Congratulations to little it's brilliant news and wishing you all the best through your pregnancy xx

With waxing/shaving I hvent saw my lady bits for a long time but will attempt to do something with them before D-day. Have my hair booked in next week, it's long over due but something I keep putting off

Damn can't remember what else.....

StuntNun · 12/10/2012 10:19

Great news MM it looks good on the advert but you can't tell how faked that is. I've been thinking about getting one for a while but if I'm going to be home all the time I may as well get some proper cleaning done rather than relying on emergency 'someone's coming to visit blitzes'. I started using the Flylady.net system a few months ago and it's working really well but it's having the right tools to clean as well. I finally got a decent vacuum cleaner last month which is making life easier.

Sophia they are lovely I agree - couldn't justify the £125 price tag new though even though they are the first maternity nightwear that makes me feel vaguely attractive (sorry for outbidding you MM1!). And of course there should be a price premium for allowing me to fit into a size 10 trouser at the present moment! I think I'll be living in them until and after the birth to be honest, must remember to add them to the note for DH of things to run around and get and add to the hospital bag, will also add my pillow - ta GT for that tip.

MissMummy1 · 12/10/2012 10:27

I was really sceptical at first as well stunt but it does make cleaning so easy! I was utterly disgusted the first time I used it on my - what I thought were - brilliant white bathroom tiles! And the best bit is you can guarantee everything is perfectly sanitised and clean without using chemicals. I especially like mine for the stainless steel surface around the kitchen sink and the top of our range cooker. (and the fact I'm a lazy arse and it makes cleaning jobs that would normally take ages and lots of effort so quick and easy!)

MissMummy1 · 12/10/2012 10:29

YW I am currently sporting DH's 'attractive' large man jammies. They are uber comfy though and they have pockets! I think I'll keep them...

YellowWellies · 12/10/2012 10:51

I love DH's man jammies! They've been living in my chest of drawers since I was about 16 weeks. Poor man there'll be a fight for them once I'm no longer preggers.... Grin

kirrinIsland · 12/10/2012 11:05

I've got a steam cleaner too stunt it's great :) Makes everything very easy!

Iheartpasties · 12/10/2012 11:37

I was thinking of gettinga steam cleaner/mop thingy. It's so hard to decide which one to get, some have great reviews mixed in with terrible ones!!

VQ So everything seems to have quietened down a bit for you? It's so exciting hearing about contractions and early labour etc. I've got my fingers crossed for catbag though, I am well impressed with those twins staying power!

Sorry to hear of floods in the UK, it's not too good.

I have given the spare room a big blitz this afternoon, it's all clean and spic and span and the cupboard is all sorted. feels great. Mum and dad will stay in there for a few weeks when they visit and then it will eventually be a bedroom for either dd or this new one, depends what happens (how long new baby is in our room). I washed the windows, on the inside and took down the fly screen and stepped off the chair with it but caught my bum and it really hurt and then i shouted at dh, because it was his fault ????!! dont ask me how, but he said he wasnt a mind reader!! which of course he isnt but it would be handy sometimes if he was!!! hahaha. I am waiting on some stuff from ebay to arrive, but its coming from china so i got funny emails today telling me they had been dispatched - but the english used was a bit mangled, but quite funny. I ordered a whole heap of storage type thingies so the insides of my cupboards will be all in order forverer! yey.

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/10/2012 11:47

I've been thinking about getting a steam cleaner for ages too. I think I'll get one soon. I mainly want it for my wooden floors, am very bored of mopping them. I've already put a slow cooker down on my birthday wish list. Perhaps I'll add a steam mop to it. What an exciting birthday Smile

StuntNun · 12/10/2012 12:03

Pasties I was looking at reviews on Amazon and it was amazing how many people complained that steam cleaning left everything wet! After they had filled the thing with water too, what did they thing steam was made of exactly. I think I will get one because with being home all day I'm noticing how dirty the floors are getting, especially with the boys running in and out and the dog and cat shedding everywhere. It won't be long before there's a baby crawling around putting everything into his mouth. I plan to enjoy this last winter of the open fire before we have to put that big ugly fire guard back up. Sad Btw MM thanks for that eBay tip, the X5 cleaner I was admiring this morning is about £25 cheaper from there.

Need opinions, my bag has been dispatched and I've been tracking it, at 9:45 am it said 'courier received' do you think that means its being delivered today?

