Jenbird I don't know; if you find out please could you tell me. I hate soggy fishcakes too. Could the pan be too hot?

Apple my Lab is well behaved apart from with my FIL who she jumps up on and licks his face and begs shamelessly from. It's because he likes that and he has positively encouraged her to do it. She would never lick anyone else's face ever. Can you ask you FIL to ignore the dog when he comes in the house and not pay any attention until the dog is sitting quietly? We did that with our dog and now when she really wants attention she sits, in her tiny pea-sized brain that's her best behaviour.

Seeing as this thread is running out after only four days I have set up a new one early. We wouldn't want to be left homeless when the current thread ends, after all.

New thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1584066-November-2012-babies-arriving-early-and-impatient-mummies-to-be

Remember there is also a thread in the post-natal topic for baby chat for the new mummies: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/1579907-November-2012-babies-are-here-at-last.

Four days? Wow, we are becoming v. talkative indeed!

VQ I second your motion and in fact demand that all ladies cease and desist from birthing in the imminent future, lest I cry again. I read out your post to DH earlier VQ and he misheard 'shagging and pineapple', thinking instead that i had said 'shagging A pineapple'. His face was a picture!

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 21:13

You never know catbag perhaps combining the two is the way to go Grin Shock

kirrinIsland · 09/10/2012 21:16

I love the name Elijah, and the 'nn Eli.

We're no closer to narrowing down a name - hopefully inspiration will hit nice she's here?!

kirrinIsland · 09/10/2012 21:17

Nice = once!

YellowWellies · 09/10/2012 21:20

'Lou ee' is the French pronunciation and Louis the French spelling no? 'Loo-is' and Lewis are the Scots aren't they? Or am I totally confused?

Catbag my DH misheard and thought I'd said 'shagging a pineapple too'. Dirty buggers....

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/10/2012 21:21

apple bloody Tesco direct. I had it as well, I ordered four things.

I had an email saying three had arrived but 1 was unavailable.

When I went to pick up there were three things including the unavailable thing but not one other thing.

I called them they said they would have it delivered to my house.

It didn't arrive. I went to s,tore, not there.

About a week later it did arrive. In store. Apparently they received four!

Then I kept getting emails saying I hadn't picked it up!

I could have had three free kitchen bins.

I also got lots of extra Hama Beads sets Grin that will keep me occupied waiting forthe baby.

Dixiebell · 09/10/2012 21:22

Chris Evans' baby called Eli I think.

My sis told me once she loves Jaxon. I said no! Bleurgh.

NervousAt20 · 09/10/2012 21:29

Wow a new thread already!

How was the dominos? Think it seemed like the most popular dinner option for tonight Grin

At home in bed and feel like crap Sad my bump is quite painful, not sure why but like 1 long BH but abit more painful an achy back so going to have hot water bottle for by back and hope I fall asleep quick, have a feeling I'm going to have a restless night though

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2012 21:31

What are the general thoughts on raspberry leaf tea? When to start drinking? How much to drink? Is it likely to make any difference at all?

Not so keen on the idea of shagging a pineapple. Spiky. We do have a pineapple actually. . .

catbag you can definitely go next. The rest of us shall politely queue behind you.

pikz · 09/10/2012 21:33

Congratulations Donna!

I always seem to be bout 12 pages behind!

Had Breast feeding class last night, the boys had to demonstrate breast feeding positions and the material babes arm fell off and then they tried to describe latching on with a knitted boob....actually cried laughing so much!

jenbird · 09/10/2012 21:34

stunt it appears shallow frying and hot oil do the trick although by the time I got to that part they were literally just lumps of mash. In the end they were crispy lumps though!

I like the name Elijah. My neighbours little boy is called Elijah and I rarely hear her shorten it. We have boys names sorted but nothing for a girl that we can agree on.

I am 34 weeks today. Had a MW app today and all was fine. Haven't quite got my head around the fact that I will be having a baby soon. Bought some wipes and sponges yesterday but that is all I have got round to doing. Currently decorating house so can't have a baby anytime soon anyway! Although have to say am a little bit jealous of those who are imminent.

My dh has gone out tonight. He will be out 3 nights this week inconsiderate git so I have to deal with homework, tea, clearing up, lunches etc by myself and then add that to the real work I need to do then I think I may be up rather late this week. Instead however I am just looking at the carnage from the kitchen table hoping it will disappear. Some how I think not. Better crack on....

Catbag · 09/10/2012 21:36

Lol, thanks Pass. Now, if I could just persuade the babies...

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 21:39

Feeling guilty for filling up thread with inane chatter... d'oh!

It's only gonna get worse ladies. Once I'm off for good.... !

Catbag · 09/10/2012 21:41

Detective Don't you dare apologise! Feel like this inane chatter is the only thing keeping me sane at the moment!

horseylady · 09/10/2012 21:41

Just had my leaving do. Was fab!! My colleuges are very funny!! Good food too. I now feel quite sad!! Will miss them!!

Didn't eat much but feel stuffed!! And huge!! I think the baby is doubling in size daily!! 3 days left!! Not got much to do either it's so strange?!!

We used to have dominoes quite regularly but it got really really expensive. So we tend to buy from the supermarket and cook!! So much cheaper :( shame as they are very tasty!!!

I still like Etienne for our boy.

horseylady · 09/10/2012 21:42

Detective - in all fairness you've been giving me something to read all day lol!!

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 21:45

I get lonely talking to myself! Made worse today by DP being in work and DS at his dads! There was nothing for me to do, and no one to talk to!

GTbaby · 09/10/2012 21:49

Tesco food binge today consists of short bread fruit biscuits, harribo, gold bars, tracker bars, Jaffa cakes, caprisun , flake yogurt, profiteroles, choc Sundays, jam tarts, spaghetti hoops , pineapple , grapes n witch hazel. Lol. Some of the stuff will b taken to hospital on Sunday.

Got excited today as I realised I can buy a Halloween costume for fraggle. Grin. Starting to sink in a bit now.

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2012 21:50

I have only been off two days and I am bored. This chat is completely vital!

We DH make out own pizza bases using the bread maker. Pretty yummy. I still like the odd Pizza Express bought in from Sainbury's

Catbag · 09/10/2012 21:55

Good grief GT! I'd have to down buckets of Gaviscon after that sort of feast! I had some warmed ginger cake with cold custard for lunch and just know that I'll be paying for it at about 4 tomorrow morning :s

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2012 21:56

GT Sunday will be awesome as you will get to have newborn snuggles. A bit of anxiety is totally fair - glad you are starting to settle in to the idea though.

Dixiebell · 09/10/2012 21:57

My friend just texted to say she's had her baby today - a boy called Lucas. Ahh. DH suggested Pip the other day. I said no.

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2012 22:10

Pip as in literally just pip? Cute name. Maybe for a hamster though
