4Mrs, suppose I just think what will be will be, got a lot of worries with my lovely baby boy just now getting tests looking at his lack of speech/ refusal to walk, that combined with school hols for DD, and full time job kinda reduces my worry-bout-bean-time! Sure I'll be like a proper coiled spring next Fri though Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 02/08/2012 21:23

mwah I'm still waiting on dd's test results too Smile

giraffe213 · 02/08/2012 22:32

Hi all, hope everyone's doing ok - I seem to have missed 2 or 3 entire threads so don't think I'll be able to catch up! It's lovely to see what everyone's having who's found out, congratulations :)! I decided to wait and be surprised but I was very tempted.

cherrypiew3 · 02/08/2012 22:53

Welcome StateSmile

Glad the scan went well Honey

Mummycox We went to see batman on Sunday I really enjoyed it.

Good luck to anyone with scans tomorrow.

EggsMichelle · 03/08/2012 04:24

FL is femur length. And BPD in my job is borderline personality disorder, so to see it in my maternity notes would really confuse me!!!

Ask my mum (midwife) about the pulse thing, apparently our veins are more dilated and blood volume has increased which makes our pulse stronger and more visible.

I'm getting used to this waking up at stupid o clock, 3.45 today felt like a mini lie in. DH has made me a hot chocolate and having a cuddle with the dog in bed.

Queenofsiburbia · 03/08/2012 07:03

Grin eggs
Shouldn't all of us have BPD on our maternity notes sometimes?!

giraffe Im the same! Looking forward to the surprise but slightly impatient & wishing I knew already. You can't even shake/ feel the packaging like at Christmas Wink

Thanks for link to paternity form. I'll be filling it in for DH, then handing it in to..... DH! Because he has his own business I know he'll want to be back & forth so I'm not allowing any excuses.

Also as I work for him, I'm going to hand in my mat form to him which is quite funny! Looking forward to finding out his maternity pay package!

utopian99 · 03/08/2012 07:59

jojob77 good luck for today!

Kittens woke us up this morning by knocking s vase over, what joy, so our bedroom smells of dead flower water. Yum. Am trying not to take this as a sign for the scan (at 10am)
Also getting seriously hacked off with our builder who hasn't finished the kitchen he was supposed to on Wednesday. All i want is a house not covered in boxes/dust and to be able to cook involving vegetables again. Not sure if it's my natural state or being pg but going to have a real go at someone soon..

JoJoB77 · 03/08/2012 08:12

Good luck to you too Utopian Smile

And anyone else who is having a scan today Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 03/08/2012 08:31

Oops I meant femur length not fetal! Good luck on all the scans Smile

gilsbubbles · 03/08/2012 09:40

Anyone else suffering from freakishly vivid dreams? Having to do a bit of a reality check when I wake up

WeeJo08 · 03/08/2012 09:41

Happy Friday everyone! Hope scans go well today.

HoneyTea That's great news about the cardio scan! I'm sure you're really relieved :)

Spotty Thanks for the measurements translations! I was looking through my notes yesterday after reading through the thread and wondered what they meant. Also wanted to check where my placenta was..."high and posterior", according to my notes.

4Mrs You've got me worried now! We are hoping to fly home for my 30th birthday on the day before and then from there to fly out to Spain for a week's holiday. As I will be just over 28 weeks I will need to get the "Fit to Fly" letter from the doctor - do you think now they will change me to high risk as I will be (almost) 30 when we go?

giraffe213 · 03/08/2012 09:56

Lol at shaking the packaging! You can feel it a bit but never gonna find out the gender that way!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 03/08/2012 10:14

Hi everyone didn't manage to find new thread yest!!

Welcome state

honey I'm so glad the heart scan was ok!!

I get the pulse in my tummy too and my placenta is posterior.

This little munchkin is still fidgeting and def still breech as all movement is to the bottom of my uterus.

itsMYNutella · 03/08/2012 10:35

Hello everyone, well I blinked and had a busy two days so just spent ages catching up... posting a quick hello and wishing you all well. Welcome to the newbies!

Queen Isn't your baby arriving dressed in tweed? And I'm sure most tweed is pretty unisex so you can unwrap it then and find out Wink

weejo I think, thanks for the reminder about paternity... my DP loves a bit of pressure so he'll be pleased that I an add something else to his headaches :o

I can't wait for my scan on monday but I'm sticking with a surprise flavour.... I think Confused :)

Equimum · 03/08/2012 10:49

honey that's great news

weejo I don't think you should automatically be made high risk because you turn 30. I was 30 when I got pregnant, and both midwife and ost, who I saw for unrelated reason have agreed I'm low risk as this is my first and I'm of a healthy weight. Midwife said, round here at least, you're not high risk at 30 unless you've had 3+ previous pregnancies or high BMI, unless they actually detect a problem.

We're off for overnight stay in London later, followed by Olympics tomorrow. Slightly worried about long queues for the loos (sound like an old granny, I know) but am sure I'll survive!

Bubbless · 03/08/2012 12:08

utopian- im kinda scared about the "wrong" sex.. i think we all have an image of what we will be holding in dec and even though we will still be over the moon with the other sex im a bit scared il be dissapointed :/

daydream/ mummy- yeah feeling 100% now, it was so weird! i think it might have been a combo of consipation, tiredness, and where bubba was lying.. but in the morning before id been to the toilet it didnt hurt.. so i dont know Confused
LOL- when exhaustion kicks in you just dont wana move ;)

stacks i didnt even consider braxton hicks! [goes to investigate..]

4mrs clearly 29.9 and 30 are VERY different ages, and seeing as your practically an OAP they need to do more tests.. its stupid Hmm

WeeJo08 · 03/08/2012 12:09

Equimum Thanks for the reassurance :) Feel a bit better now. Have fun at the Olympics tomorrow! We went to the rowing on Wednesday and had such a good day. The facilities were really super and queues for the toilets (and everything else) were minimal - however, that was at Eton Dorney so not sure if the other venues will be the same.

thanks for all the input on the WWYD thread ladies, i was thrown into a lather yesterday by the situation and couldn't focus on anything else - rashly sent my BF a link to the thread as a solution. i'll leave the dust to settle now but all's good.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 03/08/2012 12:30

Aw prunella she seemed to take it well I'm sure all will be fine.

taking the kids to the cinema and it's hotter than the sun in here, god knows if I'll survive!!

utopian99 · 03/08/2012 12:34

Back from scan!
meant to say previously honey glad your scan went well too..

The crumb has been determined to be team blue, which is what we were hoping for, hurrah! Grin They say they're wrong one in 10 (i couldn't see what she was looking at to tell, but it's her specialism not mine!) so here's hoping..

prunella hope your dilemma resolves itself soon, good luck, and also have fun all you ladies off to the Games - very jealous.

Now off to beast the builder..

PrunellaDeVille · 03/08/2012 12:36

Can you get carpel tunnel pain in your elbow? I had really painful wrists when pregnant before but the past few days it's been from just above my elbow down to my hand. Thought it was a trapped nerve but not sure Confused

StateofConfusion · 03/08/2012 13:29

gils I get really vivid dreams and feel most confused when I wake up.

Boys are lovely utopian congrats!
