OMG I can't believe that there is a Dec06 thread all ready, I was on the Dec05 thread last year and belive me it flies by my DS was actually born 5 and a half weeks early in November so be warned.

Hi Minnie hope everything is OK!!!

suwoo · 10/04/2006 12:36

OK, so as a follow up to my last post, I have done clearblue digital and comes up 'Pregnant' is that pretty conclusive then?????

Angsthase · 10/04/2006 14:28

Sounds like it to me! Congratulations Grin

Debbsy · 10/04/2006 18:33

Deffo suwoo i did 4 all under a minute went to pregnant,Congratulations and welcome

jabberwocky · 10/04/2006 21:38

Congratulations, suwoo! I did a clearblue digital as well. I loved seeing the word pregnant come up as opposed to a couple of lines.

Welcome aboard!

Just talked to my new, lovely dr.'s office. They will do my first scan on May 2! Also, the nurse said that they generally do cections at week 39 so due date has now been moved up to Dec. 8th. Yayyyy!

suwoo · 11/04/2006 07:52

Thanks girls, did another one this morn, just to check and was still 'pregnant' and was LOL!!
Jabberwocky, I have to have a section too, so was interested to know they do it at 39 weeks now, that gives me a it more time before Xmas!! Feeling sick already this morning, and not even due AF til tomorrow, aaaargh. Must have some strong hormones!!

Debbsy · 11/04/2006 07:58

morning all congrats again well my morning sickness as well and truly kicked in from about 4am this morning lol speak later off to work now

Angsthase · 11/04/2006 08:45

Still not had the dreaded morning sickness. Not that I'm complaining! But if it's any consolation my boobs are absolutely killing me and I'm still waking up at 5am every morning. Is this practice for later??
Went to the docs yesterday and they didn't check anything, just booked me in for the 12 week scan and mw appt. Anyone have a different experience at their first appt?

lucy5 · 11/04/2006 08:48

My first appointment with dd was like this, a bit off an anti climax. I haven't organised a doctor yet.

laughalot · 11/04/2006 09:28

Sory folks to barge into your thread lucy get yourself back on that chat thread so we can have a natter iv been missing you Grin. GOOD UCK TO YOU ALL......

jabberwocky · 11/04/2006 12:54

Angsthase, my first time around was a lot like yours. However, aren't you an older mum like me? If so, you may want to look into an earlier appt. if you are considering any genetic testing. CVS is done at 9 - 10 weeks and amnio at around 16 (but you want time to get yourself on the books for it).

As far as anticlimax, I haven't had a lot of symptoms yet but didn't have morning sickness with ds so maybe not this time around either. That's the good thing I guess, but it's weird not feeling particularly pregnant yet.

jabberwocky · 11/04/2006 12:56

Just checked the stats list, angsthase to confirm. There's been lots of discussion on genetic testing in the archives if you want to nose around. We went for amnio the first time around and more than likely will do so again, although it's awfully tempting to go for an earlier test.

Angsthase · 11/04/2006 14:14

Thanks Jabberwocky, yes I'm 38 now and 39 in June. I think I'll give my surgery a call and see if I can get a number for the mw and give her a call. We haven't really thought about what tests we want, we were sort of waiting to see what was on offer. Yikes, all a bit daunting after waiting so long to get pg.

As for symptoms, only really had sore boobs from the start (which are getting gradually more and more sensitive) and the odd stomach pang, but I think they're because it's my first pg.

tamula · 11/04/2006 16:08

Hi Ladies,

How are you all? I am so pleased for the first time mums, esp after trying for a wee while. Well done and you will love it. Its the best thing ever having a baby Smile

I went to the dr's yesterday but forgot to leave my specimen so will drop off tomorrow instead.

Dont know about anyone else but i feel knackered most of the time (like previous pregnancy) i feel nausea too but not constantly.

Take care x

suwoo · 12/04/2006 08:04

I am feeling slight nausea already and only day AF due today! I've noticed one thing, that I didn't notice with my DD, shaky, weak legs!! Anyone else got that? I am on my feet a lot, maybe its to do with that?

MINNIE1 · 12/04/2006 08:40

Hi Suwoo,
I found out i was PG on day 26 as well and i had a healthy pregnancy. I also used the clearblue pg tests. The clearblue ones are better then my GPs ones as they always come up faint but the clearblue and first response come up really strong. Hear to a happy and healthy 8 months Grin

MORNING SICKNESS!!! AGHHH god i dont think it was this bad with DD I feel really bad this morning and yesterday! With DD i was up at 5 in the morning looking for food!

jabberwocky · 12/04/2006 13:03

Still not many symptoms here except peeing really, really often! I've also noticed that I've had fresh spinach 3 times since I found out I was pg. Cravings already????

MINNIE1 · 12/04/2006 13:42

Jabber,
Could be cravings i had a thing at the start of my last pregnancy for boiled eggs at 5 in the morning!! Weird i know!
At least the spinch is good for you and its a great iron source. Wait till the peeing starts in the middle of the night thats one thing i hate!

Beckloff · 12/04/2006 14:48

Hello - I'm new here and am due on the 9th Dec (ish) with my first. It is lovely to meet you all Smile

Can anyone help - I have my first antenatal appointment at 10 weeks as the GP is so busy - will that be leaving it too late to book scan no. 1? I've got myself all worked up that it's ectopic too....

Calmriver · 12/04/2006 15:53

I found out the other day.

Due in Dec too.

I don't even have an ante-natal appt booked. Ive been told will have my scan firstonly at 12 weeks.

I am booking for an appt with the midwife for about 10 weeks too.In my first preg,I had an appointment with the midwife at about 10 weeks I think.

Am I suppose to have an appointment before that?

Calmriver · 12/04/2006 15:56

How come, when I work it out online, from date of last period, preg is shorter in week terms that from the day I conceived???

Surely I I know what day I conceived I can work it out from that?

Angsthase · 12/04/2006 16:29

Hi Girlies,

Congratulations and welcome to our growing little thread! Hope the next 8 months go very smoothly for us all Smile

Appts - well, my surgery just booked me in automatically for a 12wk appt with MidWife and scan. I'm trying to get hold of the mw team to have a chat (as I'm an older (38) first time mum and don't know if 12wk might be too far along for some checks).
If you're worried, ring your GP and ask for the tel no. of the mw team. The GP doesn't really do anything as far as I can tell apart from fill in forms to refer you to your hospital! Mine leaves everything else to the mw team.

Beckloff · 12/04/2006 16:43

Thanks Ladies - it looks like we're all in the same position which is very reassuring! I did call my GP and spoke to the girl on reception who said that she thought my appointment might well be too late to get me booked in for my 12 week scan on time. She has spoken to the Dr who is now going to fill out all forms to get me booked in in the meantime - very alarming considering I saw him 2 days ago and it didn't occur to him then - useless!! Shock

Calmriver · 12/04/2006 17:27

With DD I had my blood pressure checked at first consultation.

This time, Dr said wait till 12 weeks.

lucy5 · 12/04/2006 21:13

just wanted to say hello and let you know ive had a horrible day! Ive thrown up , felt shaky and had this weird, kaleidoscope[sp] colour thing going on with my eyes, someone said it might be low blood sugar. Think I better find a doctor soon!
