Hello Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
purpleturtle · 09/04/2006 18:40

I really need to face up to the fact that this baby will need somewhere to sleep, not to mention clothes to wear, and some form of transport! I feel like the time is whizzing by in a lot of respects.

Arabica · 09/04/2006 19:21

I think time's dragging--feel like I have been pg forever. Not at all dealing with any of the things baby will need and can see myself having a panic purchasing session the week before it's due!
My baby's moving a bit more but I'm not being kicked in the ribs yet, thank goodness, and certainly can't see any feet! It's all down to the excess padding.
Kitegirl, no, I don't want to know the sex--it's fun not knowing.
Good luck with the scan ronniemommy!

Howdy!

I agree with people saying the 4 months will fly... me and dh are still in buggy negotitations, and the baby gets ds's crib, but we aren't dealing with anything else really... by now with ds I'd bought half his stuff!!

We've started buying pink clothes though :) Even though it's not certain I need to feel like it's a boy or a girl, I don't know why. I was positive ds was a boy so bought all boys clothes and I HATE neutral clothes. SO we figured buy pink, if it's a boy it can wear ds's bits till we return the pink stuff!

The thought of the summer holidays are terrifying me!

I'm putting on weight alarmingly now... I was 10st4 when I got pg (large for me, had been on holiday!) and dropped to 9st6 with the sickness (about right lol) and I'm now 10st8 with a HUGE bump. Guess I've caught up, I'm feeling very much in that fat stage now...

jayjaybaby · 09/04/2006 22:24

oh my god its my scan tomorrow we are so excited cant wait to see a proper baby as my first one was at eight weeks am feeling lots of movement now also went to see ice age 2 last night it was hysterical
i cant wait to find out if im having a boy or girl
oh my god oh my god

jayjaybaby · 09/04/2006 22:24

as you can tell i'm excited

claire7676 · 10/04/2006 09:58

Hello all! Another one for the boys!! Had scan on friday, all fine, though it took an hour!!! Bump appears o be following in his sisters footsteps and refusing to do what the sonograher wants!!!!! Not complaining though as its longer to see baby!! Feeling loads of wiggles and kicking now, which is lovely.

Arabica · 10/04/2006 11:58

jayjaybaby, enjoy your scan! Can't believe how many boys there are on this thread. I'm not tempted to find out what mine is though.

SnowBoo · 10/04/2006 12:47

Lots of boys!
Jayjay good luck! So exciting....

I have now got an official craving for.....CARROTS! Must be raw and cold thou. Also J&J baby bedtime wash, the smell of it drives me insane! Was in the shower forever this morn just rubbing it on and sniffing it. Had this with ds but it was Dove with the scrubby beads in. Found i was showering three times a day..... Oh well, at least i'll be clean Grin

Arabica · 10/04/2006 12:53

cherry tomatoes being craved here!

PinkTulips · 10/04/2006 13:47

at least your all craving healthy things, i'm devouring apple pies! (have to be cuisine the france, chilled in the fridge though)Wink

congrats on the boy claire and good luck to others having scans! i'm with arabica though, no temptation to find out, i adore that 'it's a boy/girl' monent in the delivery room.

must admit my dad has made me even more sure it's a boy though, was talking to him last night and he said he's been having one his feelings from the moment i told him. when i was preg with dd he was chatting to me the night i told him and asked about names, when i said we'd only picked girls names so far coz i thought it was a girl he just looked confused and said 'of course it's a girl'! he's got a knack for these things so like lunavix i figure i'll buy blue for the minute and baby can wear hand me downs for a few days if 'he's a she!

jayjaybaby · 10/04/2006 15:00

well it look like im having a girl saw three lines and the scanner said she was 85-90% sure have booked a 4d scan anyway for 28th may to know for certain im so excited and happy found out why cant feel much placenta at front and babies legs are right down so no wonder she was all scrunched up and very uncooperative much like her mother
wahey glad every body eles scan went well
and they was nothing at all wrong Grin

SnowBoo · 10/04/2006 15:39

Glad it all went well jayjay! And another girl....(hopefully!) I must say, you could tell mine was a boy, you could definately see willy no doubt about it! So i reckon if it was a boy they'd see it waggling about....

