Hello ladies. I hope you don't mind me threadcrashing briefly. Just wanted to personally thank you for all your congratulations and best wishes. It's early days (only 4+2- can't believe I'm here again - already started the perpetual knicker checking and off chocolate - damn it!!). We were on a mission Stunt!!! Anything to stop me franticly decorating, although at least my house looks fresh!! :o

Anyway, I will leave you all to your babies and bumbs - haven't read back so don't know who has had what, when or still to come. I see you can all still talk/type for England ;)

Take care ladies, and good luck!

YellowWellies · 13/10/2012 12:29

Yip sorry DH my WC jag was fine for about 24 hours and is still slightly tender to the touch 1.5 weeks later. Got a call from the surgery to drop in for my flu jag on Tuesday - no appointment needed. I feel like retorting 'there now that wasn't so hard was it?'.... Grin

Iheartpasties · 13/10/2012 12:31

comrade congrats on getting a house! what was the auction like? scary?!

YellowWellies · 13/10/2012 12:32

Yeah Little!!!!! Lots and lots of love to you, your DH and your bellydweller. We're all knicker checking too - but now for different reasons. It's very odd to want to see something in yer kecks.... but I'd love to see my mucus plug right now (well maybe not right now, as DH has gone fishing). Good luck hon - keep us updated xxxxx

Morning, love the name Violet. If I?d had a girl it would have been Eliza. Well, baby came home yesterday and it is great. Both older Dcs seem fairly smitten which is a relief as apparently dds 1st reaction when he was born was ?buut what am l going to tell my friends, we wanted a girl?. Main issue now is to do some emergency trouser shopping -stupidly never occurred to me that below the bump stuff would be sore after a c section (on that note, whoever recommended big granny pants is a life saver!)

So having a Billie and a Ben is not too cruel then? Billie is a Wilhelmina, which helps possibly?

GTbaby · 13/10/2012 12:45

In for my daily monitoring. They got me in a labour room today as triage is full. Weird being in here. Not cosy at all. I'm now classed as high risk. So a little scary.
This time tomorrow ill b here to have the baby!

Ps. I so badly want a jam rollypolly, just told hubby we have to go tesco on way home. Grin.

blonderthanred · 13/10/2012 12:45

We're all delighted for you Little. Lots of love.

Iheartpasties · 13/10/2012 12:48

VQ are you thinking about Bill and Ben the flower pot men?

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/10/2012 12:49

Congrats little fab news! I wish your pregnancy well and can't wait to hear from you when he/ she is here!

I quite like the name Dougie for a boy, not that we're having one and dh prob wouldn't like it anyway!

Baby has just perked up finally after having a v quiet afternoon/ eve/ night/ morning I was starting to worry but she's just had a wiggle around.

ValiumQueen · 13/10/2012 12:58

pasties. I am. I am old.

GT hoping you are soon in post-natal having lots of lovely newborn snuggles x

ComradeJing · 13/10/2012 12:59

little Best wishes for your pregnancy. As VQ says, here's to an easy and boring one!

Iheartp I didn't go! DH is in WA and I couldn't face a toddler, being pg and an auction so we got a pro bidder in who spoke to DH on the phone during the auction. HUNDREDS of people turned up to watch, 10 registered bidders including 2 pros (ours and another one) and one lady who walked through the house during the pre auction inspection and decided to buy it on the spot. The only people who ACTUALLY bid was our bidder, the other pro bidder and that lady.

DH got interviewed by the SMH via phone and it will all be in the paper tomorrow. Shock We really just bought it cos it was a lovely home - had no idea of the level of interest!

ComradeJing · 13/10/2012 13:00

Goodluck GT!

Night all... way past my bedtime now!

daisychain76 · 13/10/2012 14:12

Gt good luck for tomorrow. Lovely to think you?ll be cuddling your little one soon and all the stress will be a distant memory. Random thing but if you are not keen on internals/they are trting to break your waters don?t forget to ask for gas and air. It makes all the difference.

Many congrats little9 that is great news.

horseylady · 13/10/2012 14:58

My big horse is called hope. Or monster, or moose. A lot depends on how she's behaving!! Then again all my pets have human names. Apart from fat cat!!

I really like Benedict!!

Congrats little really pleased for you! Here's to a boring pregnancy!!

Right I've just agreed to work tonight, now I've sat down everything hurts!! Bloody typical!! Think I'll go for a quick ride and then have a bath.

Good luck tomorrow gt as well!!

applepieinthesky · 13/10/2012 15:03

Good luck GT just think of the end result and how amazing it will be to hold your baby in your arms. So jealous!

How lovely to have him home daisy

Evilwater · 13/10/2012 15:18

little huge congrats. I hope it's a long and boring pregnancy for you.

I can't believe it's been a week with nicky. We have had our first outing today, to his great grandma, he was asleep the whole time. She was very thrilled, and he looked super cute. I have pic somewhere.

I'm expressing in to a bottle and that's going fab. He is taking it all down, and his weight is now 6 pounds. DP bought a dummy, as he has started to cry for comfort.

Any one got any opinions on dummies?
Evil

horseylady · 13/10/2012 15:30

Evil ive read about them, research by the companies shows it reduces SIDS by 0.01% than those who don't use them.

I don't plan on using one in the early days as I plan on breast feeding and don't want confusion nor to tire the baby by him suckling constantly. However, my thoughts were if he started thumb or finger sucking, to replace that with a dummy, as a dummy is better than fingers!! I don't yet have a baby though lol!!

Really pleased things are going well for you! Great to hear he's growing and eating well!! How are you feeling?

georgee · 13/10/2012 15:33

Hi Evil, sounds blissful with little Nick, so pleased for you.

With dummies I'm of the philosophy 'whatever gets you through.' DD is a thumb sucker but I will have a dummy on standby for DC2. The only disadvantage with them is that if they're sleeping with them and they fall out they sometimes wake up and cry for you to put them back in, which can be a pain. Obviously you don't get that problem with thumbs! Although our problem now is that DD has a permanent callous on the top of her thumb because she sucks it so much. And I don't have any idea if/when she'll stop. Her father still sucks his thumb when he thinks I'm not looking.

Evilwater · 13/10/2012 15:36

At the moment, tired. I'm waiting for him to settle, but it will probably take a few hours, at which point ill need to feed him again. Confused

He keeps trying to eat/ suck his arm and hands after I've feed him, I'm not sure what it means.

If any hormonal ladies would like a good wibble - have a read of this amazing blog My Amazing Maisie it details the struggle of a wee lass called Maisie born at only 25 weeks back in May - she has just gone home from the NICU! (The same hospital my wee niece was at). For anyone who wonders why I rant about our media's trivialising the difficulty of having a prem (Eastenders grrrrr), and for all of us to be thankful that our wee ones have held on so far into the third trimester - have a read of Maisie's heartwarming blog (by her very devoted Daddy) and be thankful for modern medicine.
