Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thanks so much, ethel, and crikey that's a lot of twins you know! Yep, MW and I agreed that we have to see how the pregnancy goes, how well I am, how well the babies grow, how long they stay in there and what position they are in at the end. If I'd given birth before and all looked good at the end then there'd be a chance for a natural birth, but with it being my first then they will prob insist on epidural and c-section. But we'll see ? got lots of hurdles to get over before then! All eyes on the 12-week scan (and I've calmed down a lot about the Doppler now, phew).

Sun's just come out - must be a good sign Smile

Lexiindisguise · 16/08/2012 13:55

tiddley great news! Don't leave us!
manda MW here doesn't try for heartbeat until 16 weeks, just echoing the others really that I am sure it is nothing to worry about x

sundaesundae · 16/08/2012 15:17

I got a call from the community midwife and she is coming next week. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed, I got my notes to fill in and I keep thinking how I will feel if it all goes wrong. Why can't I be positive and think that everything will be ok?

Glad people have all had such good news from their scans, must be so lovely to see waving beans!

kurlyvoice · 16/08/2012 15:27

Great news tiddley!

Mine went well too! Grin Very bouncy bean, waving and sticking its fingers up its nose (or that's what it looked like!). I've been given 28th Feb as a due date but, well, who knows when this baby will arrive. If I can make it to March I'll be super happy!

HaitchJay · 16/08/2012 15:33

Ooh youve just reminded me to check my prescription card, need my maternity one before it expires!
It's End of sept so I better get it sorted. Wonder who I need to speak to.

backwardpossom · 16/08/2012 15:40

I was given a form to fill in Haitch... which reminds me, I need to find my NHS number...

kurly hurray! whoop whoop for your bouncing bean!

I think pregnant women are pre-disposed to think the worst at lot of the time, sundae! And of course it isn't helped by the plain fact that things can go wrong, but that's in a real minority of cases and I think all we can do is be grateful for each day that passes without any major mishap! I don't know about you but I bounce around from one extreme of emotion to another at the moment ? !

HaitchJay · 16/08/2012 15:51

Both GP and hospital told me MW will give me the form. I don't have a MW. I'm bored of this already!

theTramp · 16/08/2012 16:01

Sundae - you wouldn't be human if you didn't. Just remember there's the great scenario too, and don't be too hard on yourself.

tedmundo · 16/08/2012 16:10

Yay tiddley and kurly on your wonderful scans. Hurray!

lanny welcome! Congratulations.

ethel I just ate 2 brioche .. Oink!

Ds2 has a virus. Spotty torso and temp. Ds1 happy to play alone so have put Alvin and chipmunks on for a guilt free tv afternoon.

kirsty80 · 16/08/2012 16:26

I just purchased a sandwich maker! I've had two cheese toasties already! All I need now is portishead and a hangover and I will feel completely like a student again Smile

JoJoBella84 · 16/08/2012 16:51

kirsty please can I borrow your cheese toaster maker?!! I could just eat one of those right now!!

How did everyone's scans go today?
I've just returned from mine. Was just supposed to be NT but they decided to re-date me too as its a different trust and the English clearly don't trust the Scottish!! Not that I'm complaining, I got to say hello to my baby again!! Who today was sleeping - until the sonographer made me do a belly dance!! Ooooh did that upset baby!! Wouldn't settle for ages so took about 30 mins to get the NT measurements!!
Had my cyst re measured today too! My word it looks huge! It's so long!!
Got 5 more pics to add to the collection so that's 13 in total now :) :) I heart my little baby bambi :)

mandasand · 16/08/2012 16:55

Yay for your extra scan JoJo! Smile

JoJoBella84 · 16/08/2012 17:09

I've just compared the size of the cyst in my Aberdeen notes to the size measured today and it has increased in length by 3cm... That seems a lot in 6 days. Could it be that it's just been measured differently over here?

pinkpeony4 · 16/08/2012 17:28

Hi everyone

Sorry been staying away because I am soooo nervous about my scan tomorrow. I've been trying to keep very busy to keep my mind off it!

Massive Congrats to Sheldon, JoJoBella, Kurly & Tiddler You must be so excited Smile

JoJo - Hopefully it could just be different sonographers getting different measurements of your cyst. Will they treat it or should it be Ok?

Tedmundo I hope your ds recovers quickly.

Manda In the past midwives have never even tried to find the hb until 16 weeks and with ds3 it was 20 weeks! They are so small and it's hit and miss as to whether they get the right spot. My friend has just been over with her id twin boys who are 8 months. They are soooo cute! (& sleeping 13 hours a night which is always nice to hear! Wink We travel a lot with our boys and have taken them all over the place. I definitely don't think children need to hamper your travelling bug.

Kirsty I had massive cravings for toasties recently and bought a Breville. It's amazing! I have been having them nearly everyday and it definitely reminds me of being a student when we used to make them after a night out! I have been loving cheese & marmite - amazing!

