My cats are exactly the same! Very 'clingy' and cuddly. It's actually really cute. The youngest one is only a year and loves to curl up in my lap, I keep telling him to make the most of it as soon I won't have room Grin

Lexiindisguise · 15/08/2012 19:04

great news Sheldon! Smile

HaitchJay · 15/08/2012 19:07

Yay sheldonella

Cats seem to know when someone is pregnant.

tiddleypompom · 15/08/2012 19:20

Hooorrraaaaayyyyyy sheldon!!!!

JoJoBella84 · 15/08/2012 19:38

Fab news sheldon !!!!

theTramp · 15/08/2012 19:52

Lexi - very cute. Mine are older and a bit rotund these days, I'm already relegating them to be by my side rather than sit on me. Not that this is going down well. Apparently she works well as a beard and as a hat...

Sheldon - fab news, you guys must be so chuffed

Lexiindisguise · 15/08/2012 20:01

Ahh Tramp I love older cats! Our other one is 11 and a right grumpy princess, she has her little routines which I love - favourite place to sit is on 'her' special arm of the sofa!

Em2010 · 15/08/2012 20:30

Just a very quick post to say yay to sheldon !!! must be such a relief!! Will try and come back and post more later when ds is not running around. Bad mother alert.....

Em2010 · 15/08/2012 20:41

tramp just skim read your post and thought you were talking about your children!!!! Cats makes a lot more sense ( though I'm sure they are your babies!)

theTramp · 15/08/2012 20:45

Lexi - both of mine are 11. Attention seeker (B) hates being left out. So any cuddles are likely to be interrupted by her furry grumbling presence. I think she and my other half almost tolerate each other now. But I'm not 100% convinced. She is not going to take the presence of project socrates well (in joke) once (assuming all is well) the new addition to our family arrives. The other (betty) is going to totally love having a small human to guard.

You're so right about the routines too. B needs me to escort her from stairs to food bowl in morning, or she won't eat and sulks. Betty needs me to escort her upstairs, she won't trust my other half to feed her, even though he does. And both need me to go outside with them in the morning or they won't go out. I think I'm what is known as a sucker.

ChildOfThe1980s · 15/08/2012 20:52

Thank you Sundae but I think it's the amniotic sac (they called it birthing sac) rather than the yolk sac, if that makes sense? Do you think there might be articles about that? I tried to search but it's a bit much for my brain at the mo :) But it does help.

Congrats Sheldon ! Sorry I missed it, why did you have an early scan? Glad that puts your mind at rest.

I have two cats They annoy me a lot of the time, but when they snuggle next to you and purr for hours in the evening, I love them to bits.

Tramp you softie! :p

HermioneBoo · 15/08/2012 21:08

Congrats sheldon !!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 15/08/2012 21:11

Hi all

Great news sheldonella! what a relief!

Jojo as rainbow said, you will get green notes in york.

tiddley I am only having a 12 week scan. No early scan for me, will just wait til September. Will hopefully fx be some good closure as Scan is planned for 10th Sept and last pg (that ended in MMC) due date was 8th sept.

Funeral was fine. It was my great aunt who'd died. She'd had a really active and full life and died very quickly of a brain haemorrhage at 85, so actually quite a good way to go. She was still doing open gardens and lunch dates up until the day she died, so and had a good life. Will be strange without her though, especially for my mum, as her family is v small. Was a pleasant service and very fitting so whilst it was a sad day, was also a celebration of her life.

Tinker, hope your GF's funeral is ok on Friday. Xxx

Feeling totally knAckered, DD has taken to getting up through the night and as I type this is shouting from the top of the stairs 'I can't go to sleep...' gaaaah! Confused never been an issue before. Blimmin toddlers!

V jealous of holiday chat, although had a cheeky week in Spain in may, dartmouth in sept and centre parcs in Nov, so not all bad!! Grin

Good you're all ok and warm welcome to the new ladies!

Lexiindisguise · 15/08/2012 22:09

Tramp, if you are one, I am one too - DH calls me the mad cat lady. Not sure how ours will take to the bean (I love Project Socrates!) either - will be interesting to see how they adjust.
Ethelred sorry for your loss, glad your great aunt had such a fulfilling life x

theTramp · 16/08/2012 00:09

Lexi - I'm just shy of mad cat lady and I'm clinging on to that just. I'm sure our cats will adjust. They might not like but they'll adjust!

Chefette · 16/08/2012 07:27

Ladies! Morning all Grin I just can't keep up, not really a prob as Don't have much exciting news. I'll ramble on regardless anyway as I am not driving this morning, car share buddy is. Congrats to all with scan news-good to see everyone is full of beans.......(groan) !! And much sympathy for those that are struggling with The System, I'm a rager about that sort of thing, luckily the wrath has yet to be unleashed this side of the border. Can't wait for this week to be over, weirdly have started to feel absolutely cream crackered and basically wiped out like am swimming through syrup. Nausea has made an appearance in the morning after not a jot of MS to date, which is a bit weird at over 10 wks????

Looking forward to next week, we too are doing work on the house (finally) and have next week off and so new windows going in mon and tues and I shall be wielding my trusty paint brush to get downstairs looking shipshape before our new flooring goes down in September. DP working in garden last night, basically raising it to the ground, worryingly muttering about mini-diggers........?!

