melsy · 18/04/2006 22:10

kitegirl youll just have to put full school uniform on St Trinians style and see if it does anything to dh with those socks, oh and some black mary janes!!! Japanese girls like to dress like that and it drives japanese men wild.

kitegirl · 18/04/2006 22:14

sarahlou1uk · 19/04/2006 10:23

Hi everyone. Can I join your club please? I'm expecing my second child due date 19 August and its a girl. Already have one ds age 3. Hoping to have a water birth as I had one with my son and it made the pain bearable! Seen a couple of sad messages earlier on in the thread. Really makes you aware of the problems that can occur in pregnancy. Luckily both me and baby ok apart from having to have an amnio at 16 weeks (but that's when I got to find out she's a girl!). Am now 23 weeks at time of writing this and getting kicked everyday all over (mostly when trying to get to sleep at night). Not had a very good night last night due to ds having a tummy bug and being sick every hour. Having to keep him off nursery today and trying to keep him occupied. Will probably spend a great deal of time looking at mn whilst he's watching dvd's - there's only so much thomas I can take!

purpleturtle · 19/04/2006 10:37

Hi sarahlou1uk! You must be looking for the same kind of nappies as me, cos I keep seeing you as the high bidder on ebay as I browse! What's your due date? I'm the 13th.

I am enjoying the second day of ds being at nursery every morning. Am going to try to get some housework done, as the car's in for MOT so I can't go shopping Grin. Having dropped the car off, and finally lumbered my way home again, I've emptied the dishwasher, filled the washing machine, and made a jelly. Just having a sitdown while I try to decide what I can face next. LOL

purpleturtle · 19/04/2006 10:38

Doh! Your due date's right there in front of my nose. I have full on pregnancy brain. It's because this is my 3rd and there wasn't much there for it to pinch this time.

PinkTulips · 19/04/2006 10:43

hello sarahlou, congratulations on the little girl and glad everything is going well for you so far Grin

Snow, i compared my self to the photoes i took 2 days before dd was born and í'm also bigger than i was at 9 months last time!Sad so depressing isn't it?

baby tried lying sideways across the bump last night and we could see bodyparts! we could make out the head and legs and everything Smiledp got to poke at little feet and hands which made his week, horribly uncomfortable but so cool to see baby like that, definitely don't remember getting to see specific bodyparts that early on with dd, starting to have serious doubts about the accuracy of the dates they gave me at that scan

PinkTulips · 19/04/2006 10:44

ooooo, i almost forgot.... 24 weeks today! Grin

jayjaybaby · 19/04/2006 10:45

hi ya had a great couple of days apart from monday traipising round notts in my under the bump jeans that just fell down the whole time so i threw them away in a temper when i got home my baby has final;ly come out kicking even my dh can feel it now so we are both well chuffed cause we had started to woryy abit went to see my little cousin yesterday and my aunite gave me quite a few bits so wahey me and dh are going to be bankrupt we've bought so many little outfits already all pink i'm in heaven
regards the pins and needles thing i've been having it for the last six weeks and i find it worse at night i find sleeeping as upright as i can the best thing and going bra less helps
has anyone noticed they'vew put quite a bit of weight on all of a sudden i've put on a stone in the last six weeksBlush

purpleturtle · 19/04/2006 10:47

The solution to weight gain worries is not to have any bathroom scales. Grin

sarahlou1uk · 19/04/2006 10:48

Hi purpleturtle. Yes, it's probably me on ebay. I want to put my second into reuseable nappies to save money. My ds is still in nappies (pull ups) and I am having a bid of trouble persuading him to leave them in the cupboard and try pants. He's off sick today which is a pain because he changes nurseries next week. At the minute he goes to a private one for one morning a week but next week he starts at council nursery for two mornings a week. I've just stopped working and become a SAHM so we are trying to economise which is not easy sometimes. I see you're due a couple of days before me. Last time I went 8 days over which I'm hoping not to do this time as my husband has to take the old "shut down" weeks in August which at the moment, falls nicely with my due date. If I am late however, it looks like I'll be on my own (apart from the actual labour)!!! My mw has asked me if I want a home birth. I can't cope with the mess!!!! Last time I had a water birth at the hospital and all the muck and gunk went down the plughole! My dh says I can have a home water birth if I want but I'll be cleaning the pool after. I DON'T THINK SO. Got to go now, ds making funny sickky noises.

BigHotMama · 19/04/2006 10:49

Morning ladies, Kitegirl you could still wear the socks with the sandals, set off a new trend lol.

Cheers for the feedback Lunavix, the E£ looks perfect for 2 babas. I'm finding it hard trying to decide what will be good value & long lasting for money re pushchairs, I really want a pram that turns into pushchair and is a travel system but a good safe car seat! Looking at the M&P Pramette? Does anybody have one of these?