Brockle · 12/10/2012 12:39

Maybe but usually the courier delievers the day after they receive it. You never know your luck Smile

Crib bedding is in the washing machine, car seat, crib and moses basket are out of the loft for cleaning. Six weeks to go and everything feels more real now Smile

Iheartpasties · 12/10/2012 12:56

stuntnun yes!! the amazon reviews can be quite funny, like people complaining because you have to sweep the floor before using the steam mop, and like you say complaining because it leave the floor wet. I think some poeple are waka-doodle (sorry just watched big bang theory) and some of the biggest moaners are probably writting the most reviews.

I had been looking at a steam mop with fab reviews but it was $200, and I just couldnt decide if the reviews even seem real!! there was one review left every single day, seemed a bit fake.

misslaughalot · 12/10/2012 13:09

Woo hoo! FINALLY ordered our nursery furniture today, after Tesco blocked my credit card when I tried to do it online last night. Had to call the fraud investigation team, and explain that we're expecting a baby next month so, yes, that's why our credit card spending has risen in the last couple of months (even though we pay it off in full each time)!

Anyway, we went for this one from Next and I love it!

Congratulations to Little, what fantastic news!

Apple I'm very glad you reported that driver, and that the police were going to visit him. There are too many aggressive drivers around who seem to forget they're in control of a very dangerous vehicle with their attitude, well done you!

Iheartpasties · 12/10/2012 13:15

misslaugh lovely nursery furniture!!!!

FatimaLovesBread · 12/10/2012 13:40

Had my 34 week midwife appointment, baby is still big and starting to get it's head engaged. Hence things being a bit more uncomfortable.
She's said I can go to the birth centre closest to us! This one's 20 mins away and is attached to a hospital but only midwife led. The other one is at the hospital 40 mins away where they also have a NICU etc.
She says to go visit and see what I think and if I want to go there she'll book an appointment with the consultant to ok it.

I hadn't though of going there as I didn't think I would be allowed but i'd like to so now i'm a bit excited. Only drawback is i'm worried about wanting an epidural, if I wanted one there i'd have to be transferred to the other hospital which probably means they'll try encourage me that I don't want. I'm hoping to cope with G&A, TENs and birth pool but at the bigger hospital the back up of an epidural is more accessible.
These are my options if anyone is interested? Is anybody planning on having an epidural or having it as a back up?

StuntNun · 12/10/2012 13:49

Pasties the Reevoo website is quite good because they tell you which reviewers have made a purchase.

kirrinIsland · 12/10/2012 14:05

Fatima as I spend the latter part of my last labour wishing I had had the epidural I definitely intend to at least have the option this time!

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/10/2012 14:30

Oooh I really want the bag to come todayyy! I'm staying in all afternoon anyway just in case.

horseylady · 12/10/2012 14:34

Last day done!!!! Only shed a couple of a tears!! Am pleased with myself!!

Right with dogs, off to do horse then work at the pub!! Dh at a beer festival on his 'last piss up' bless him!! Pretty certain he'll be out next Friday night too!!

kissyfur · 12/10/2012 14:40

Is it a changing bag you've got coming from asos dh21? Which one is it?

YellowWellies · 12/10/2012 14:45

Fatima I'm going to be birthing somewhere where the nearest epidural is 150 miles and an air ambulance trip away. It would be nice to know I could have one but equally in some ways - knowing that I can't and will just have to cope is quite empowering. I can be a bit of a wuss and panic early, so it is going to force me to (wo)man up I guess. There is no way the NHS will airlift me south just because I want an epidural. Gulp.... I have to decide by 37 weeks, and if I do want one they'll ship me south to Aberdeen then and I'll have to wait for labour down there. I really don't fancy potentially up to a month in the Orkney Mum's dorm down there so am going to chance it without epidural. If it helps no one I know (from south) birthed with one so it's not totally dark ages to do it without x

ValiumQueen · 12/10/2012 14:55

If you are induced, access to an epidural is a must if the drip is used IMO as the contractions are pretty brutal and you have not had a chance to work up to it. If you start naturally, then there are other effective pain relief options available. Epidurals are good, but can lead to other interventions sometimes. I would see how you go.

YW that is a hard decision for a first time mum to make, but you are made of tough stuff, and it sounds as if you will have very good midwife support there.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/10/2012 14:57

kissy well it's a bag I'm planning to use as a changing bag! It's this one

Hope that link works I'm on my phone so it's the mobile site.

kissyfur · 12/10/2012 15:10
