Afternoon

Have we had anyone on the thread miscarry yet? I ask because I think I may be the first and hopefully the last. Came back from B&Q this morning, went the toilet, wiped and there was some sort of orange/pink discharge. The cramping which had stopped over the last week or so, is back also.

All I can do is sit and wait and prey that this isn't the start of what I think it could be.

The only positive thing, if you can look at it that way, is that the last time I miscarried (I was in Mothercare of all bastard places) it was bright red blood straight away and lots of it.

It's quite cruel that it should happen now, given that Friday I had my booking appointment and received my hand held notes and Bounty pack (I'm anyones for a goody bag or freebies) and yesterday I received a date for my dating scan. The pregnancy had just begun to feel real and stupidly I was letting myself calm down and look forward to a baby in about 7 months time.

I'm going to have some soup, watch some paint dry (trying out colours for the playroom and the Dulux paint pots are so cute) and try and con myself that this is nothing and we'll all look back and laugh at how paranoid I am.

JoJoBella84 · 19/08/2012 12:47

Any chance you could have a water infection mrsR?
I used to get them often and would have tiddue tinged with orangey red stuff when I wiped but was never obvious blood. Keeping my fingers crossed for you, is there anyone you can call for reassurance?

pipsicles · 19/08/2012 13:36

Try dried fruit, possom - esp prunes and apricots. I find they always work for me, but not too many (limit to about 6), otherwise you go the other way!

tramp I like your way of sharing your news too, I always wanted to do it by sharing the scan picture, but am not patient enough. Also, as soon as my mum saw me after I found out, she guessed! You could say we're quite close! We told a few friends by showing the scan picture with DS, but with one couple, she promptly burst into tears because, unbeknownst to us, they were having lots of difficulty and were going through IVF Blush They now have a little girl and she's just started taking the meds for their second and last cycle, so thankfully it turned out good last time and we have our fingers crossed for this time too!

You could say I have a bit more than a pot belly! I'm wearing some (lovely) mat jersey cropped trousers from H&M and a regular vest top and both DH and I think I'm looking v pg today! Has anyone else got that pg look where your belly is sticking out from under your boobs already? At the top of my bump, it is all firm and like a real bump and I think all my organs have already shifted up - my sickness tummy aches felt higher than I'd usually expect. I did google it and found that it can happen this early in subsequent pgs because of muscle memory or something. Please tell me I'm not the only one though!

I'm making a restorative chicken soup from scratch to help us all get over our sickness and it smells divine! I can't wait for it to be done!

pipsicles · 19/08/2012 13:43

Sorry MrsR for the x post. I'm sorry to hear you are worried again - you are having a hard time of it, you poor thing! Do remember that aches, cramps etc are quite normal stretching and stuff. Plus, bleeding can be perfectly normal too. Are you anywhere near the time you'd expect a period if you weren't pg? Some people get spotting every time their AF is due, which can explain some of those stories we hear about women not knowing for months.

Am I right in thinking you recently had a scan and saw your bouncing bean? Hold on to that and try to be as positive as possible. How long do you have to wait for your 12 wk scan? Now your booked in though, do call the midwives of you're concerned - it's what they're there for.

I hope you feel happier soon. x

sundaesundae · 19/08/2012 14:29

MrsR I hope you are ok FX for you. I have lots of pulling and odd feelings, but no cramps and nothing that is painful properly and they worry me too.

I hope none of us MC, it is my constant fear still, so I feel for you.

I have a horrid upset tummy / IBS flare up :( My tummy is massive, I look very pregnant some times, just dust storms and bloating Had a weird feeling like someone running a finger down the inside of me deep in my pelvis, lower abdo, no idea what that was!!

sundaesundae · 19/08/2012 14:37

mrsR, could it be your cyst giving you the pain and discharge?

tedmundo · 19/08/2012 15:21

random .. Yes reading small text makes me feel sick too. I am struggling with bedtime stories right now!