Well I have my scan tomorrow at 3.30 and am very, very nervous. I wish it was in the morning!!! Apart from that I have tried to keep as busy as possible so we have had loads of playdates and activities planned this week. My trousers are all sooooo tight but I don't want to get my maternity clothes out until after the scan which is silly but only 24 hours with my top button undone left (hopefully)

Hope everyone has a lovely evening and LOTS of luck to anyone else with scans tomorrow

HaitchJay · 16/08/2012 17:55

We have those toastie bags from the pound shop , much easier to clean than a machine.

Envy at all your scans and picture jojo but eek at the cyst. Do they plan to do anything with it or leave it until after birth?

manda echoing everyone else, never heard of anyone trying for HB before 16 weeks so nothing to worry about if the MW didn't get anything.

JoJoBella84 · 16/08/2012 18:19

I'm not seeing a consultant until 30th who will re measure it in Aberdeen. So as things stand I don't know what the plan is with it!! I hope it's just a blip caused by mid measurement.
But it's pointless worrying about it until I find out more so only two weeks to wait until then :)

Bambi86 · 16/08/2012 18:21

Wow it's been a while...sorry!

Had terrible sickness for the past 3 weeks, being sick up to 9 times a day! Turns out I had a water infection too (not sure if this caused sickness), and now I'm feeling a lot better! I've lost around a stone in 15 days, the doc is not worried - anyone else experienced the same?

Set fire to an oven glove the other day...flames and everything.Still not entirely sure how it happened?

I have such a crappy taste in my mouth, it's really getting me down. Don't fancy any foods, feel sick 24/7...just want to sleep all the time to forget about it. Selfish to moan, I know, as many more are going through worse. I just wish this crappy taste would leave my mouth :(

HaitchJay · 16/08/2012 18:35

bambi I had the taste last time and nothing beats it. It did go at about 12 weeks though so fingers crossed for you!

Tay1981 · 16/08/2012 18:57

bambi sounds like you have hyperemesis. I have had it both pregnancies - this also lost about a stone. In my experience they don't worry about the lost weight but just tell you to eat what you can and stay hydrated. There are some fantastic hyperemesis support threads on here - we'd be glad to have you!! If you start to feel terrible again there are meds that the GP can prescribe - you might have those already. The taste is foul - I'm afraid I don't have any advice on getting rid however mine has improved now that I am managing to eat more regularly and getting on top of weight loss.

I've got raging thrush - very upset about it. Just want to feel well again!! Anyone else had a problem with this? I didn't have it with DD but have had it plenty before I had her. Plus allergic to canesten. Is very sore now - any tips on natural remedies much appreciated - always just taken the tablet in the past.

Great news on the all the scans!! Got my official 12 week scan on 27th Aug. Fingers crossed for it - been feeling little flutters from baby then nothing for few days since thrush flared up can't help but worry.

JoJoBella84 · 16/08/2012 19:14

tay the only natural remedy I'm aware of is natural yogurt. Not entirely sure it's safe but I seem to hear it a lot!!

lannyshrops · 16/08/2012 19:17

Thanks for all the welcomes!
My booking appointment went well, deffo feels real now, cant wait for my scan, only 13 days to go!I don't see a consultant my care appears to be entirely midwife led which is fine by me, but is this normal?
sheldon i'm feeling rather frisky, however although my mind is able, my body is so definately not! DH is being very understanding about my love affair with our bed rather than him!
kirsty well done on your decision to remain positive, easy to say and so difficult to do! Keep it up! It's the motto I am trying to go with but not always easy, I blame the hormones...it works for everything else!!
pinkpeony a fellow marmite lover! When i surgically detatch myself from the toilet, I'm loving it too! I have to stop myself eating it straight from the jar, somehow I suspect thats not so good!
bambi all I can send is super sympathy. My SIL has been suffering terribly too. You poor, poor thing, and you can be as selfish as you like, we are all entitled to be selfish and moany from time to time! lot's of hugs!

tedmundo · 16/08/2012 19:33

Another one here who's sickness has turned up a notch. Spent this evening so far puking up clear acid bile. My throat is agony. Stupid DH has swanned off to football with the sage advice to just keep the DSs up until he gets home and he will put them to bed. They are knackered and I frankly have had enough of them. I am going to attempt to read a story and see if they will go down. Reading aloud makes me sick too. I think it is looking at the text.

Sorry for the self pitying post. I am miserable. I truly and living and breathing for the end of the trimester.

GummiberryJuice · 16/08/2012 19:41

Oh Zoey I have scan date its just its not until the 4th like chefette, someone asked further up thread had we all got our scans yet so was having a little moment of self pity Grin

Tay I felt a few flutters too a few days ago, it does say on the trusty internet that you can feel some movements very early on

Ted My dd1 had chicken pox when I first found out I was pg with ds, hope your ds gets better soon

newyearsday · 16/08/2012 20:03

gummi and tay read with interest how you can feel little movements, I can too but thought it's far too early (11+4). How amazing! This week is flying by and a busy weekend ahead so scan on Monday will be here before we know it.

ending lots of sympathy for those suffering with sickness. Hope you're all feeling tip top very soon. I just generally feel under the weather now, definitely improving as the weeks go by.

Loving all the scan news!
