Hi all,

Went for y 1st scan on Weds morning, seen the sac and fetus but was so small we couldnt detect a heat beat. I dont think its anything to worrie about as its very early to see the heat beat. But i am back again in 2wks for another scan. It put my mind at ease that at least it not eptopic or a cyst.

Feeling a little quezie in the mornings but other then that i am fine. I see some of you have constipation i found i suffer last time with that and i drank loads of orange and apple juice and it kept me going!

lucy5 · 07/04/2006 11:03

Hi Minnie, how many weeks are you? i'm just wondering when I should go and tell the doctor, set up scan etc I can't remember from last time.

MINNIE1 · 07/04/2006 13:09

Hi Lucy,

I am 7wks today. I booked an early scan cause i have a miscarraige history, and with only after having a baby i was afraid my body wont be able to carry another baby so soon. I would go to GP as soon as i though i was expecting just to confirm the pregnancy and to get the ball rolling. In my local hospital you have to wait up till 5 month to get a scan which is maddness, so i opted for a different hospital and to go private. With my last pregnancy i was worried sick that somthing was wrong so the obs seen me every 4-6.
I would go to GP to confirm pregnancy and then you will get a booking date with midwife. I'm from ireland so i am not fully up to date with the NHS but it cant be as bad as our health care here. I think ye see midwifes as to use its a gyne/obs..

lucy5 · 07/04/2006 18:26

Thanks Minnie, i'm in Spain so god knows what the system is here. I am looking in to going private as ive heard good and bad stories about the local hospital.
We are at completely opposite ends of the scale with when we had our last babies though! Grin Glad the scan went well for you.

jabberwocky · 09/04/2006 12:37

Hi everyone! I got a bfp yesterday morning.

As far as early symptoms go, I'm another one with consipation Blush It was really bad when I was pregnant with ds. I ate a lot of those fiber crackers which helped. Couldn't bring myself to drink the powder mix stuff. The only other symptom is headache. That also happened before, just through about 8 or 10 weeks.

Oh, and edd is December 15th, but this one will be an elective section because of problems last time. I developed high blood pressure in my third trimester with ds, so am thinking they might book me in a week or two early.

lucy5 · 09/04/2006 12:40

Hi Jabber and congratulations on your bfp!

jabberwocky · 09/04/2006 12:50

Thanks, lucy. Did I read correctly that you have recently just had a baby as well as being pg?

lucy5 · 09/04/2006 12:55

No thats Minnie, my dd will be 6 when this one arrives! Are you still in shock at your bfp?

jabberwocky · 09/04/2006 12:59

oops!

Yes, still a bit dazed. I had been trying to prepare myself for a bit of a wait, since at 41 there are no guarantees. But, this is our second month of trying and voila! Dh said all along he thought 4 months tops, so maybe father's intuition? Smile

Can we do a stats so far?
me: 41
dh: 57
ds: 2.7

lucy5 · 09/04/2006 13:05

me 35
dh 40
dd 5

we unbelievably got preggers the first time of trying, thats why i am still in major shock!

jabberwocky · 09/04/2006 13:06

Both times or just this time?

We got pg the second month both times. Maybe it just takes a month for my body to catch on to the idea Wink

lucy5 · 09/04/2006 13:08

First time it took 8 months!!!!!!

jabberwocky · 09/04/2006 13:09

I guess you are in shock then! Maybe yours is a case of your body saying, "Oh yeah, that? Yes, now that I've done it before I know exactly what you want."

Debbsy · 09/04/2006 13:12

Nothing new here have this weird hangover feeling!! I really feel as if i have be out on the town and surffering from a serious hangover! i havent had a drink in weeks!!!!

lucy5 · 09/04/2006 17:48

Hi Minnie, im having waves of queasiness and bouts of exhaustion, sounds like your hangover but not so bad. I wonder with the second one you are just more aware of the symptoms, I dont really remember feeling like this with dd.

Angsthase · 09/04/2006 22:38

Hi All,
Jabber - congrats on your bfp! Smile. Here's hoping we all have a trouble free 8 months!

Here are my stats:
me 38
dh 43
First baby and it took us 18mths to get this far!

Also experiencing the morning after the night before feeling, but haven't touched alcohol since before my bfp. I was sure I'd start feeling fab once I gave up alcohol completely (gave it up to start IUI treatment and found out I was pregnant next day!), but wasn't to be. Still knackered all the time too. In fact off to bed now! Night night Smile

suwoo · 10/04/2006 10:00

Very scared and dis-believing as I have had a BFP this morning with 1st response. I am on day 26 and 11 days past ov. I had 4 very faint lines yesterday on strips, and the 1st response one with first morning this morning wee was a bit darker. I am just dis-believing as have been reading about chemical pregnancy and I'm scared that I'll still have AF on Wednesday. I did the tests because I felt funny, really hungover, dizzy and headachey. My EDD is 21st Dec. What do you reckon, is a line really a line?????????

Angsthase · 10/04/2006 11:19

Hi Suwoo

Sounds like it could be.

Is your cycle normally 28 days? I don't think the stats on the tests are that great for a reliable result on a standard test too long before your AF due date. If I were you I'd get a different test (clear blue?) and try again. Then at least you'll know. Hope it's + Smile
