Blackcurrants I'll second that. I don't know why DD wants to wipe my bottom for me, and I had to hide the toilet roll when she started wanting to do her own.

emily it's rubbish isn't it, but do you have any sisters or other relatives/ inlaws to get all excited for you?

I applied for a promotion ages ago (before getting pregnant) within the company but totally different department. I eventually got told a few months ago that I hadn't even got an interview. But today I got an email saying they were setting up interviews for the next job down (same as my current level) and am I free next week!

Although I don't think I could afford it if I got it. I'd need to cover an extra day's childcare (for 2!) and travel to about 70 miles each way. I think I was pushing my luck looking for that payrise on a promotion.

It will be fun turning up to an interview obviously pregnant. Last time I had an interview at 37 weeks.

I'm very pleased to have been able to bring some smiles to you ladies :o

DP is now upset with me and swears he didn't say "Romans".... perhaps I'll take him to bed early and rub his back

Bubbless my bad wind is all of the above,Blush while pretending my fart did not happen I caught a whiff and I still can't decide if I should be proud or mortified!

Thanks blackcurrants Maybe it is the dairy...Hmm really into yoghurt at the moment Confused

And thank you to all those that have shared a wee story :o DP was especially disturbed by your story Spotty but personally I think they're all great. If I end up on blue team once bean arrives I will laugh every time DP gets weed on/in the face/other as yet unforeseeable wee related hilarity... Ok, it's my bedtime. Nighty night all!!

itsMYNutella · 16/08/2012 21:23

Barbeasty first two lines of your post honestly made me LOL!! :o thank you!

emilyeggs · 16/08/2012 21:41

barbeasty I have a sister but she has three dc's and a step dc so is a bit over it all, I'm ok now, was just feeling It a bit is all. DH has promised a trip to mamas & papas and he has to look interested ha ha!

MyDaydream · 16/08/2012 21:52

Sounds like there are a lot of us having a rubbish time.
stacey we have a contact for emergencies but not stuff like this. We're trying to get email contact with the landlord to sort it out.
nutella I do a lot of pretending it never happened after farting in public!
Me and DP never let each other wee in peace. We can go hours not talking to each other but as soon as one of us goes to the toilet we have burning info.
bubbles we've got the handyman tracking him down via email for us, we're not guaranteed this house of course but knowing we can get in touch means were still in the running for this one or we can keep looking. If we can't get in touch we probably won't move until after baby which I don't want. My mum bought baby a little panda hat and mittens to cheer me up!

kate2boysandabump · 16/08/2012 21:52

emily good news on the scan, sorry you and others are feeling Sad

Someone always follows me to the toilet, after 9 years, I'm used to it.

My baby let's me know I need a wee, by helpfully prodding my bladder, as if to say ' go to the toilet mommy, your wee is taking up valuable play space, go now or I will dance on your bladder some more.' I can tell he's going to be trouble!

ISpyPlumPie · 16/08/2012 22:53

Emily - congratulations on the scan.

Sounds like there's been quite a few rubbish days all round - hope things start to look up for everyone soon.

MyDaydream - it must be really frustrating feeling like you're being left to deal with the housing situation yourself.

DH can need quite a bit of prompting to get stuff sorted at times too (although to be fair he completely surprised me tonight by starting to empty what will be the baby's room ready to decorate). When I was pregnant with DS, there was quite a bit of procrasitination in sorting a time to go and buy his cot etc. We were lying in bed one morning and as DH said that we should maybe go today, DS booted me really hard and because of the way we were lying this resulted in him literally kicking his dad up the arse to sort things out! To be fair, it worked Grin.

SeymoreInOz · 17/08/2012 05:19

Hi all, just checking in. I have been completely rubbish and not even posted on this thread. I've been lurking and reading though, congrats on all the scan results and to the newbies!

I've been really homesick recently and DH is away on a stag do this weekend which won't help with the loneliness. I'm just used to having family around, this will be my first birth without my mum there to hold my hand and keep an eye on the midwives (she was a midwife in her 20s before moving on to other things).

Baby bump feels huge now and you can see the kicks from outside which is good for keeping the DCs entertained.

I've been reading all your shopping lists with trepidation. So far I have purchased a box of nappies and a sleepsuit. Blush

knottyhair · 17/08/2012 07:20

Hi Seymore, sorry you're feeling homesick Sad. Loving all the wee/wind stories. ItsMyNutella, my DP also sits for a wee and leaves the door open, and he's Austro/Italian - maybe it's a continental thang??