MrsR .. Orange sounds more infection to me that mc. Also, I get a bit of discharge like that, kind of yellowy, the day after sex .. It is old spunk I think. Would that apply?! God, I can't believe the stuff I write on here. :)

pips .. My tummy is rounded in a pregnant way. I weighed myself today and was pleasantly surprised to find only about 2-3 lbs more than when I got pregnant. I am still wearing normal jeans and tops, just they are a bit tight over the tummy area! All my jeans are low cut so are under the growing bump anyway so still fit. I can't wait for the 12 week scan on Saturday, I will hit H&M afterwards to get myself kitted out. Exciting!

tedmundo · 19/08/2012 15:23

sundae .. Upset tummy sounds dreadful poor you. I hope you feel better soon.

theTramp · 19/08/2012 15:50

JoJo - I've had days where nothing fits & days where alls fine. It's all bloating related I think. Although a fair few tops are genuinely strained now cause of breast increase - new bras coming soon methinks

GummiberryJuice · 19/08/2012 16:23

MrsR fx for you, although as pip days now your booked in ring midwives

Pip my mum thought my normal spare tyre looked more pg shaped so I think I'll cling to the muscle memory theory

Still horriblely bloated/windy here at the end of an evening

Oh and mojito mocktail from M&S are yummy

GummiberryJuice · 19/08/2012 16:25

Tramp my chest is massive too, I reall need to get new underwear

Oh and 10 weeks tomorrow yey

HaitchJay · 19/08/2012 17:10

We must be due date buddies gummi although Im sceptical about my accuracy but it doesn't matter that much as I won't be going that far anyway

shieldbug · 19/08/2012 17:13

hello all! Still here (thanks for remembering me, gummi), but madly busy.

MrsR Can you ring the mws now that you are booked in? As others have said, orange discharge may be infection rather than anything else; if so, you will probably need to be seen anyway. I do hope everything is ok for you (hugs).

pips my bump has been bigger than my boobs (which are not small btw) for quite some time now. Mil let the cat out of the bag when some friends of hers asked her if bug had put on weight recently or....? She told me that she didn't say anything, but the expression on her face gave it away! Since one of her friends is the town gossip knows everyone, that means soon I won't need to tell anyone.

Greetings to all fellow marmite-lovers. Ds Dh bought me XO marmite (extra-long matured SERIOUS marmite) for my b'day recently. Yum! I definitely recommend it.

possum I've got the opposite problem- had the squits on and off for weeks now. Stoopid pg hormones!

Many congrats to all with good scan results- mine still seems an age away (10th Sept). Ho hum.

Better go, should be writing up now, not reading mn!

lannyshrops · 19/08/2012 17:45

Oh. My. God!!!!!! Crumpets and nutella...I think I have died and gone to heaven!!!! I have not eaten nutella for years, however just HAD to have some today and SOOO glad I did!! Really must be strong and not eat directly from jar with spoon! I have been totally off chocolate since finding out I am pg, but clearly that has come to an end!

Tiddley I am in Shifnal (not far from Telford, but please don't hold that against me!!) I have not lived in Shropshire for long, but have made it to Ludlow, lovely town, you are very lucky living near there!

bug extra stong marmite!!! I need some!! How do I go about obtaining this fabulous item? Which reminds me, continuing with the crumpet theme, marmite and philly on hot crumpet...devine!

MrsR I am sending you positive vibes. I bet it is a water infection and all will be well XXXXX

tiddleypompom · 19/08/2012 17:49

mrsrigby you poor thing. I really hope you are able to get some reassurance soon - worth a trip to EPU tomorrow? Sadly there have been mc on this thread (but given they start with bfp at only 4 wks it isn't surprising), but really really hope the last has been and gone now. Fingers are crossed for you.

