chefette I thought about transferring last year actually to the RGU. Spoke with the admissions tutor and my poor brain was baffled within minutes. RGU and any Scottish Uni do the course over 4years. Whereas I'm on a 3 year degree programme. So I wouldn't be going into my final year, I'd have to stay in education for a further 2 years and the thought of that genuinely terrifies me!!
I spent the first two years learning strategies and building up a great support network of tutors and getting them to understand why it's so difficult for me to grasp the basics easily with dyspraxia. I'm now on track to get a half decent grade and I think a move would ruin that!! Plus - the thought of forcing myself to study for an extra year is bloody terrifying!! I'm not naturally academic. One of the main reasons I chose York was because we don't do written exams. Everything is on a practical or presentation basis which means I can learn through cues rather than relying on my appalling memory!!

Good luck to all of those with scans today :) its bloody exciting :)
ethel did you say you were 10 weeks today?? Or am I muddling you up with someone? I'll be 15 weeks on Sunday... I suddenly feel like I'm on the wrong thread... please don't kick me off........

JoJoBella84 · 25/08/2012 09:43

tramp great advice re baby wipes. I have some here!!! I have allocated seats so unless there are any spare I'm kind of stuck where I am but I'm taking my laptop and getting my academic portfolio up to date... As long as another drunk woman doesn't spill her vodka over it AGAIN!!
Must finish packing my suitcase... Leaving in 90 mins,,,

theTramp · 25/08/2012 09:57

She spilt vodka over it?! Bloody hell. I'd have been seething.

I've just had a lightbulb moment. I was all set to go to Oxford St at some point this weekend for bras and some jeans that I can do up and I've just realised - I'm on Dulwichs doorstop. Mother and Baby world. What on earth do I need to go to Oxford St for?!

backwardpossom · 25/08/2012 10:05

I went back part time after having DS (I do 0.6 full time equivalent over 3 days) and it's a great compromise. We're lucky that we can afford for me to work part time though, I don't know if I could do teaching full time justice as well as being a 'good' mum! Obviously some can, but I'm too lazy. Wink

I went to bed really early last night and feel much better today. I was exhausted last night! DS decided 6:30 was wake up time today so it was just as well I went to bed so early!

Good luck for scans today! :)

Yup, and she insisted it was just water (like that's any better for a laptop)! I was seething. Ooooh mother and baby world soulds good. My eBay purchases arrived yesterday. I need to take the legs up a little, I ordered 12L not 12R, duh!!

backwardpossom · 25/08/2012 10:08

Ooh we do need a new thread - any takers?

Yeah Jojo 10 weeks! EDD is 23 march (based on LMP, obv no confirmation of that yet.) time seems to be going so slowly.
Anyway, hope the journey is ok.

Got to dash, need to get showered and ready to drive down to S Yorks for a hairdressers appt at noon!

theTramp · 25/08/2012 10:21

Because vodka and water are so hard to tell apart. Grrrrr. Glad your lap top survived.

Dulwich is yummy mummy world. There's a shop that appears to sell ballet princess girl outfits, there's the baby clothing with maternity wear and knitting club shop, there's a trendy designer maternity wear store, there's bog standard maternity wear store and several other stores have bits & bobs for that Market too. We laughed when we moved here... We will fit right in now won't we! :)

Ok I must stop reading threads discussing things to buy babies. I'm now really wanting a baby hammock. www.punkinpatch.co.uk/kangoo-swinging-hammock/ I mean - how cute is that?!

There you go - mark your places!

ATourchOfInsanity · 26/08/2012 20:59

Just wanted to pop in and say I will be leaving this thread, sure I have MC as have had it happen once before and just wanted to wish you all the best. If I do pop back it will only be because of the feed on here and offering any advice from DD. Love to you all.

theTramp · 26/08/2012 23:36

Insanity - so very sorry to hear that. Look after yourself and I really hope you'll be back soon. Is someone there to provide cuddles & tissues?

backwardpossom · 27/08/2012 09:22

Insanity I hope you're ok, chick. I've been there, too, and it's just so unfair. :( Take care of yourself and take all the time you need x
