DP wants to put the radiators on Shock

I'm bloody boiling! I'm sat with the patio doors open when downstairs, and sleeping in the buff Grin

I think not... He can put a jumper on!!

horseylady · 14/10/2012 19:27

Detective I'm frozen!!!!

ValiumQueen · 14/10/2012 19:31

detective buy some Iron Brew. It counts as one of your five a day in Scotland.

TheDetective · 14/10/2012 19:33

Excellent! Will send DP out for one on the understanding its for the 'health of the baybeeeeee' haha!

Horsey, I'm like boil in a bag rice!

ValiumQueen · 14/10/2012 19:35

horsey eat a cookie. That will warm you up. Why do you think detective is so warm? There is always room for a cookie, no matter how sick or full you feel. Needs practice possibly Grin

ValiumQueen · 14/10/2012 19:38

I am so bloody grumpy today. I have been a horrible grumpy mummy and wife. Feel so very uncomfy, DD pooed in three of her 'for best' nappies, and she knows they are for wee's only! My arms feel like they are made of cement, and I have a shooting pain in my right hip, like a red hot fecking poker. Baby is doing star jumps which hurt! Grr!

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/10/2012 19:41

Am I right in thinking second+ babies can engage and disengage for a few weeks?

I'm having an argument debate with my friend, also how does it work, if her midwife says her baby is 2/5 palp does this mean she can feel 2/5ths of babies head and the other 3/5 are in the pelvis or does it mean 2 are in and the remaining 3 can be felt?

I thought it was the first but now I'm confused. Confused

horseylady · 14/10/2012 19:48

I thought it was how many fingers could fit under the babies head. Not under but the gap between. Which is the same thing!!

So 3/5 engaged more than 4/5, 2/5 more than 3/5.

Vq seriously I can't :( never been able too :( gutted!!!

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/10/2012 19:54

Now I'm very confused! Where's our resident midwife?! Grin

Catbag · 14/10/2012 19:59

2/5 palp means that 3/5 of the head is engaged, but it depends on how it's been written- my community mw writes how engaged the head is, so 3/5 engaged means that 2/5 are palpable. The doctor I saw at the labour ward wrote 3/5 palp, meaning that only 2/5 of the head is engaged. I believe that full-engagement is 5/5 engaged or 0/5 palp, but I'm quite happy to defer to those who know better!

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 14/10/2012 20:05

Just catching up. Think I am getting DDs chest infection as have been coughing horrendously.

I'm due a month today which is a weird thought! Dihydracodeine not doing that much for pain but I have juggled nursery around for DD so just need help on a Fri now.

TheDetective · 14/10/2012 20:06

Tits is right!

2/5 palpable is what can be felt. So therefore 3/5 engaged.

And yep babies can engage/unengage in subsequent pregnancies!

Passmethecrisps · 14/10/2012 20:07

Glad you are okay tits

Ikea was fun. Well, as fun as ikea ever is. Meatballs were delicious.

We got a chest of drawers, curtains, shelving and lighting for the baby's room. Theoretically that should be everything. Just need to get everything up and installed now. Poor DH is totally knackered - I told him that from this point on we decorate one room at a time not the whole house at once. There is still a huge amount to do - we currently have a huge sofa bed in our living room covering pretty much all of the floor because it came out of that room and won't be going back in.

horsey I never used to be a sweet toothed person and could easily ignore chocolate or biscuits. Not any more! It doesn't matter how full I am from my dinner I always want a sweet after.

Titsalinabumsquash · 14/10/2012 20:15

I thought I was right! Grin

All food from ikea is grim!!!! DP insists in meatballs, jam and gravy not really jam or gravy and mash when we go.

applepieinthesky · 14/10/2012 20:16

Great news tits

We had a roast chicken dinner too kissyfur. Was yummy. I cheated with lunch though - a Chicken Mexicano from Dominos. It's sophia's fault Wink

Passmethecrisps · 14/10/2012 20:22

tits! But meatballs, gravy and lingonberry sauce is completely delicious. Oh, and we had some ice cream as well.

All of it made my tummy happy

MissMummy1 · 14/10/2012 20:25

Chipper won (bleh). First time in ages we've not had a sunday roast - I feel cheated!!

PIL coming over at the end of the month. Fine. But they're bringing our obnoxious 7 year old niece and their dog. And 1 night has suddenly become 4...... And they're already moaning that I'll need to park my car on the street so they can have the driveway. Ffs!

We've just put on the heating for the first time ever in our new house. It's bliddy freezing tonight!!!

ValiumQueen · 14/10/2012 20:32

Ikea meatballs with gravy and lingonberry sauce are ace. Always cold, but ace.

YellowWellies · 14/10/2012 20:33

Why on earth would they need the driveway MM1 surely none of them can be less mobile than an 8.5 month preggo lady. Cheeky feckers. Fine if they need to park on the drive to unload but then they should move it.

DH is off out on a work reception tonight. So I've been having a horrifically bad tea Grin duck mini spring rolls and lebkuchen and cantaloupe melon. Have also made Somerset pork for tea tomorrow and filled our freezer with home made fruit and veg purees for when my sister and her wee daughter come up to help post baby.

Tits you're right on the engaged thingy but you are soooo wrong on the Ikea food. No one's perfect eh?

MissMummy1 · 14/10/2012 20:34

I'm going to do an ikea trip on thursday en route to work to pick up some baby hangers. MIGHT need to accidentally nip into the food market while I'm there...

MissMummy1 · 14/10/2012 20:38

Nope, they are extremely fit 50-something year olds. MIL "doesn't like street parking". Fecks sake. Tempted to let dh keep the green death trap for another week, simply because it won't run and is blocking the driveway. (in fairness it's actually closer to my front door parking the car on the street and easier to get in/out of as the driveway is under the house, but that's not the point!)

I'm just in an arsey stroppy mood today Blush

horseylady · 14/10/2012 20:39

I should have eaten a cookie straight away, but wanted a cup of tea with them. Then I had to go straight off to the stables. So my error was not eating it straight away!!!

Right tmi alert but just been to the loo and struggled again (after not being able to go for a couple of days) and there was quite a bit of red blood afterwards? At what point do you worry about bleeding from what i assume is a pile or something? Can I happily ignore it?!

Passmethecrisps · 14/10/2012 20:40

We almost always have a roast on a Sunday. DH did ask but the thought of trying to cook a roast in amongst the chaos that our house is put me off.

Had to change into my jammies when I got home as my jeans are just getting too uncomfortable. Looks like I will be a jammies in the house kind of girl for the next please don't let it be 5 few weeks

Passmethecrisps · 14/10/2012 20:46

MM I think your PIL are being astonishingly selfish. It's hardly like you live in the ghetto is it?

Maybe all us Jocks could have a post-baby meet in Ikea! Bring on the meatballs!

horsey that sounds really uncomfortable. Sorry I have no advice but I do wonder if a cautionary trip to the docs is worth considering. Would fibre drinks help you go thus avoid busting your bottom?

MissMummy1 · 14/10/2012 20:55

Defs up for an ikea meatball meet!

We live in scotland's safest village!! They are totally selfish bastards know where dh gets it from. I hate ranting and sounding like a total misery guts but their inability to see anyone else's needs never fails to shock me.
