Hello puds!!
Long time no chat, hope everyone doing well (constipation & other occupational hazards excepted Wink )

Cannot believe you've got 15 weeks left clarella !!! That means I've got 17 weeks [scared emoticon] OMG!

So obsessed with Olympics & loving the rowing girls getting first gold! Makes me want a girl (& to be a 'pushy tiger mom' - I'm far too lazy though!).

prunella is it me Grin I always over share & think I should probably NC but don't want to because of this thread!

AND FINALLY.....because I am short my wriggler keeps kicking me in ribs & stomach. Sometimes very very fast (like a spaniel's tail wagging clarella ha ha). It's flipping uncomfortable!

MyDaydream · 02/08/2012 18:25

Queen I told DP last night if we have a boy I'm pushing him into gymnastics, I was very impressed with the skill and strength those guys have.

Stacks · 02/08/2012 18:28

Bubbless I found out recently its possible to get braxton Hicks from 16 weeks! So could be possible pain was that?

Well its been forever since I posted last. Been tired and busy, and was lurking for too long. Will try to keep up now.

Barbeasty · 02/08/2012 18:33

Honey that's fab news about the heart.
Well, SIL has cleaned the carseat, so we'll just have to work out how to put it all back together again.

And I've definitely got asthma, so got my new inhalers today. Hopefully I'll get rid of the cough I've had for over a year because my pregnant bladder control isn't up to it

EggsMichelle · 02/08/2012 18:42

Welcome to the thread State, and congratulations

Brilliant news Honey, deep sigh of relief!

Bubbless it could be any number of things, I get pain like that with gas, but you can't diagnose a pregnant woman with Google or over the phone, it's not worth the risk. Definitely a&e if you are concerned.

I know it was discussed ages ago, but only just got round to looking, apparently I have an anterior placenta, I wonder if that's why I can feel such a strong pulse on my belly?

Eaten far too much flapjack today, but taste soo good Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 02/08/2012 18:45

Eggs I have that big pulse in my tummy, can even see it moving. Also anterior placenta.

EggsMichelle · 02/08/2012 18:49

Oh Barbeasty I love Cribbs, miss it so much since moving. Going to Bristol for two nights on our way to Cornwall next week, will definitely have to stop at Cribbs.

StateofConfusion · 02/08/2012 19:11

I've been getting braxton hicks since around 18wks, never had any with ds or dd so it freaked me right out, they're not pleasant!

I'm convinced this baby is a boy, and have seen some lovely outfits in tescos I neeeeed. Since our youngest is a girl a girl would be an easier option but I don't care I just want a smushy baby!! I will admit I told to sonographer when pregnant with dc2 if it was a boy I would cry (how awful am I) luckily it was a girl, and I can certainly say her temperament and sleep avoidance tactics are deffinatly my punishment for being so desperate to get her!

CODwidow · 02/08/2012 19:24

I also get really bad cramps which I've realised are wind and I find a peppermint tea after eating stops most of these but I would still say get checked out of they continue.

Anyway just checking in on new thread Smile

ISpyJumpHigh · 02/08/2012 19:33

Welcome State.

Glad everything went well Honey.

Suprised myself by being organised today. I don't see the mw again until 28 weeks, which would technically be too late to hand the MAT B1 form into work Although they v. kindly 'overlooked' the fact it was a tad late last time didn't want to push my luck, and DH's employers are much stricter now too. Knew the mw would be at the drs today so rang to ask if she could complete it for me to collect. Despite the receptionist making out it would be mission impossible, mw was more than happy to do it and I just need to call in and collect it now.

Well that's one thing I can tick of the list, only about 1000 more to go.......

ISpyJumpHigh · 02/08/2012 19:34

Oh and Bubbles and Friendof hope you are both feeling better soon.

pmgkt · 02/08/2012 19:41

i have a visable pulse and anteria placenta, does anyone know if tha is why or maybe i'll ask when i see the mw next.

HoneyMum21 · 02/08/2012 19:47

Hi all, thanks for all the messages about the cardiac scan :) we are very relieved to say the least.
Welcome State
Hope you're feeing better Friend and Bubbles - listen to your body and if something doesn't feel right get it checked out :)
Eggs and Spotty - i feel/see that pulse but my placenta is posterior.

We got keys for our new house yesterday and today we have built a sofa and a coffee table :) We but up Bump's baby gym too :)

I'm taking my mum for a day out tomorrow as she's been having a rough time lately so hoping a day shopping will cheer her up

WeeJo08 · 02/08/2012 19:49

Does anyone know what all the Biometry/Anatomy terms mean on the scan report? Like BPD, HC, TCD, etc?

SpottyTeacakes · 02/08/2012 20:03

AC - abdominal circumference. This is the measurement where the ring went around the fetal belly, like where a belt would go

FL - fetal length. This is the length of the thigh bone from the knee joint to the hip joint.

BPD - bi-parietal diameter. This is the measurement of a line drawn from ear to ear, through the brain.

EFW - estimated fetal weight.

FHR - fetal heart rate.

HC - Head circumference

TCD - Transcerebellar Diameter

Apparently!

4MrsCoyle5 · 02/08/2012 20:32

Ahh..wasn't sure how this worked. Thread ran out and I wasn't sure what next...lol

So thanks to all the welcomes (sorry if I missed any) and was wondering if anyone can explain why I became high risk when I turned 30 (3weeks ago), but had been low at 29? MW called saying I now have to go here, there and everywhere (more bloods, pokes, scans etc) due to this. When I asked why she simlpy replied "you're 30". Help???

SpottyTeacakes · 02/08/2012 20:37

Hmm I suppose they have to have a cut off point somewhere? So all over 30's will be high risk

4MrsCoyle5 · 02/08/2012 20:44

spotty thank - That's what I was thinking, but I keep going round in my head "what if that's just an excuse?" I read NHS guidelines and they say 35! and over 40 could cause problems with baby too - but I only 30!! She could've said at booking appointment - I said that to her to (to be fair I gave her a hard time). But surely there are other factors, not just turning 30? They want to test me for clotting problems, pelvic density (new one on me) etc...and I keep thinking Why now, after 4 babies (no problems)?? Arrgh driving me mad!! lol

SpottyTeacakes · 02/08/2012 20:48

Possibly extra scan though Grin positive thinking! It's probably hospital policy

mwahmwah · 02/08/2012 20:51

Wow, blackberry was in getting fixed and it took me two days to catch up with the old thread! Nice to see all the good scan news, mine's not till next Fri when I'm 20+2.
Since being offline, dh has got a promotion at work which means my options about going back to work (or not) have suddenly increased! Thing is, I quite like my job but wish I could do it part time and there"s sadly no chance of that. Hmmm decisions, decisions...

4MrsCoyle5 · 02/08/2012 20:52

Yeah - has benefits I suppose lol Guess extra attention is good, even if it reminds you how old you're getting!! Just wish I'd been told at the start. Dropping things like this, when you assume all is well - it's a shock to the system. I'll just go have a cup of tea and wait til the scan...too impatient!! (thanks for calming me down xx)

4MrsCoyle5 · 02/08/2012 20:53

ooh...mwah how do you stay so collected?? My scan is 31st and I have no nails left...

ISpyJumpHigh · 02/08/2012 21:14

They must have different policies about age in different places - I'm 31 but classed still classed as low risk. I think I did make some reference to being over 30 this time at one point and the mw just said "you're not that old" or something to that effect! Still it's good you'll have the reassurance of extra checks.

Bellaboo123 · 02/08/2012 21:20

Just checking in Grin hi everyone!
