Hi ya! I'm so happy to see you are all OK and had a nice Easter.
I went to Mothercare and some mat. Shops with my mum yesterday to have a look and some stuff is so expensive!
H&M and Next is not so bad but the best clothes I saw as in fashionable and good quality were the Topshop Mat ones, although pricey! Better look on Ebay!
Not wearing any maternity clothes yet but my belly seemed to pop out over the Easter break! ;)

Take care

marthahm · 18/04/2006 12:04

me too paow! after wishing the bump was bigger i suddenly exploded and now have a definite pg look. am pretty much only in mat. clothes as everything else seems uncomfortable. mercifully my friend has sent me loads of lovely stuff that she wore last year so am ok apart from having to search out an outfit for my friend's wedding in august.

jamiesam · 18/04/2006 13:02

nowanearlyNicemum - I had a third degree tear with ds2, and some err consequences afterwards - although all ok down below now. Anyway, consultants would not advise me to have vaginal delivery again incase I do further damage...

paow · 18/04/2006 14:15

At least you know jamiesam a relatively pain-free birth awaits you!
marthahm, I also have a wedding in August, I saw some fab dresses at Topshop mat, but about £40-£50, no too bad but maybe if I buy it soon and wear it the hole summer it might be worth buying it, not sure yet, I do want to look nice and not like a whale! haha

marthahm · 18/04/2006 15:52

i will go and check those out. i went to formes which is ridiculously expensive and the dresses don't look good on at all.

nowanearlyNicemum · 18/04/2006 15:55

oh poor you jamiesam, that sounds horrendous. best to take the consultant's advice then!!!

majormoo · 18/04/2006 18:37

hello everyone
glad your scan went well Jamiesam and jmcmugwump.
nothing much to report here-all OK.
I'v noticed quite a few of you brought your children to your scans. Obviously with our history we did not being DD to ours, so am debating when to mention the pregnancy to her. I don't think we will until after the 20 week scan (which is on 23rd May so not that long) but wondered when other people were thinking about telling other children?

totallyfloaty35 · 18/04/2006 18:47

hi major, told my kids after nuchal scan, also told them that sometimes things can go wrong, the baby might be poorly or born to soon etc, they were ok with it,but then they are 8 and 10 yrs

hi majormoo, dd is only 19 months so we won't be taking her to any of the scans but we keep talking about the baby brother or sister that's in mummy's tummy. Given her age it's highly unlikely she has a clue what we're going on about!!!

catgirl · 19/04/2006 10:58

we told our 3 year old ds after my 8 week scan - couldn't help ourselves! Have my nucal tomorrow and have said I will ask if he can come to the 20 week scan. Think he sometimes forgets then other times he is excited at becoming a big brother!

wuzzlefraggle · 19/04/2006 11:32

thanks for comments about telling other children. I am so anxious about the whole pregnancy malarky I will probably be in labour before I tell DD!

nowanearlyNicemum · 19/04/2006 11:51

errr, she might just have noticed that something's going on by then majormoo!! :o

wuzzlefraggle · 19/04/2006 11:53

Sunshine78 · 20/04/2006 08:58

Hi ladies been keeping up to date but not much to report. Had to go to hospital yesterday due to complications in 1st labour and was basiclay told what are you doing here! Did get another scan though which pleased my little DS as he got to see his baby!

whiffy · 20/04/2006 09:40

Just checking in to say hi to all and wish good luck to wuzzle with the scan.

Am feeling like death. Morning sickness has given way but am still getting sick a couple of times a day, just feels like normal 'overeating' nausea rather than the draining sea-sick type nausea but still a pain - threw up on train platform yesterday to disgust of those around me.... not that I could give a damn about them anyway the way I'm feeling Wink

And can;t face hula hoops any more. Still a bit mad for oranges though. Hired a nanny yesterday for when baby arrives. With DS I was able to juggle with a couple of days nursery and my parents, but impossible with 2. Had a heart attack when I worked out how much of my salary will go on childcare, but I guess now is not the time to ask the boss for a payrise Grin

nowanearlyNicemum · 20/04/2006 10:00

wow, that's organised whiffy, you've already hired a nanny. I'm impressed. Sorry to hear you're still feeling grim though. Hopefully not for much longer...

whiffy · 20/04/2006 14:19

ooooo. Was skimming round the internet when I found this website.... smart-ish maternity clothes all on sale. Not a huge selection but the dresses look like winners if anyone has any 'do's' coming up.

How was the scan, Wuzzle?

nowanearlyNicemum · 20/04/2006 14:26

they've got some nice stuff on that site whiffy -
I can't really justify buying any more really, I've still got plenty of gear from last time round :)

nowanearlyNicemum · 20/04/2006 14:27

wuzzle - where are you????
please don't keep us in suspenders.......

catgirl · 20/04/2006 16:34

afternoon - just had my 12 week scan and am releaved to say all OK. Not sure why I was feeling nervous but I was. My risk has gone down to 1 in 1110 - which is pretty good I think - based on my age it was 1 in 207 to start with.
wuzzle -hope your scan was ok too.

majormoo · 20/04/2006 16:51

congrats catgirl
wuzzle hope yours went well too
