Today i will be making choc fudge brownie muffins for dn's birthday cake. I will put on at least a lb, and another one on Monday at his party.

This baby is growing so fast

Pidj give us a muffin!!!

Really need to walk to the shop to buy yummy stuff for a picnic today but it's a lot of effort (at least I slept last night so no sickness today!)

ivanapoo · 14/08/2012 08:41

Clarella that means you're nearly in the 3rd trimester...!

Havent been on for a while. We sat down last night to work out our finances funnily enough given all the chat on here - we split everything down the middle at the mo even though I earn a little bit more, but what that means is I've been able to save a bit over past few months to use on leave when DH will be paying lion's share of bills etc. it's going to be tight!

Has anyone negotiated (or attempted to) a better mat leave package? Mine is statutory but I know they've given some staff enhanced benefits... Not sure the best way to tackle it though. A bit of extra cash would be massively helpful.

I think I've put on just over a stone but I lost almost half a stone in first few months so reckon it works out to be about 10lbs. Really keen not to pile on several stones but can't seem to go a day without some kind of cake or chocolatey thing at the moment which is Not Good!

PurplePidjin · 14/08/2012 08:46

I'm 24+4 and getting emails referring to 3rd trimester Confused

Also, how do i measure my bump? Is it sternum to pubes, or round the middle over my belly button?

Clarella · 14/08/2012 08:55

Pidg, top of uterus (feel for it) to pelvic bone when lying down - its a bit tricky to do by yourself!

gilsbubbles · 14/08/2012 08:59

Anyone else having trouble with snoring? I've stared in the past week and it's so bad I'm actually waking up DP. I've been having really restless sleep but didn't realize the snoring was so bad tool I woke up at 3 and found him taking refuge in the nursery. Just another joyful pregnancy symptom or worth mentioning to the midwife when I next see her?

PurplePidjin · 14/08/2012 09:03

12"/30.5cm... Now how do i find out if that's big, small or middling?!

I've had a completely normal pg so far (not a word that's normally associated with me) measuring spot on for dates, 50 somethingth percentile for foetal measurements etc. I'd be interested to know if I'm in the middle for this too!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/08/2012 09:15

It's meant to match the amount of weeks you are in cm. give or take a few!

Clarella · 14/08/2012 09:19

There's a graph in your notes - at the first 'measure in' the mw will plot you on the graph (starts at 24 wks so you can do it now but prob not actually mark!) - its tracked by your own comparative measurements roughly a cm a week I think? Mw was very keen to point out not to follow the graph and assume that you'll have a 10lb baby!

Clarella · 14/08/2012 09:27

Have to say after just attempting to measure it my self again I don't get anything near what the mw measured!

Clarella · 14/08/2012 09:33

Oh - you need to be 'semi recumbant'.....??

SpottyTeacakes · 14/08/2012 09:36

Like you would be on a hospital bed if propped up with pillows?

I'm thinking about Christmas, any budget we usually have for Christmas will al be going on baby stuff this year Sad so I'm thinking this for all the women/girls do you think it's lame?

Clarella · 14/08/2012 09:41

Lovely idea spotty :) might copy you

SpottyTeacakes · 14/08/2012 09:44

Oooo also seen cinnamon stick stars as Christmas decorations. I need to get organised!

MyDaydream · 14/08/2012 09:54

gils lovely pregnancy symptom I'm afraid. If I don't take my nose ring out on night I snore, but without it I'm okay at the minute.
spotty that's a lovely idea, especially with some nice jars and ribbon to dress it up with. Much better than my plan of "I gave you a grandchild/nephew/child you wanted a gift too?"
I've spent all weekend online window shopping for furniture and mentally decorating a house I was meant to be viewing today, but got a phonecall first thing saying it's let agreed. I've spent the whole weekend dreaming about that house, I'd decorated, furnished and raised my child to school age in that house!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/08/2012 09:57

Oh MyDaydream how disappointing! Don't worry something you will love even more will come along, it always does :)

PurplePidjin · 14/08/2012 09:58

Tried again and got 25 and a bit! Ah well, 8 days to wait for proper mw :o

MyDaydream · 14/08/2012 10:06

spotty I know, we're just having loads of shit with our house and the thought of moving made me really happy. I'm fully expecting it to take a year to find a house because our search area/budget narrow it down, especially since now I want to be in travelling distance of a certain hospital which narrows our search even further. I hate where we live but DPs work pays too well for us to move away, but since he's all about the saving for a rainy day since he was made redundant I can't get an extra £1-200p/m out of him for rent!

PrunellaDeVille · 14/08/2012 13:35

anyone else engrossed in the new stats list on uk baby names?
Prunella doesn't even make the list!
happy to see my prospective boys name tallied 9 this year and my girl's name also doesn't make the list.
but the list browsing doesn't stop there - i think i may be lost to the rest of the day...
