Sorry catching up on thread whilst making tea. Crazy pregnant lady alert ( sounds like I'm not the only one ;0) ).

Peaky1 · 09/10/2012 18:29

That's great news Detective. Maybe you have one (some) of those workers that only delight in the doom n gloom in everything and like to cause misery. I call them the 'yes, but...' people. How's the groin by the way? Can also be referred pain from pubis area of pelvis, hips, lumbar spine, sacrum etc etc...or just a pulled groin! Hopefully that pitiful 1 paracetamol has been your saviour.

Our pizzas have been ordered! MM - you can do what I do as I never eat a whole large pizza in one go. Order the pizzas to get the discount, eat a couple of slices tonight if you get hungry but save leftovers for lunch or dinner tomorrow. Winning!

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 18:47

I think catbag should go next. I think we should all cross our legs and avoid raspberry leaf tea, shagging and pineapple until she has had her twins. I think it is only fair.

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 18:56

Jenbird The answer is Dominoes. You know you want to.... Grin

The non malting dog has made a liar out of me. I went upstairs and she followed me and started going absolutely mental for no reason - she is normally pretty calm unless someone knocks on the door then its a free for all but the end result was me with a giant bloody labrador in my arms hoiking her on the sofa in to a cuddle to calm her. And now I'm covered in itchy annoying dog hair. And she is sleeping peacefully at my feet. Cow.

Wonder what spooked her Confused

Peaky not one, but two miserable buggers :( And the groin is half better. I suspect a second paracetomol would have made it all better. I am asking DP to replenish stocks so I can have a full dose tonight!

DP finishes work in T minus 5 minutes Grin d'ya think I could order it now?!

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 18:57

I agree VQ especially as my baby is not allowed to come until at least 6th November. Or at the very very least, after 28th Oct. But definitely not on my birthday. I don't want to cry on my birthday Grin

rowingdowntheriver · 09/10/2012 19:06

Hmmm, have just had a nice day out with DS and DH but now my DH has really peed me off. After being on my feet all day he suggested I have lie down while he feeds DS.. So I have a snooze for an hour and when I come downstairs ask what time his friends are arriving this evening (they are coming over for dinner) to which I got the response that he doesn't know and he has been doing everything while I sleep and why am I accusing him of doing nothing?!? He also made a fuss this morning when I said I'm not cooking dinner this evening, we can get Indian takeaway, he said that he didn't think we should invite people over then serve them takeaway (lord knows why) so I said in which case he could cook. He sulked off without saying anything.

Last thing I want is dinner guests tonight, am knackered and now in a mood with DH Angry

Sorry for the rant. Had to get it off my chest before going back downstairs to join him.

applepieinthesky · 09/10/2012 19:09

DH I'm not due until the 16th so our dates are not far apart. Worried I'm going to be the only one left here. The midwife has told me to prepare to go overdue as first babies are generally late. Not if this thread is anything to go by!

Fatima I have a similar gripe with Tesco Direct although I haven't been waiting as long as you. We ordered a dishwasher the Saturday before last and were told it would be delivered within 4-5 days. Kept checking online and it said it was scheduled for the 5th. DP stayed in all day and didn't take the dog for a walk in case he missed the delivery men. Checked online again in the afternoon and they had changed the delivery date to the 11th. DP has rearranged his day off this week especially so if it doesn't arrive Thursday I'm going to call them and let rip.

applepieinthesky · 09/10/2012 19:17

Detective I've also got a mental Labrador today. He is generally quite calm but for some reason whenever my dad comes round he goes mental. The second my dad leaves he goes and sits down on the rug and doesn't move Hmm Now I'm all upset because my parents are going to be round a lot more when baby is here and I don't know how I'll cope with it. Feel pathetic Sad He won't stop jumping on my dad so I have to put him outside then he doesn't stop barking. When it's just me and DP here he never jumps or barks at all. I don't know what the answer is and now I'm sitting here crying.

