display tonight. 5 schools get together and host it and its fireworks to music! Last year it was fantastic, we bought glow sticks at school pick up and my two biggest boys are v excited! Hotdogs & candy floss for supper so a nice sugar high to end the week! Zoey enjoy your display too

Hope everyone else is ok

Sheldonella · 02/11/2012 16:25

Thanks pink it was me. I saw one somewhere that just said "one size" that I thought was a bit odd. They look very useful. Enjoy the fireworks, we are going to one tomorrow night. I'm very excited :)
manda If you don't mind me asking - which trimmer did you get? I'm getting a bit nervous with razors now. Cleaner sounds very promising.
Great news on the scan tramp.

Well I cracked and did a bit more shopping at lunch time. I found a cute little fleece jacket with ears on it in the sale in Gap. It is for 6-12 months so massive but will do for next winter. I've also ordered a rocking moses basket stand and a cute spotty changing mat.

Ah thanks for the messages Marchers. A little bit of Mumsnet sympathy can work wonders!

Sheldon - I'll post the link to the official hypno birthing book when I'm better. Me & dh have started reading it and it's really good.

Sheldonella · 02/11/2012 17:08

Thanks DJH. Sorry to hear about the sickness. I hope it doesn't last long.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 02/11/2012 17:14

Hey

Just typed out a long message, then DH rang and phone deleted it. Grrr.

Anyway, great news on the scan tramp and yes two scans is usual if pg is uncomplicated.

Very Envy of the cleaner manda. hopefully when I am back at work after this baby comes I might convince DH that we need on. I do need one our house is always a tip!

Jojo good effort on the coursework!

I will be going for a pre-center parcs wax next week and am fully expecting to come away a stone lighter! Grin

My friend with the teenage twins came over today and we all went to the designer outlet. It's especially great when they come over as they love DD and basically keep her entertained for me so I can have a bit of a break and a proper look in the shops.
Went to the mamas and papas shop at the outlet and got a changing mat half price and a sleeping bag the same, for my best friend who's expecting her first DC in the next few weeks. There were some sorgroys little outfits in there and was discounted to the outlet price and then lots of things had a further discount on top! Am supposed to not be spending at the moment though, so had to keep it low key or incur the wrath of DH! Grin

Got a quiet night tonight and then a childrens party at 9am tomorrow at another wacky warehouse type place. Cannot wait. Grin. Was hoping for a lie in A's there's no ballet with it being half term here, but lo and behold, this bloody pArty with thwart that aspiration! Grin

Then stopping with other mates with twins this weekend. They live in a house at the top of a hill in Barnsley, so we can just look out from their window and see all the firework displays, without actually leaving the house! Brilliant!

In other news, bump seems to have popped! All of a sudden I look really quite pregnant, but last 36 hours or so, it had felt a bit as though it's stretching, so not entirely surprised.

Anyway, need to properly catch up on the thread and then will post more later. Have a lovely Friday evening everyone. X
