Insomnia getting to me now...would just like a full nights sleep. Worried about making mistakes at work as so tired :( roll on this time next week! Am definitely ready to finish now.

FatimaLovesBread · 12/10/2012 06:33

Wooo last Friday at work!! And I'm only working 7ish till 11 then midwife

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/10/2012 06:37

Morning all. Really gt you think the pillow is worth it. I can't remember from last time. Maybe I will leave one in the car and if I am going to be in for a stay like with DS as DH to bring it in.

Hoping you are doing okvq

mm yw I Have to say, IMO M & P nightwear is the best, I had some with DD1 and I have bought a nightie this time in the sale. I feel lush in mine.

apple I would be a mess if that happened to me. Big up your mum. I nope you feel ok about it today.

Xx

Have a great last day fatima

MissMummy1 · 12/10/2012 06:58

Have a great last day fatima!

I am wide awake this morning (probs because I slept for more than 3 hrs last night!) so took dh to work even though i don't need the car and today should have been my lie in. All the roads here are badly flooded it's horrible. Debating whether or not a trip to IKEA is worth it or not?

I think junior's established a pattern. Freak mummy out by not moving all day then at bedtime or the sound of daddy's voice, go mental! Hopefully not a sign of things to come!!

Detective hope your night got a little easier and you get lots of sleep today xxx I've never done nights but my partner does night rotations offshore and I know how knackered they make him!

ComradeJing · 12/10/2012 07:09

Iheartpasties I thought you would have been on the October PN thread for some reason but yes I remember we're due at similar times and in Sydney!

We're living in Millers Point at the moment but going into auction TOMORROW for a house in Penshurst. I bloody love it so fingers crossed. Settlement would be in 6 weeks so a week after my due date. Can't say DH & I do anything by halves... Hmm

On another note I'm increasingly sore and worried that I should ask DH to come home. He's in Western Aus at the moment so a good 4 hour flight away plus time difference. Fire alarm yesterday and I had to walk down 23 flights of stairs with DD on my hip. Bump is moving weirdly and my lower back is sore and I hurt everywhere. Not sure if it's just muscle aches or that the "stress" has pushed my body a bit.

StuntNun · 12/10/2012 07:13

MM does your OH have a deep voice? Maybe baby can hear that more clearly and responds to it?

I have to see the midwife today for my 36wk appointment today. I take it she'll want to see me at 38wks as well? Then I have my two vaccinations late afternoon hides and runs away from the scary needles.

Tomorrow we have to take DS2 to his climbing lesson at 9 am, then swimming lessons for both DSs. I don't even remember Saturday morning lie ins anymore. Sad but then they are both going to a party in the afternoon so DH and I are going to Ikea to get their bedroom furniture and to Lakeland to buy a do-it-yourself sausage making kit! I'm going to make pork and Stilton sausages for us and pork and pancetta sausages for the kids. Yum! Then we have dinner at Pizza Express with DH's brother's ex-fiancée and her DH and two DDs. Now that's a complicated relationship! It's a shame they split up, she would have been a brilliant SIL, but they had a disasterous breakup.

So a busy couple of days for me. There's also an Autumnfest on on Sunday but after yesterday's trip to Tesco I don't think I can handle it.

I wonder if there'll be any more babies today? Legs crossed everyone.

mm1 yuck to the flooding, only go out in the car if it is safe!!

comrade when is your dh due home? the aches and pains sound awful. I find if I have to carry dd (18 months) I have to carry her like she is a log, with my arm around her middle but with her lying down!? she hates it!!

Iheartpasties · 12/10/2012 07:18

sausage making! woh! I love master chef Australia and they always have a massive disaster making sausages!! :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/10/2012 07:20

I didn't take a pillow with ds (didn't think about it) could have done with it tbh, I had to sleep with the top end of the bed upright as it was easier to feed him that way and only had one thin hosp pillow. But tbh with all the noise of the ward and ds crying to be fed at 3am I got NO sleep that night (and every night thereafter til this day) Grin

I'm keeping on top of my eyebrows now, they are so big and bushy if I leave them (inherited from my dad, thanks!) so they don't look too bad.

I was awake from half 3 onwards last night don't know how long for. Couldn't get comfy, needed the loo, strange dreams these days and a friggin blocked nose.

horseylady · 12/10/2012 07:22

Last day at work :(

ValiumQueen · 12/10/2012 07:27

I am not surprised you hurt CJ. A pg woman should not have to do that, although down stairs is preferable to up them.

I slept really well. No more pains since 6pm last night. No more blood or mucous. It was very strange waking up with the Moses basket next to the bed!

ValiumQueen · 12/10/2012 07:32

I think it was madam who was hoping for a 1 night stay post ELCS. I honestly think that would be pushing it. I fully understand the desire to be home, but I went home after two nights and that was plenty soon enough. I was the only mum who went home after two nights, and that was because of how distressed DD1 was.. The other mums stayed another night and thought I was mad.