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 19:19

Any thoughts on Elijah as a name? Thinking Elijah Jacob? Too biblical?? Elijah what though? Oh god help me. We need a name for this baby!

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 19:27

We considered Elijah, but I preferred Eli. It is biblical, but a lot of the popular names are.

I know a little boy called Jackson, or at least that is what I thought. Turns out it is spelt Jaxon.

YellowWellies · 09/10/2012 19:35

Eeegad 'Jaxon' why didn't his parents just call him 'Chav' and be done with it. That's an awful name and makes it look like his family is illiterate... miaow bitchy YW

Elijah is lovely! My nephew is Jacob, it's a gorgeous name too.

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 19:42

YW I only know him through his grandma. I have never met his parents. I loved his name before I saw the spelling.

Still going for Grayson here. I think.

applepieinthesky · 09/10/2012 19:44

My auntie's 4 month old is called Elijah. I like it and she gets lots of positive comments about it. We sometimes call him Eli for short.

YellowWellies · 09/10/2012 19:57

Jackson I like - Jaxon I loathe! Grayson I like very much, particularly because it's got a nice sentimental twist. I do like unusual names. But basically a crazy random (Grin) preference of mine is that names are spelt correctly (I do realise I am a grammar Nazi) this is after going to school with kids whose parents called them names like Michael (spelt Micheal) and Michelle (spelt Mishelle) but who couldn't spell said names. I felt so sorry for these kids who spent their teenage years being thought to be so dumb they couldn't spell their own names :(

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2012 20:02

Hello.

Lesson of the day - fistfuls of haribo sour mix immediately before yoga does not a happy passme make. Trying to focus on breathing while swallowing throatfulls of bile is hard.

Bloody blobs tits? Yikeseramma! Keep us posted.

I bought the last bits for my bag today - nursing bras from Debenhams and mini-toiletries. No excuse for not getting it packed tomorrow. Bought a nice new bag as well. Just need to get on with it now. 36 weeks tomorrow so really need to get my head out of my arse the sand

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2012 20:04

YW I hear ya! I have lots of stories of differently spelled names and the impact it has - can't tell them but know that they exist. Jaxon is horrid

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 20:06

How is your leg now detective?

kissyfur · 09/10/2012 20:19

Love the name Elijah, and Jackson. Think we've decided on Louis for a boy. Still undecided on girls names tho

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 20:22

DD 1 wants to call baby Louis because of One Direction, because she loves him and he is cool.

kissyfur · 09/10/2012 20:26

Oh I didn't realise there was a Louis in One Direction! How would you pronounce it Lou-is or Lou-ee? I want it to be pronounced Lou-ee but spell it the French way, Louis. There was a whole thread on this but I don't think a general consensus was reached Hmm

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 20:28

Forgot to say... Aldi have a few baby things in. Nothing particularly exciting, but they do have Tommee Tippee bottles and also food storage containers. I got the packs of three little pots with lids, that are ideal for home made baby food, and I even used them for storing breast milk. They are 3 for £1. I recommend getting some if you see them.

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 20:30

Loo ee I think.

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 20:30

He is rather cute.

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 20:33

Hmmmm. See I really don't like Eli, and that is what is putting me off going with Elijah!

I am also the least biblical person in the world ever. Bar none. Except maybe DP.

Oh, the leg is great now! It stopped hurting a few days before I was due the venogram, so I didn't go. Assuming pulled muscle. I seem to have a habit for that....!

Apple Dogs are strange creatures, aren't they? Mine just does random weird things. Makes it difficult to train out of!

CandyPop · 09/10/2012 20:34

love the name Elijah esp as it can be NN Eli. Would have been a top contender for us if we were having a boy. Shame we dont have any girls name STILL.... hmm..... really need to start working on that!

starting to feel a little nervous and need to get things prepared after losing a bit of my mucs plug on sunday (only a snotty teaspoonful mind you Grin .

I have my baby shower on saturday . Cant wait. Need to make mini cookies for gifts. What can a mass bake?? need to make enough for like 30 ppl!