So how many girls are we up to now?

purpleturtle · 10/04/2006 16:25

Well, I'm starting the long, slow process of accumulating bits and pieces for the baby. I now own one washable nappy (a Bumble), and 4 Motherease wraps, which are currently 4 for 3 in Waitrose. Made a nice change to wander round Waitrose instead of Tesco, although I'm not sure my bank account will think so!

I'm with you PinkTulips and Arabica - I can wait till August to find out if this one's a boy or a girl. Which is just as well, cos I'll have to now. Grin

olivo · 10/04/2006 18:58

Hello everyone! good news on your scan JJbaby.

have been having a bit of a worry today - my bump feels very heavy and uncomfortable but I don't know if it wind or constipation or somethingBlush. had a bath after lunch and spent the afternoon in bed, still a bit uncomfortable now . Problem is, I'm flying off to abu dhabi tomorrow but will see how it goes and go to the doctors before we go if not feeling more comfortable tomorrow morning.

on a less miserable note, bought a very cute cotton hat and gloves from M and S today - £2! bargain! Grin I had said I'd wait a bit to buy things but I've picked up a few great bargains in the sales etc! anyone else found any good deals that i can check out? (hmmm, we don't have most of the 'normal' high street shops so I may be disappointed!)

Micku5 · 10/04/2006 19:53

Am very jealous of those who's had their 20 week scan, I still have to wait until 20th April. I really want to know what I am having.. funny feeling it's a boy but knowing my luck the baby will cross it's legs and I'll have to wait til August to find out. Grin

On a good note I've finally started to feel the baby moving. It's little flutters here and there and I also got my Down's and Neural Tube test back and it's 1 in 9,200.

ronniemummy · 10/04/2006 20:47

Scan went well- everything is healthy and normal. They used a different scanner and the picture quality was far better. Dead exciting!! Baby's head is low down- should it be at 21 weeks???

Did ask whether she could tell sex, but said legs were firmly closed- but made a point of saying how it was not hospital policy to tell anyway!!!

Countdown is now on-19 weeks and counting!

PinkTulips · 10/04/2006 23:32

olivo, the heavy discomfort you decribe sounds exactly like what i have. i got it at this stage with dd and it never really went away unfortunately. came on in the last week or so in this preg aswell. i think some of us are just less well designed for this pregnancy nonsense than others! check if your doctor if your worried, better safe than sorry, but i wouldn't worry too much and try and resign yourself to 4 very long months, sorry Sad

glad the scans went well for ye jay-jay and ronniemommy. sorry you couldn't find out sex ronnie, at least you asked though! good news for you too micku, one less worry Smile

Arabica · 11/04/2006 01:05

Olivo, I have that heavy feeling too sometimes--had it over the weekend and now my bump looks much bigger. So maybe it means a growth spurt.
Am still having cravings for cherry tomatoes, but we don't have any left, so I had to eat half a tub of caffe latte icecream instead!!!

olivo · 11/04/2006 08:36

thanks for your reassurances Arabica and Pinktulips - being a first-timer i just don't know what to expect! my bump does suddenly seem to stick out more too and i'm feeling heaps more movement - am packing for my holiday and very disillusioned by me in a bikini!!long live the sarong!!Grin hopefullly the break will do me good, just relaxing and lazing around but as you say tulips, the next 4 months could be very long!!

PinkTulips · 11/04/2006 11:01

o god, tried to bend over to pick up a sock last night and almost ended up next to it on the floor. keep forgetting i can't move the way i normally do!

know exactly how you feel lockets, was pregnant at dd's first in jan and although i'm so overwhelmingly proud of what a smart cute little girl she's turned into, it's nice to know i'll have a little one in my arms again soon Smile give her a big birthday hug from me!
