Oh missmummy that has just had us all cracking up. I told the kids while they are eating their tea!! I hope you don't mind.

Thanks for all your reassurance about my nether regions. I think I might go to the docs tomorrow. I have to drive DH up to Warwick tomorrow but should be back to enable me to get an appointment late afternoon if I phone at the beginning of afternoon surgery.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 02/09/2012 16:15

I've had the waddle for a while now, MIL said to me today "you can't get much bigger can you? You're all bump!" sadly 10 weeks bigger to get

ValiumQueen · 02/09/2012 16:23

I have finally found a way of walking without pain. Crocs. Very pleased. Actually spent the afternoon in a retail park and have walked all around with no problems. Just having a coffee and the kids are getting high on slush puppies while daddy does the food shopping.

I am going to give the raincover a good clean tonight and attempt to sew the seam. It has had a good airing and no longer smells, plus is dry. I am not keen to have the hastle of returning it and would cost me postage so might as well keep it. I will leave honest feedback though. I would rather keep it than spend 8 quid and have nothing. It cost 12 including postage.

ShellyBobbs · 02/09/2012 16:49

I've not moved off the settee all day today Grin

blonderthanred · 02/09/2012 16:51

That's interesting VQ. I might have to get some crocs, never liked them much but I am likely to be staying in hospital a few days and someone recommended them as a good choice of combination slipper/shower shoe as well as being comfy and easy to slip on.

StuntNun · 02/09/2012 17:28

Will flip-flops do instead of Crocs?

OP posts:
Passmethecrisps · 02/09/2012 17:29

Snap shelly. I have still become a foul mooded moose today though. I was okay this morning but I slipped into such a bad mood for no reason. All I want to do is lie about and eat. I was watching last week's Bake Off and I think poor DH thought he was going to have to bake me a fruit tart to cheer me up.

Sun is shining though.

Passmethecrisps · 02/09/2012 17:30

Oh yes! And I have a sharp jabby pain in my left boob. Humph

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/09/2012 17:32

I got some £2.50 black flips flops from Tesco to pop in my labour bag as on trend Hmmhospital footwear that doubles up as a shower shoe. The don't take up much space you see.

horseylady · 02/09/2012 17:42

Been at the show today. I know I say this a lot and others feel the same but why the jeff to people feel it's ok to tell you what they think you should be doing your size, how you look etc. Really really getting to me!!!

Anyway lovely day, horse was lovely feel slightly tired now but had a busy weekend so nice relaxing evening for me :) might pop to asda just wondering where dh is?!!

ValiumQueen · 02/09/2012 17:44

Flip flops would be fine, but I personally do not like them. I get sore between the toes. With my previous two births, I was so swollen crocs were the only footwear I could squeeze into. If you do decide to get some, make sure you go a size bigger and you can usually get them for £10 from places like sports direct. I love crocs and could happily live in them. I thought my poorly foot would be better supported in lace-ups.

FatimaLovesBread · 02/09/2012 17:55

Welcome Bluearya

Can I ask a quick question? Where has/is everyone getting their cot sheets and blankets from?

Had a good day so far, left hungover 'D'H in bed while I went out, I treated myself to a mcdonalds breakfast on the way to Ikea Grin Then called at my sisters and finally back home to do a bit of fettling. Now lazing on the sofa watching friends.

ValiumQueen · 02/09/2012 17:57

Fatima I think Asda have some in their baby event. Matalan and Tesco are also reasonable.

pikz · 02/09/2012 18:16

Fatima I got advised to go John Lewis as apparently they wash a lot better, so worth the money especially if you are using a cot bed so can keep them. I got my blankets from white company with a 30percent discount so they were cheaper than most other places.

blonderthanred · 02/09/2012 18:16

I am the same VQ, I don't like things between my toes and the advice I saw was that if I had a CS I'd have to wear support stockings after so they'd be impractical for general getting about. Thanks for the tip re Sports Direct, I wasn't sure where stocked them.

YellowWellies · 02/09/2012 18:19

I've got a bednest crib from my sis - so the bedding has to either come from bednest or you make it yourself. The full cot is from Ikea and again it's a slightly awkward size - so I've got sheets from them too. Still at least Ikea is cheap though.

Interesting about the crocs - never liked them until travelling in Dharamsala in northern India (where the Dhalai Lama is in exile), and was amused to see that the buddhist monks and novices all wear them in colours perfectly coordinated with their saffron and burgundy robes. Grin

bluearya · 02/09/2012 18:26

DD is 3, i'll keep speaking and reading to her in portuguese and hopefully she'll one day speak without too much of an english accent Smile

I'm taking 2 pairs of cheap flip flops, last time between one room and another lost half my stuff Confused I blame DP...

What happened to the sun???

MissMummy1 · 02/09/2012 18:29

Ikea sell cheap croc style shoes. I hate them, but bought a white pair to wear below deck on the yacht I sailed on last summer as they were non marking.

Our bedding is a mixture of mamas and papas, matalan, ikea and john lewis.

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/09/2012 18:32

Lol the monks sound v stylish!

Had a nice day down the beach, had chips for lunch and got some nice bonbons for a treat tonight Grin
Just got to get through the slog of getting ds ready for bed and asleep.

ShellyBobbs · 02/09/2012 18:47

Is anyone else struggling to eat? I now never know if I'm hungry until I go dizzy and haven't got much room at all. I've just eaten a child size portion of veg and am bursting.

This baby is taking up so much room and I've only felt like this since last Tuesday......

horseylady · 02/09/2012 19:14

Shelly yes!!! Currently also struggling to not feel sick when I put something inside me!! I nearly threw up after drinking some juice earlier.

Need to get a matress and some bedding too hoping to get to the baby event at asda tomorrow as well.

Catbag · 02/09/2012 20:07

Me too Shelley. I'm eating bugger all at the moment and somehow still swelling in size :(

kirrinIsland · 02/09/2012 20:18

I wish I was struggling to eat! I can't stop at the moment, although I do seem to have got over my craving for non stop sugar, so that's good. I'm going to be enormous if I keep going like this for another 10 weeks.

Evilwater · 02/09/2012 20:38

I can eat for an army! However I'm still not fancying fruit and veg but I'm trying my best. Confused I still havn't found my savings book. Grrr..... Angry
On the 16 I'm off to bath for a mum to be massage. Grin Two days away from the house. I know it's not the sanest thing to do when money is concerned, but it will be the last big thing I will do as me, and it's my birthday present. Grin

I can't believe the train prices! Sad But I don't think I could drive for 2-3hours depending on the traffic.

tmi alert
I've had a poo, but it was only a small one. Hopefully things are on the way. Wink

hi all

I had a consultant appointment on friday, while I was there she noticed my old note from my last pregnancy were there too, suggested it might be because I requested a birth review (20 weeks ago, midwife is useless, still hasn't got back to me about it)
So she offered to do the review right there and then, which was great of her.

I found out DD was back to back labour, this is somehow something I was never told at the time. I knew that she was face up towards the end so wouldn't come out, but not about her being back to back.
It's incouraging for this time around because it is unlikly to happen again and was sugested that dd ended up back to back because she had been breach up until 38 weeks. She said this is often the position a breach baby that turns late ends up in.