Is everbody feeling plenty of kicks now? I must have counted at least 30-40 yesterday, seem to be happening loads at night.

purpleturtle · 19/04/2006 10:52

I fully expect to go two weeks over, again.

I had a waterbirth at home last time. It was absolutely fab. tbh there wasn't much gunk to deal with, and the midwives did a lot of the sorting out, as far as I recall. I'm booked for another. Smile

PinkTulips · 19/04/2006 10:58

afraid i left ALOT of gunk for poor midwives last time! Blush besides the terror of anything going wrong thats my main reason for not being brave enough fot the homebirth, lord knows dp wouldn't clean it!

good for you planning to use reuseables sarahlou, they're so much cheaper and they're dead easy to use. can't stand disposables myself, they just don't smell right!

sarahlou1uk · 19/04/2006 11:03

I know what you mean about disposables. I used them on my first because I wasn't aware of the type of reuseables you can now get - I thought they were still the old terries that your mum used to use on you!!! Now I see that you can get all types - I'm mainly going for the MEOS and the Tots Bots. I'll probably use disposables for the first couple of days if I'm in the hospital but as soon as I am out it's reuseables. Hopefully, this will lead to earlier potty training!!!

Nbg · 19/04/2006 11:32

Hi everyone
Hope you all had a good easter and ate loads Grin

Sorry Kitegirl but I am ROFL at your sock dilema (am such a cow aren't I? Grin)

Seriously though I can't believe they expect you to wear them. There must be another option surely. I mean wearing them at all is bad enough never mind in the summer whilst pg!!!
Will you be able to cut them at the ankle? That way at least you could get away with some light linen trousers and still get to wear sandals.

Sarahlou, I'm going to check out those nappies. I have to admit disposables are very easy but I do like the idea of reusables.
How many will you be buying to start?

Dh is back now, thank god! Back to normality again (or near as we get to normal, lol!)
Treated myself to an IPod Nano yesterday, thought I deserved it Grin

PinkTulips · 19/04/2006 11:46

Bambino Mios are brilliant, been using them from 5 weeks, as soon as dd fit into the small size without them falling off! she's still in them at 15 months and now i won't have to buy a single nappy for the bumpSmile

BigHotMama · 19/04/2006 12:03

Congrats on your girl, & Welcome Sarahlou, my earlier post took me so long to write you beat me on here and it looked like I was being ignorant! Tell us more on re-useable nappies, tbh this had never crossed my mind? This is my first so need all the advice can get on saving money etc, are they easy to put on or bit tricky?
I agree JayJay that when I'm bra-less feels like heaven at the moment. Cant wait to get in the house and whip it off!

kitegirl · 19/04/2006 12:13

Nbg I'm glad you are finding the socks funny.... AM I LAUGHING? NO I AM NOT!!! Dh promised to wear a pair as well out of solidarity. The beige old woman ones. Pleased you got the nano what music have you got on it so far? I recommend the new Massive Attack greatest hits cd it's fab. Email me about your dh's trip and let me know how his boarding went!

braless? I have to wear a bra even at night in bed. One of my old maternity ones. As expected, sex is not really a feature in my marriage at the moment. ONLY FOUR MONTHS TO GO....

got my scan this afternoon yay!

SnowBoo · 19/04/2006 13:11

Have attempted to catch up with all the threads. Its amazing how busy you lot are! I was only here last night...

Having a bad day today. Got stuck in traffic for an hour and a half with ds and dog. Normal journey to school and work takes us 10 mins! Bloody A40. Why oh why did it have to close today???? Then, got to work, my printer has stopped working. Now my card reader has given up the ghost! Whats a girl to do?

Oh, saw a foot poke out last night, ds was beside himself with pride at his baby brother. Grin

kitegirl · 19/04/2006 13:27

an hour and a half? A40 is something akin to Ikea in terms of making you lose your mind. poor SnowBoo.

I think we are going to call this little boy Milo. I know it's a character in Tweenies but I just love the name. I wanted Miles but dh wasn't too keen so we compromised on Milo. Phew. Definitely feels like there's a person in there now.

ds is torturing the dog, oh great.

SnowBoo · 19/04/2006 13:35

Milo? I like it. I want Casper but dh says it sounds like the ghost....

So Jasper it is Grin

PinkTulips · 19/04/2006 13:51

we're using Caleb if it's a boy, which i hope it is coz i can't think of any girl names! funnily enough last time we couldn't think of a single boys name but we had a girls name from 4 months!

kitegirl · 19/04/2006 14:00

Casper was on our shortlist!