PurplePidjin · 17/08/2012 07:37

Dp and several of his mates (really don't know why i know this!) reckon if it's got a seat you should sit on it for hygiene reasons. Dp from West London (via the Caribbean), one from Liverpool, one from Essex...

JoJoB77 · 17/08/2012 07:55

My DH sits down to wee too, he's a West Midlands chap Grin

SeymoreInOz · 17/08/2012 08:11

DH sits to wee because our loo seat won't stay up, I think there was an injury at some point.

MyDaydream · 17/08/2012 08:20

I wish my DP would sit down, I've tried explaining that if you regularly miss the bowl by an inch then you should probably step back and inch and it'll all be okay!

PurplePidjin · 17/08/2012 09:00

Daydream, get a plastic spider and some fishing twine. Tie one end of the twine to the hinge and the other to the spider so he dangles on the surface of the water

Queenofsiburbia · 17/08/2012 10:56

Hello all
Feeling like absolute crap with this stupid cold. If I was a man I would def call it flu!
Trying not to take too many paracetemol, just sticking to before bed but means I'm knackered and breathless and the constant coughing is killing my stomach muscles (& severely testing pelvic floor Blush )

Love the wee stories - laughing set my coughing off but worth it!
DH grew up on a farm & we now live in countryside & he just never really wees inside. Says he's encouraging the puppy to go outside who was house trained months ago Hmm

Regarding the wind.... Mine has been def worse in pregnancy but not pongy generally although DH did wake me up the other night going "Aaargh! my skin's melting!" Blush
that one was abit smelly.

I did a very loud one in baby gap & turned round in shock & surprise at a women who had her back to me [evil grin]

MyDaydream · 17/08/2012 11:59

Pidj maybe wee games is just what we need although a spider in the bowl would freak me out on my regular half asleep night time trips to the loo! I once went somewhere that had a football game on the urinals, the men I was out with found it very entertaining.
Queen feel better soon. My step dad has a wee outside every night with the dog, he considers it a bonding experience with mans best friend!
I'm feeling a bit more hopeful about the house today, we made email contact with the landlord late last night who is happy to deal with it all even though he's away and the owners of the new house are happy to go with us even though I'm not working or planning on (which was another big worry). And DP has agreed if we get it that we can get a bigger bed too!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2012 12:08

Great news MyDaydream Smile

Queenofsiburbia · 17/08/2012 12:09

Thanks mydaydream. Im hoping for some looking after this weekend from DH although I'll probably be better by then!

A spider in the loo would tip me over the edge! Still recovering from the monster that was in the dirty washing basket 2 weeks ago.Yuk.

Great news about your landlord, good luck & fingers crossed! We're renting & looking for somewhere new. I also hate our current place, it's so exposed & windy all the time (& some of thats not from me Wink )

I'm plucking up courage to check the 'due in August' thread. Gulp.

FriendofDorothy · 17/08/2012 13:32

Right people I am off camping for a couple of weeks. No doubt I won't have much internet access so see you when I get back!

blackcurrants · 17/08/2012 14:20

Have a good time, Friend - I am dead impressed with you camping, I can't go to bed without Brian (my pregnancy pillow and my new truelove) and about 400 other pillows wedging me in! DH calls it my "no boys allowed" pillowfort. Grin Hope you've got a comfy air mattress!

In a 'makes you smile' moment, DS is obsessed with Adele, and loves singing along to "rolling in the deep" while bouncing on his indoor trampoline. And "Rumour Has it." So when he found the whole genre of "toddlers singing Adele" on youtube, he nearly swooned with joy! :) Some mornings I stop being grumpy about being pregnant and feel so fortunate to be a mum at all. Kids are hysterically funny.

MyDaydream · 17/08/2012 14:28

Queen good luck finding something new. Our town is crazy for rental houses, the one we're applying for went up on Tuesday night and 3 people had viewed it by we saw it on Wednesday evening! I like our house, it's just not very practical for children and needs some work. If we owned it we could make it perfect, but I don't think we'll be in buying position for a few more years!
Friend hope you have fun camping.

Bubbless · 17/08/2012 15:28

daydream good news about your landlord!

gilsbubbles · 17/08/2012 15:41

Barbeasty · 24/08/2012 16:18

Mytime- if you follow the link in the post before yours it will take you to the thread we moved onto. They tend to move fast!

I'm getting there (reusing lots of stuff from DD) but struggling with the pushchair.

Congratulations.