Lexiindisguise · 19/08/2012 17:53

MrsR agree - call the midwife - though I'd say no bright red blood is definitely a good sign from what I have read. Fingers crossed for you.
My Best friend & DH both commented today that I look pg - boobs also massive, had to give up on some clothes, and just a different shape. I'm not super slim but was quite hourglass & my waist has vanished & belly definitely higher than I would normally carry weight. However to most people I think I just look a bit chubbier!

shieldbug · 19/08/2012 17:58

lanny dh got mine from Tescos.

mmm...crumpets (salivating emoticon)

tiddleypompom · 19/08/2012 18:09

Crumpets....with golden syrup....and butter....

Stop all this food talk immediately!

possom I am concerned about your bowels. Lots of water, dried fruit, lactolose if you can get it on (free) prescription. Am the thread Pile Police :o

What's all this about massive jugs too? Hurumph, not I. Tummy is a cracking bump though - complete strangers asking when it's due (mind you people are pretty nosy round here, am expecting uninvited bump-rubbing for luck at a later stage).

jojo how's the second trimester looking? Glowing skin? Flowing locks (not under arms)? Renewed energy?

Bathtime chez tiddley. Got to remove raspberry, chocolate (bad mother sharing ice cream), mud and dust. Yesterday was pizza between the toes so this isn't toooo bad.

Night night all, happy evenings...

lannyshrops · 19/08/2012 18:14

Thak you bug

We went shopping today for tiles for our soon to be started (and hopefully soon to be completed) orangery/kitchen extention. When I came downstairs DH said I looked very pg, however I didn't really believe him, suspecting that he was just trying to make me feel better instead of just feeling fat! However, I do have to say I am feeling more bumpy than fat in the last week! I am so loving the feeling!! It's so exciting!

HaitchJay · 19/08/2012 18:24

No more food suggestions please. Have already sent dd1 to the ships three times today for my cravings Blush and she doesn't even know I'm pregnant yet!

Doing eBay shopping for mat clothes but am too cheap so keep losing !

JoJoBella84 · 19/08/2012 18:48

Tiddley today it's looking good, my flowing locks were chopped on Friday so are super shiny!! I haven't vomited today whoop!
I have more energy today than I have all week BUT trying to get my mind to focus on anything Physio and not baby is near impossible and I only have 3 revision days left :( boooo.
I mistakenly read a research paper on multiloculated cyst in pregnancy and am now regretting it soooo much :( must do some real studying.... And eat some pies!!!!

ThreeForTea · 19/08/2012 19:04

Hello all, first just have to say sorry to bugger off for so long! Have been reading the thread when I can, but haven't been able to post.

I think I must be winning the feeble award for most uncapable of coping while pg this time tound. In the wild I definitely would have been eaten by now! I have been signed off from work for the last two weeks, with a another certificate lasting until after the bank holiday weekend. Most of the time I sit/or lie down with my nausea, and have had to entrust dd to her doting gparents for pretty much the whole time. LuckilyI they are loving it (both are teachers so thankfully off on holiday) I feel dizzy if I stand up for too long, sick and/or headachy most of the time (with on and off random retching), faint and if i do make a brief outing out crash in bed for several hours afterwards. I never knew this could happen, I feel like someone in a comedy with pregnancy symptoms!

But despite the physical niggles I feel so so happy and excited to be here and thinking what sort of baby is doing these things to me. I have really enjoyed catching up this afternoon (while lying on my sickbed sighing) :), so thanks to you all for being there!

MrsR Just wanted to say had a similar symptom at around 8 weeks, just before I had my scan that was all fine. Really hope it goes well for you.

Congrats to everyone else who has had healthy scans recently as well x

HaitchJay · 19/08/2012 19:41

Urgh three sounds shit :(

ChildOfThe1980s · 19/08/2012 20:10

MrsR Hope you will be ok. Some people do have what looks like periods, and their babies are fine.

Unfortunately I have to leave this thread as I MCd yesterday. I'd had a lot of bleeding since Thursday, so it was no surprise. Also I had been warned that my birthing sac was the wrong shape, so I was always higher risk.

All the best for you guys, I have enjoyed being here.

JoJoBella84 · 19/08/2012 20:10

So, when do the burst into tears hormones settle down? I just cried at an xfactor audition... Oh heck!!!