Lilliana · 12/10/2012 07:41

Oh no Chunky, I'm hoping they stay away for the next 2 weeks as we are due them too. Hope it went well and you haven't got too stressed and have been looking after yourself.

WRT waxing, never again. I had my legs done as a trial before my wedding (thank god I did) every pore blistered and every time my trousers brushed against them they broke. It was agony for weeks; I have never been tempted again (and am so thankful I started on my legs and not my fanjo!)

Not seen my fanjo for a month so god knows what it looks like but tbh I don't do much apart from wave a razor in its general direction occasionally so guess I will join Pass VQ* Stunt and others in the wilderness ladygarden club!

Detective I am now intrigued about the memerable 'picture frame'!

OMG VQ please keep things like that to yourself you will give my Dh ideas!

So pleased for Little, Congratulations if you are around!

DH gave me my christmas present last night, a really nice camera with fancy lenses and the like - think our baby is going to be well photographed! Been playing around with it but with all the rain and flooding there's not alot to look at atm!

Brockle · 12/10/2012 07:52

That is wonderful news little. It has given me a huge smile this morning.

I am only at page 8 of this thread but would like to show delayed admiration for VQ 's BJ skills in the face of early labour. My DH will not be so lucky.

MW and consultant now can't decide if baby is up or down. Apparently his bottom and head feel very similar Grin They will have another go at 36 weeks in two weeks. The kids are now calling him super agent baby. They obv watch too much phineas and ferb.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 12/10/2012 08:29

Yes that was me VQ - I was quite shocked when the MW mentioned that 1 night might be possible, but I was home after two nights after cat 1 EMCS under GA and felt physically ok, and emotionally and mentally it was a huge improvement going home.

Am presuming that if the ELCS is early in the morning, goes well and my recovery is as smooth as it was for the EMCS (or hopefully better), I could be home the next afternoon. I wouldnt go if I didnt feel up to it, but will have DH and my Mum at home to look after us, and will be MUCH happier at home. So if it is possible, I imagine I'll take it.

Enjoy your last day apple. I'm exactly like you, its mainly the routine and sociability of work that I like so much, but I do like my work and clients too. Am going out for an all you can eat chinese buffet at lunchtime, having already had pizza hut with my team this week . Despite my pleas I also suspect I will not dodge a whole-office public humiliation presentation. Its very kind of people, but monumentally embarassing. Still, a shed load of actual work to get through first...

horseylady · 12/10/2012 08:38

Madame mine was yesterday!! I went bright red!! Still so kind of people!!

Right must not cry!!

TheDetective · 12/10/2012 08:57

Fucked.

Night.

Next week quite busy, then mums off the week after, sister the week after that, then due date week then who knows!!!

will miss work, got a couple of shifts at the pub though and plan to do lots of walking, some riding and lots of cleaning!! House looks like a bomb site we've just not been home this week!!

ShellyBobbs · 12/10/2012 09:44

Ewww housework. That's what I've got planned for today. First job, shampoo downstairs carpet.....

ValiumQueen · 12/10/2012 09:51

Don't over-do it shelly. That sounds like a tiring job.

Today I am catching up with washing, and also washing the newborn nappies and the gro bags. Whilst chasing after a 2yo. Should be fun.

StuntNun · 12/10/2012 09:54

After walking the boys to school (an epic 2/3rds of a mile) I sat down for 'just five minutes of OBEM before I start the ironing' and the shopping channel is telling me I have to buy an X5 steam cleaner. Okay it looks great on the ad but does it really work? I seem to remember folks in here talking about steam cleaners, does anyone have this steam cleaner or similar? I've all but given up on the grout in my bathroom and don't even ask about the oven. I should just sign up for Which? and find out for myself I suppose. I like the idea of cleaning without chemicals as well since I have sensitive skin. Oh well, on to the ironing then...

Morning. Good luck to all those of you having your last days of work today. My first week has for very quickly if that reassures you (I have to admit having checked my work email several times hhought - even though it is a holiday and noone is there!) I do worry about havig another 5 weeks of this though.

I am off to stay with my parents for a night. Mostly just because my dad keeps saying "have you ever stayed the night in our new house? There's a whole spare room you know?" And this might be the last chance without a baby. It does also give DH some time alone to get on with the decorating which needs done. It's something to do beyond what I achieved yesterday - lying around and sleeping.

I am amazed that I slept at all last night considering I had two naps during the day. I have only recently woken up so I reckon I must have needed it. I am really glad I'm not working anymore though as my sleeping patterns are not really conducive.

Oh and apple good on you for reporting that driver. I reported someone for driving, at speed, over a zebra crossing which was covered in children on their way to school. Despite the fact that it was witnessed by at least two other cars I was the only one to report it. They did go and see the driver though. If more people took responsibility the roads would be safer.

MissMummy1 · 12/10/2012 10:03

Is it a green and white one stunt ? If so I bought one new on ebay and couldn't live without it! It's got attachments to clean everything (windows, wooden floors, carpets, worktops, bathroom tiles, shower etc). It really is as fab as it looks on the adverts - and a bit of shopping around bought mine for £40!
