kirrin it would be nice to think the second baby will be early if the first was. The consultant made it seem like it was more likely though! Who knows ill prob go hugely overdue now!
As soon as I hit 37/38 weeks ill be walking on pebbly beaches and bouncing on the birthing ball all the time!

ValiumQueen · 15/10/2012 16:57

Yes peaky. It is a thing of beauty. Minky fabric. > camouflage on order. Keeps my addiction affordable. Have you ordered any yet?

Peaky1 · 15/10/2012 17:03

You reminded me that I wanted to get a couple so I just bought 3! I look forward to receiving them and following suit with cheek rubbing! How long did yours take to arrive?

ValiumQueen · 15/10/2012 17:19

What did you get? Grin They take 2-4 weeks to arrive, but it is the waiting for a package bit that I love too.

ValiumQueen · 15/10/2012 17:19

Enjoying waiting for a package does not apply to babies though! Grr!

applepieinthesky · 15/10/2012 17:20

Good luck gt. Just remember that each contraction you have you are one step closer to meeting your baby.

MOT is done. Needed a few minor things doing. Total cost was £98 so not too painful. How did you gt on with yours horsey?

applepieinthesky · 15/10/2012 17:21

get on that should say.

kirrinIsland · 15/10/2012 17:21

If your consultant thinks that DH then it must be true! I too will feel overdue if I go past my due date!
I am going to tuck into the pineapple as soon as i get home though...

I have been having strong BHs all afternoon, which I normally wouldn't think anything of, but because I'm 300 miles from home my imagination has gone into overdrive!

NervousAt20 · 15/10/2012 17:29

apple at least your MOT weren't stupid amounts, even though £100 in sure isnt a bill you need right now, i hate it when that time of year comes around or if I hear the words "the cars going to the garage" I could cry lol

DH I hope your LO does come early for you, my MIL went 2 weeks early with her first then 2 weeks late with DP

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/10/2012 17:35

Anytime in late oct/ nov is good with me just not past my due date Grin

I've started sorting baby clothes, going to wash them tomorrow :)

YellowWellies · 15/10/2012 17:37

Errrrk Kirrin travel must be adding to the excitement.

I wouldn't dare go anywhere now given how isolated we are here. I do wish I had taken one last trip off the island in September. Have been here since mid August and am not due to leave the island for civilisation until January - which will be the longest stretch on the windy rock for me EVER am ignoring the possibility of an emergency trip to Aberdeen in the air ambulance and am going slightly mad with cabin fever / deprivation of retail therapy / lack of a good curry. I'm going to be going mad for some daylight come January!!!

Hope you get home safe Kirrin am envious of all of you out there in civilisation!

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/10/2012 17:55

Yes kirrin come back to our corner of the country!

I get strong BHs every day now and when I bounce on the ball I can feel pressure in my bum! Not surprised given how low she's lying, the sonographer couldn't get a profile shot of her face because she was burrowed so far down.

MissMummy1 · 15/10/2012 18:04

I have NEVER got a car through an MOT for less than £300! (and that was only because the garage lost my keys so knocked a fair whack off the bill when I kicked off!) I must either be a really shit driver, live near too many potholes or (most likely) just own really crap unreliable cars. Hoping this one fails drastically in March as I've been promised a new one for my birthday! ignores fact this car was only meant to do a few weeks in April when I wrote my beloved peugeot off.

Antenatal classes were surprisingly really good! Only 3 couples and a lovely lady there on her own so there were plenty of opportunities to chat/ask questions. Didn't really learn anything new but it was a great eye opener for dh as to what I'm about to go through and the effect it is having on me just now while my body prepares for it. He's offered to cook dinner tonight anyway! Grin

YW I would go mad. A fortnight in the sticks when I lived up north last year was bad enough, and I was working in Arbroath everyday!! Where we live now is the perfect balance between quaint wee village and 15 min train into the centre of edinburgh. (oh and there's a 2 bed cottage up for rent round the corner....!)

GTbaby · 15/10/2012 18:20

Gas and air doing nothing for me Sad When they examined me now. Really feels like I'm sucking on a straw.

In terms of water breaking its more the fact they have to do an internal to get to the waters! She's done a sweep. N I've walked about. But I'm exhausted. So going. To lay down for a bit then start walking again before nxt internal.

Just wana see my lil boy now. Won't b long.

Titsalinabumsquash · 15/10/2012 18:22

GT you're doing fab, induction and labour is bloody hard and tiring, I'm sure it won't be long before your boy is in your arms and it will all be very worth it. Hang in there chick! Smile

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/10/2012 18:33

You're doing great gt it'll all be over soon and you'll be holding your bubba, good luck!

kirrinIsland · 15/10/2012 18:34

Thanks everyone - I'm back home tomorrow, and I'm on the train rather than driving so shouldn't be too stressful.

YW where you live sounds wonderful, but I can imagine you must really feel the need for civilisation every now and then!

Good luck GT - hope things get moving soon.

Passmethecrisps · 15/10/2012 18:35

Aw GT I am thinking of you.

We are just about to head off to out first ante-natal class. Exciting!

applepieinthesky · 15/10/2012 18:37

Yeh £100 is good although I had spent a ridiculous amount of money on my car this year already. I've had new tyres, new brake pads and discs all round, new motors for the electric windows. So overall it's cost me a fortune this year but I couldn't be without it.

The last couple of days I've had lots of pressure really low down like baby is becoming engaged. If you can tell such a thing Hmm Whoever said they feel like their fanjo is going to fall out - that's how I feel now. Some strong Braxton Hicks as well, enough to alarm DP, but not regular.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 15/10/2012 18:40

The time has come. I have ordered my Dominos Vegi Mexicano and am having a glass of wine! Grin

TheDetective · 15/10/2012 18:46

I am bored Grin

This is gonna be a long wait isn't it....?!

Have had cramps all day, but more bottom cramps than anything Hmm I did have a VERY good sleep in between waking up though!! So don't think anything is going on here! I think I just need to get some lactulose! (It's in the cupboard but that means moving to get it out!)

Titsalinabumsquash · 15/10/2012 18:46

Baby has been crazy active today, chuffing hurts!
Finally got an apt for my whooping cough jab too... In 2 weeks time when I'll be days off 38 weeks Hmm
I'm really hoping he makes an appearance by then!

applepieinthesky · 15/10/2012 18:59

I had my wc jab today so he needs to stay put another 2 weeks at least.

horseylady · 15/10/2012 19:04

Car passed mot, was also serviced. Bill just over £200 which isn't too bad considering anything that goes wrong with it costs a small fortune!!

There's a few notes on it, including clutch and exhaust!! Have asked for a price so we can save.

Ditched yoga am going to go swimming tomorrow after seeing my nan. Tidied up the house after work. Feeling huge can't eat and feel like poo. Also lots of discharge today!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/10/2012 19:12

If you have the WC jab then baby arrives before two weeks would the immunity still be passed on via breastfeeding or does it not work like that?
