Thanks everyone, I've just updated the stats thread!

We have a moses basket on a stand and planning to bring that downstairs in the daytime as well as using at night. One of my friends who is having DS2 in October has bought a bedside crib on ebay as she thinks that will suit her better at night for feeding. I'm going to wait before buying anything else and see what the little ones likes, in case she does / doesn't take to the moses basket.

So it looks like summer is over... thunderstorms and rain here in Belfast. My waterproof jacket is only just zipping up and at the rate my bumo is growing I recon I have about 2 weeks wear left in it. I commute to work on public transport so need a decent waterproof jacket to see me through till december.

Has anyone come across anything??

I can find plenty of wool coats etc but I need something a bit more functional.

gilsbubbles · 15/08/2012 16:21

Welcome drops (on phone couldn't remember the first part of your name as soon as I clicked off).
Im sat outside DPs office waiting for him so we can go view a house. This morning when I arranged it it was sunny, now we face a 10 minute walk in the pissing rain.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 15/08/2012 17:00

Hi everyone, welcome to our newbie.

I've been laid up in bed again with bad braxton hicks (I hope) and backache (that's the bit making me worry as it comes and goes) spoke to the midwife who said paracetamol and rest. So now in the bath trying to take it easy!

We've got a crib for our room and a Moses basket for downstairs during the day. We were just going to have the Moses basket and transport it but as we were given the crib we might as well use it!

Hopefully the weather is a bit better tomo as we have a fun day booked!

Bubbless · 15/08/2012 17:25

stacey- sorry to hear your having such a shit time of it, youve been bad for a few days now, no?
id say if it continues then give the maternity ward a quick call, isnt this really early for braxton hicks?!

Clarella · 15/08/2012 17:51

Welcome judrops! Am I old at 35?! First, and feels like it!

Sorry to hear that Stacey, I think I get bh but they don't hurt - just a weirdly very solid bump. Hope you feel better soon.

Oh elliebelle sounds fun!

Hope viewing goes ok daydream - rain on way here too, am sat in my Wellies (following recent repeats of the floods I'm taking no chances!) on a spookily stationary metro on way to docs. Getting v anxious about it but hoping distraction of buying a wee pressi for my niece beforehand will help.

Utopian, re ball and male architects - I know a lot of them and ime are usually impressed by some uber useful design speil (ie effectiveness of design of ball for client) or spray paint it silver and pretend its a death star. I bet half their backs are buggered anyway and they'll want to pinch it.

I've been given a bedside cot - anyone only used cots or is a Moses basket better? (still tempted by drawer idea!)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 15/08/2012 17:57

Thanks guys bubbless apparantly braxton hicks can start around 16 ems Shock I never had them with the other 2 until about 32 weeks so this is all new to me!

Between this and sickness it's been a shit week! Although packing dcs off to my parents on Friday and me and DH are going to lymington for a week so hopefully I feel better then (must remember to pack my notes just in case) feeling mush better after a wallow in the bath though so hopefully it's just my body which doesn't seem to mix well with pregnancy complaining a bit!

clarella my ds went straight into a cot, other than looking tiny in it he was fine if you wanna use a drawer use a drawer just don't put it back in the chest and close it Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 15/08/2012 18:03

I've been getting Braxton Hicks for ages, never painful ones though so I feel for you Stacey hopefully it calms down soon, I reckon a week away is just what you need!

PurplePidjin · 15/08/2012 18:28

Stacey, come to the Freshfields festival! I'll be on the Lighthouse stall :o

Queenofsiburbia · 15/08/2012 18:54

Hi everyone & welcome Judrops!

Feeling rubbish due to a cold but on

Queenofsiburbia · 15/08/2012 19:04

grr stupid phone clumsy fingers
Ahem.....On the plus side, lazing around sniffling & coughing has forced me to really closely look at the need-to-have list given by maternity nurse, which I was too daunted by before!

I have been drinking gallons too. And getting wierd hard bump! And think I have Nicola Adams clone as a baby- gold medal winning boxer!!!

Saw good friends yesterday who are both pregnant, due sept & oct so quite handy getting Advance notice if whats just about to happen! Apparently Braxton hicks do get flipping painful, like a stitch. Yippee. Also they haven't bought anything either. Not even a sock!

Sex is up & down (sorry that's not meant to be a pun Grin) depending on our tiredness. Makes me insecure if he isn't trying to get some but sort of annoys me if he is & I don't feel like it. Who said we were tricky?!

Congrats all those on good scan news, anybody left to go?

SpottyTeacakes · 15/08/2012 19:27

Queen I only had mildly painful braxton hicks once last pregnancy so you might be lucky! Usually they were just tightenings.

mwahmwah · 15/08/2012 19:38

Anyone else completely fecking knackered? I could literally go to bed and sleep till due date!

Saphiesgirl · 15/08/2012 20:20

Hi, I've been away on holiday, finished reading old thread and gave up trying to catch up after six pages on this one! Our scan went well, still team yellow although I'm really keen to know ( thought hubby should have his way as I make most decisions and will find out eventually!).
Glad to hear of things doing well and sorry I've not kept up better- you guys talk a lot!

emilyeggs · 15/08/2012 20:41

utopian I also have to drink all the time, woke three times last night to drink and been drinking all day (water) ha ha also means I need the loo all the time and that's down two flights at work ! Welcome puds
