Stop wishing us into the third trimester already! Surely I'm only halfway through with lots of time to sort everything out. Shock

SnowBoo · 12/04/2006 15:45

Time? You are joking aren't you?? No time at all! Must do everything yesterday!

BigHotMama · 12/04/2006 16:47

Wow the third trimester is just weeks away then? Its going fast when you look at it that way? I aint got a sausage yet? Must make another list tonight! Grin

SnowBoo · 12/04/2006 16:49

Just seen a thread for Due in Dec. Suddenly dawned on me that i'm 24weeks nearly, not 12! Ok, officially flapping now! I thought it wasn't going quickly but i've lost about 10 weeks somewhere! ARGHHHHHHHH

Nbg · 12/04/2006 20:46

Hi everyone Smile
Back from sunny York. Only 3 more nights until dh is home but I'm missing him like mad so it feels like 3 years!

Great to hear your all doing well and big [smiles] for jayjaybaby! Little girl Grin

I've had to make an appt with the MW for tomorrow as I haven't felt the baby move since Sunday night Sad
I've racked my brains to see if I've done anything to cause it and all I can put my finger on is using my inhalers as I've had a bit of cold.
Hopefully everything will be fine and baby has just got himself into a weird position!

Hi Nbg!

When are you seeing mw? I asked consultant and he said its only after 24 weeks you need to start counting. I had the same stress last week/week before and its cos he had decided to hide by my back. So keep chin up and i'm sure it will be fine.

Nbg · 12/04/2006 20:53

Oh really!

I'm so glad you have said that. I wasn't sure if there was a certain time when you needed to start counting the kicks.
I was about to print off a kick chart but don't see the point when I'm getting none at all!
It just so strange going from proper football kicks to nothing.

SnowBoo · 12/04/2006 20:57

Yeah baby was the same. Have you tried a sugary drink and then sat still for an hour? Someone suggested it and it got a tiny wriggle from him.

Let me know how you get on. And besides, if it was something to worry about they would've got you in straight away.

Nbg · 12/04/2006 20:59

I've tried the sugary thing, chocs, coke etc and nothing.
I booked the appt through the gp's and they don't ask what the appt is for if your going to the MW.

The other thing that bothers me is the amount of BH's I've been getting but if I was getting kicks off the baby it probably wouldn't concern me.

OP posts:
SnowBoo · 12/04/2006 21:03

Oh BHs. I've been getting them constantly from 12 weeks! I think its also to do with baby moving without you realising and moving organs about. I get lots of pain and its apparently a foot in the kidneys/ribs/wherever else his foot can reach!

pembscouple · 13/04/2006 00:40

HI

I felt my baby for the first time at 20 weeks, it actually felt like flutters. I have got used to them now though.
But the other night I had a lot of movement in fact I only had half a nights sleep.

SnowBoo · 13/04/2006 09:39

Hi Nbg,

Let us know how you are getting on.
If its any help little monkey hasn't woken up yet this morning. Not wriggled since last night. Put it donw to a busy day y'day!

PinkTulips · 13/04/2006 09:43

nbg, my baby does the same thing, i have days of being able to feel everything so clearly, massive kicks poking out of my tummy and everything, then it'll just go quiet for a day or 2, i was in pieces last time, freaking out but not wanting to panic dp so just imagining the worst. then it all just started up again.

don't forget, a newborn sleeps about 18-20 hours a day, so a baby in the womb probably does too, if those 4 hours of being awake are while your asleep you won't feel a thing

hope all goes well with mw Smile

Nbg · 13/04/2006 09:48

Morning

Baby decided to have a fight with all my organs this morning so obviously all is well Grin
So I cancelled my MW appt. It would have been nice to go and have a listen in but it's better someone else get the appt who needs it.

He must have worn himself out with all the other good kicks and decided to have a rest.

Going to have a lazy day today. DD wants to make some Dora the Explora buns. What joy!

Nbg · 13/04/2006 09:55

OP posts:
PinkTulips · 13/04/2006 09:57

lol, don't forget your allowed to eat baba's share too Wink

Nbg · 13/04/2006 10:00

Thats right!

Although have you ever eaten those ready boxed bun mixtures? They're not great and the Dora ones have little sugar stars that go in.

But I'll have to eat them otherwise they'll go stale Grin

OP posts:
PinkTulips · 13/04/2006 10:02

why not make fairy cakes, they're just as easy really and taste way better. i'm being smeared with banana by dd at the mo so anything non gooey sounds good right now!

Nbg · 13/04/2006 10:08

I would but we are like mother hupboards atm!
I can do the ready mix pack as all it needs is an egg plus dd will be gutted if we don't do Dora!

OP posts:
PinkTulips · 13/04/2006 10:19

well you can't argue with dora!

ok shes totally destroyed the only clean maternity top i hadAngry.... but she's so damn cute with banana all over her face! better root out some baby wipes and hope this comes off!

freddysays · 13/04/2006 14:16

Hi there all..just popping back in again. All this talk of 24 wks which I am and 3rd trimester has got me thinking.

Is anyone else out there self employed. I have my own business and I think I should start to make an exit plan. I work with my dp and we are trying like mad to get our business of the ground, its about a year and half old now so its starting to take off..crucial time.

I cant think when to stop workign but some days already make me tired. I only work part time and we make hardly any money as it is so its not a financial decision I just wonder if anyone else is in a similar boat and what plans they might have made.

Be great to hear from you on this.....

HAPPY EASTER TOO...cant wait for the choc fix, we are starting tomorrow got mates over for an egg hunt in the garden. YUM YUM

BigHotMama · 13/04/2006 14:23

Afternoon ladies, hardly slept a wink last night due to watching desperate midwives and think the birth is playing on my mind. Good to hear you got a kick NBG, I'm getting plenty of kicks but still hard for DH to feel them, he says they are really faint and has to concentrate hard to feel them, and there's me going a deep shade of red as I stop breathing when he puts his hand there incase he misses one!

Anyone else got swollen ankles yet? Not looking too pretty! Want my ankle bone back! Grin

Hope everyone is ok x

BigHotMama · 13/04/2006 14:59

crossed posts there Freddy, I'm half n half! Have 2 jobs at the moment, one is self-employed at weekends and other is full time employment during the week so I should be knackered but am coping ok at the moment, just trying not to overdo it! Are you feeling like its not worth the hassle because its not bringing in much money? And if you were to quit how would you cope financially? If you can manage without you having to do the hours its definately something to consider, but then will you get bored? If its tiring you out maybe just cut down the hours? Smile
