DesperateHousewife21 · 02/09/2012 08:10

My sister is organising a baby shower for me on the 20th oct :) should be quite fun.

FatimaLovesBread · 02/09/2012 08:57

I'm in a sulk with him today. Decided in the middle of the night that he pissed me off that I'll send him off to cricket and then do my own thing all day.

He doesn't get drunk a quarter as much as he used to buy it still posses me off that he doesn't know when to stop, like a teen who drinks until he's leathered. Angry

jaylee89 · 02/09/2012 09:10

good morning all.

so sorry to hear about the blocked pipes evil its horrible isnt it? when i was 13 weeks i was horribly constipated and i had a bleed from it. spend 4 hours in epu to have scan as thought id mc again but the lovely midwife told me it was because my pipes were blocked and the bowel can rub and poke at the cervix.
she told me to eat loads of green veg to help move things along and drink loads of pure orange juice i hope you feel better soon. and also find ur savings book Grin

today we are thinking of going out for something to eat or to the cinema but just not to sure i can be bothered.

hope everyone has a lovely day.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/09/2012 10:12

Ahhhhhh TMI warning. HELP.

Down there, is quite swollen and a bit itchy on on side, so I have a look and either it is a varicose vein or, which I a more worried about, my old episiotomy has opened up up. But, it is not painful or bleeding, which surely it would be if it was my old episiotomy? Confused If it is a varicose vein it will go away after the baby won't it?

It must be the result of doing to much and necessitate a week with my feet up.

Do you think I should go to the Doctors? Am I being a wuss?

Iheartpasties · 02/09/2012 10:18

sophia bless you, i dont know. i hope one of the more knowledgeable ladies can come and advise you. maybe ring your midwife? x

Passmethecrisps · 02/09/2012 10:22

Sorry sophia no advice here but lots of sympathy.

The bank card/savings book woes sound infuriating. Mind you, so does inebriated husband woes.

We have no plans for today. I fancy just lying about reading. I was bothered by a stupid dream about being tested dressing a baby. I was rummaging through the drawers all the clothes are in and I couldn't find anything so I was going to fail the test. Hmm, I think my subconscious wants me to get on with purchasing the baby furniture.

ShellyBobbs · 02/09/2012 10:23

Morning all :)

Pasties I had 2 lovely real pasties this week in Devon Grin

Just told hubby I'm not moving out of the house today, he usually likes to go galavanting with us all at weekends but I just can't be bothered and it looks like it's going to chuck it down soon. He's just making me some cheese on toast, my new favourite thing to eat.........

I'm just rabbit pooing about 6 times a day at the moment, but it seems to be working for me as there is no pain with it. Baby seems to have grown massive the last few days and I don't know how it's moved position but blimey it's painful and no more kicks, just movements now.

ShellyBobbs · 02/09/2012 10:27

Sophia My bits have always swelled up in the 30 weekers and my vains nearly touch my knees, one is on it's way to pop out city at the moment, but they don't usually itch. I'd get it checked out just to make sure it's all OK, but you may also have a touch of thrush maybe? This blighted me through one of my pregnancies from start to finish.

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/09/2012 10:32

sophia Id say it was a varicose vein but yes would go to the doc to get an expert opinion, they'll want to rule out infection if your scar has opened up.
If its any consolation I constantly feel bruised 'down there' and its feels very bulgy Confused

ValiumQueen · 02/09/2012 10:56

Varicose veins can itch there as similar environment to piles, so I think that is the most likely thing tbh. Very unlikely your scar would open without another rugby ball being pushed out of it. If it was your scar, it would bleed. Might be worth getting checked you do not have thrush as well. I find thrush really aggravates my scar.

MissMummy1 · 02/09/2012 11:00

Can I win the award for biggest baby brain moment? I am so forgetful I totally forgot to pick DH up from work this morning! His phone was flat and he'd left his wallet in the car so he ended up having to walk home.. 6 miles.. in a wetsuit. I also forgot my dad's birthday. Currently feel like the worst person in the world... Blush

Catbag · 02/09/2012 11:13

Ha ha ha, you totally win MissMummy! I'm sure he didn't think it was very funny, but the addition of the wetsuit just creased me up Grin

MissMummy1 · 02/09/2012 11:15

A wetsuit, fluorescent vest, one of those big james-bondy style waterproof briefcases and a hardhat! I feel awful, amazingly he was just more concerned something had happened to me so wasn't too upset!

ShellyBobbs · 02/09/2012 11:52

Wasn't he being an arse the other week? If it was him, just think of it as karma Grin

TheDetective · 02/09/2012 12:06

I've gone huuuuuuge!! In 2 days the bump has just gone mahoosive!! Oh wow! Feeling like a huge blob now!

As the bump has grown so has the strain on my back, so today's mission is to find a v shaped pillow. Anyone got any ideas of shops which I can get one today? I've also got mega heartburn, and I've had cramps all morning, but feeling better after a poo! I was somewhat bunged up too!! Glad the joys of pregnancy are in full swing for others too!

Also, I have a baby stuck in my ribs too!! After having a relatively easy 2nd trimester, the 3rd is determined to make me feel like an OAP! I've got the waddle... As one of my lovely colleagues shouted down the corridoor in work to me at 0700 this morning :( thanks for that love...!

TheDetective · 02/09/2012 12:07

Oh, and missmummy you made me howl with laughter! That is just hilarious!

ValiumQueen · 02/09/2012 12:10

mismummy I bet he was a bit chafed after that. Poor fella Grin still if he had remembered to charge his phone it would not have happened!

Catbag · 02/09/2012 13:33

VQ Have you had any joy with your PnT raincover issues with Ebay?

applepieinthesky · 02/09/2012 13:36

That made me laugh MissMummy Grin

I went out for lunch yesterday with DP which was nice and then went shopping. Actually didn't buy much for once but found a good book on bilingualism. It's called Bilingual By Choice and it's written by Virginie Raguenaud. I was engrossed in it all of yesterday afternoon and evening. I was looking for a book on childbirth as well but couldn't find one. I looked in two separate bookshops and couldn't find a single book just about childbirth Hmm can you believe it? I was going to order Ina May Gaskin online a couple of days ago but thought by the time I waited for it to be delivered I could have gone to the shop and got one. I feel like time is whizzing by and I still have so much to do!

bluearya · 02/09/2012 13:55

hello all,

Latecomer to mn can I join? DC2 EDD 01/11/12. A little boy to join my little girl!
I'm portuguese DP is British, I?m trying to raise my DD to be bilingual and failing miserably! She understands or at least I believe she does Smile but won?t talk. Plus every time we go to Portugal all my family thinks is sooo cute she can speak english (real hard being english and all) and they?ll only speak english with her Angry.

Catbag · 02/09/2012 14:06

Welcome bluearya and congrats on your little boy! :)

applepieinthesky · 02/09/2012 14:30

Welcome bluearya Smile

How old is your DD? Children will learn a language if they need it to communicate so it's important to get your family on board as at the moment it sounds like she has no need to speak the language. She will also pick up on it if English is perceived as being more important than Portuguese.

kirrinIsland · 02/09/2012 14:34

Welcome bluearya how old is your DD? If it's any consolation, my friend's DS refused to speak Farsi until he was about 7, but he did understand it and now speaks Farsi and English fluently (and willingly!) - so probably npbe best to stick with it even if it seems like it's not working.

applepieinthesky · 02/09/2012 14:39

Yeh whether she's speaking it or not she will be absorbing it so you need to stick with it.