No sign of bumpage but I suppose early days, although hard to tell under the significant belly podge, there is a bit of excess tonnage Blush however, strangely, the very healthy eating (no junk or processed food, raw, natural, whole meal, basically devout consumption) has seen about a stone and a half come off, despite being full every meal. No vino or aperos helped I imagine!! Any way was 4.5 stones overweight Blush so there's a bit spare!

Am quietly frustrated at not being able really to celebrate (or more importantly for me PLAN!!!) until scan etc has happened, another 3 weeks. I agree with others that it doesn't feel real-just dust, made me laugh. We saw a heartbeat at the dating scan, where it was estimated to be 6.5 weeks, even though we couldn't really fit that with my dates, think DPs swimmers must have super staying power Grin

Right, about to arrive at work, have good days everyone, and sorry again for not name checking Confused

Chefette · 16/08/2012 07:29

Oh and also am mad-ish cat lady with 2 black and white moggy sisters who rule the house and don't even think they are cats!

tiddleypompom · 16/08/2012 08:01

Quick one to say good luck to kurly - hoping we both get what we wish for this morning...

lannyshrops · 16/08/2012 08:12

Hey! Can I join please? Only plucked up the courage to join mn yesterday as joining before seemed like tempting fate! This is our first, due on march 13th. I have my booking appointment this morning and first scan in two weeks...eeek! DH is being wonderful, I am mainly green with a new best friend, aka the toilet bowl and the cat I think has moved out :(

zoeymlucas · 16/08/2012 08:52

Woo hoo congrats sheld on you baby bean Smile Your baby bean is only a day behind me
Welcome lanny we share our due date but I have admit I wont be in March as previous 2 have been 12 and 8 weeks early :)
Got my 12 week scan yesterday and its on the same day as my consultant appointment where he will scan me too but 4 hours later and with the hospital being 40 mins away I need to change that

tedmundo · 16/08/2012 09:02

sheldon .. Congrats on the scan. You must be so happy!

Good luck to the ladies with scans today. Enjoy seeing your beans.

I am also a mad cat lady and entirely unapologetic about it. Cats rock. I am having trouble sleeping so I get up, pad downstairs and spend a happy quarter of an hour stroking my beautiful pet. It chills me out enough to go back to bed and sleep!

I am eating so much and getting a chubby tummy. I plan to scale back the scoffing as soon as the sickness passes. In the morning it looks quite firm and a neat bump, but as soon as I eat breakfast, it softens and droops and looks like the spare tyre it really is! I wear a lot of White Stuff which is a bit maternity looking anyway, so am managing to get away with it so far. I will be glad to tell people though. 10 days to the 12 week scan ... And counting ....

My new food fetish is cocoa pops. Can't get enough.

Is anyone else feeling a bit frisky?! Even with the sickness, I am feeling pretty good in that dept. DH loving my boobs as usually I am flat as a pancake!

Sheldonella · 16/08/2012 09:12

Thanks so much ladies, I'm so happy - cried with happiness as soon as I woke up this morning :)
ted I also find that with my White Stuff clothes. The dresses seem to have plenty of room and I'm living in them at the moment.
I'm Envy at all the cats. I would love at cat but both DH and I are allergic to them. Might like a dog one day.
Huge good luck to tiddley and kurly for scans today (and anyone else - sorry if I've missed you). Ooh, and welcome lanny
Due date is now 14th March I think and I'm 10 weeks today :)

kirsty80 · 16/08/2012 09:25

Lanny welcome! You have the same due date as me I love it 13-3-13!

Sheldon sooooooo pleased for you! I was thinking of you yesterday but couldn't get onto check what you were all upto Sad it only proved how either how completely addicted to mn I am or how it only takes a little thing to put me in a bad mood!!!

So.... The day before yesterday I had my booking in appointment/ pregnancy history/ bloods etc with the loveliest midwife she rang epu while I was there and asked for an early scan ASAP - this worried me and I said "so you think something is going to go wrong too?!" to which she said "no but given your history I understand why to feel that way and I want to reassure you do that you start enjoying this pregnancy" isn't that the nicest kindest thing ever!!!

Yesterday's scan was amazing! Bean was dancing and brought me so much relief! My 12 week scan is the 30th aug - which will be my 3rd scan - I know I'm very lucky and don't mean to rub it into those desperate for scans BUT I have decided to get excited for that scan now and start enjoying being pregnant rather than worrying all the time easier said than done!!!

Have a good day everyone - not sure if I've missed any scan dates today - so good luck if it is today sorry for no names! X.

theTramp · 16/08/2012 09:25

Lanny - welcome. Our first too and I'm about 10 weeks now so still waiting on scan. It's nail biting stuff but also awesome.. Well it is if you ignore the nausea, exhaustion, headaches & bloating :)

Let's us know how the scans go ladies.

zoeymlucas · 16/08/2012 09:48

Cant believe how many of us due on 13-3-13 :)

Told DH abit about mums net last night didnt say what it was called etc just a pregnancy online club and said I wasnt the only hormonal one and person that was exhausted and he replied with a smile that he was glad I had found somewhere to share my crazy with - CHARMING!!

kirsty your midwife sounds lovely and I am glad she is making you feel better about things! I have had a scan and have one booked for for 30th too now. Well they have book me 2 for that day one with consultant and one normal 12 week but think 2 on 1 day is too much for anyone
