Bubless no, I wouldn't say the tight skin feeling you're getting are BH

Barbeasty that's really annoying about your dd's shoes, we also go to a small independent shoe shop which I find much better than ghastly Clark's.

4MrsCoyle5 · 04/08/2012 14:14

Wow..hard to catch myself here lol equimum think you might be onto something there with 3+ pregnancies as this is my 6th pregnancy, but 5th baby. I'm healthy in everything else though, got a good BMI etc...makes me laugh (almost) at the thought of being "old" at 30 (thanks bubless for pointing it out again lol)!! weejo don't know much about the rules for flying, as I don't like to go anywhere where I can't drive or get a boat (Ex RAF and hate planes...) sorry for worrying you though xx congratulations on all the good news here and (sorry, but.. ) it's also nice to see that I'm not the only panicking every 5 minutes about things that don't need panicked over!! Only genuine panic right now is that DH may be made redundant next month. Not too bad with getting a new job, just means he won't be intitled to any paternity leave if he has to get a new job - which sucks as the place he's at now offers 6 weeks at 90% from 38weeks.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/08/2012 14:15

Bubbless my bump is tight of I'm bloated but just my uterus is hard with the braxton hicks it's hard to describe tbh. I know I got them with the others but I can't remember when etc Blush

Went out with my best friend and the kids to walk her dogs this morning. Had a great time! Then had to brave asda with the kids as er have had no food in the house for about a week and there's only so much stretching my tin cupboards/freezer can take before I have to give in. It does mean I have lots of lovely stuff to eat now though. The peaches are delicious and actually better that they are still hard so have a bit of crunch, I've been eating huge chunks of cucumber to satisfy the need for crunch! Lol

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

olliebob · 04/08/2012 15:25

wow haven't looked on here since thursday and soo much reading to catch up. Been in work this week so felt very tired, also took the dc to chester zoo yesterday, which was lovely, although pelvis is paying for it today. It is dh birthday today, so we are out tonight and dreading it a little as getting so tired by 10 at the moment, dont know how i will last all night.

Congrats to all the good scan results. 4Mrs was v Shock to read that you are no classed as high reisk cos you have turned 30, i am 30 already and have 2 dc so must be that you have had a couple more.

kate2boysandabump · 04/08/2012 16:08

mydaydream thank you! I thought I had to go to the job centre, but I don't actually know where it is.

4Mrs ask why you are high risk, I'm 35, on dc3 and have a highish bmi and I'm still low risk. I think I have more going against me than you!

barbeasty I love my independent shoe shop, proper staff, not surly teenagers. Poor you.

Braxton hicks make your whole uterus hard, if it's only hard in one spot it may be your baby sticking out. My little one has a good wriggle first thing in the morning and a little head or bum .sticks out on one side.

PurplePidjmicGymnastics · 04/08/2012 17:28

Just home from fabulous Latvia, absolutely stunning place I really hope i get to go back one day not for work! I'm completely exhausted, not least from being Baby Spice on stage at midnight last night...

Hope all's well with everyone, sorry i don't have the energy to read the thread (s)

SpottyTeacakes · 04/08/2012 17:29

Welcome back pidj! Take away and early night for you Grin

EggsMichelle · 04/08/2012 17:45

Welcome back Pidj, making me excited for my holiday! Kate I have to have one of those sleep suits, I love batman, and we already have a batman tshirt for when he is a bit bigger!

I've had my inlaws visit today, had a lovely BBQ and a trip to the park with their children, and the rain held off until we were outside the front door which was amazing. DH has had to go back to bed, the noisy neighbour and charging around the park have exhausted him, the dog is flat out too.

EggsMichelle · 04/08/2012 18:04

Oh and in my confusion I shouted babies name at the cat, i blame my inlaws as they refer to him with his real name, where as I'm still calling him Shrimpy!!!!

Barbeasty · 04/08/2012 18:29

We're going to Bath tomorrow to try a new independent. I refuse to go to Clarks for DD. She hates having her feet measured, and when we went in there a couple of weeks ago for slippers they forced her foot into to machine, whilst she screamed, and then said it looks like a 6, do you think that's about right.

Ummm, you're supposed to be the professional, you tell me! Our old shop would take all the time needed and do things like measure teddy's paws first until DD was ready. I guess that's why they've gone.

I'm finding I get full really quickly now. I didn't have this problem last time, but I wasn't hungry at all for dinner last night (we went out for lunch and had starter then couldn't quite finish the main and had to forgo the pudding which I'd already chosen)

But I bet when I'm back to work on Tuesday I'll be ravenous all day. I always eat more when I'm bored.

4mrs- no of children sounds right then. My SIL was initially told she had to have no 6 in hospital, despite no problems with the first 5, but went on to have a problem free homebirth.

I know an NCT teacher who also works as an HCA at our local MLU who took a call (at the MLU) from someone who was 40ish and had to tell her she couldn't give birth there, but really wanted to put her NCT hat on and tell her to just demand it because they would give in.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/08/2012 19:14

Slightly worried about these braxton hicks, they've been on/off all day and now I have backache too :( its irrational to suspect prem labour isn't it?!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/08/2012 19:16

Take some paracetamol and go for a walk. Real labour will progress but BH should ease Smile

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/08/2012 19:18

Thanks spotty I never panic but just can't help it right now Confused

SpottyTeacakes · 04/08/2012 19:19

All rational/logical thinking seems to go out the window when pregnant. I phoned labour ward with BH with dd Blush

4MrsCoyle5 · 04/08/2012 19:28

Kate I still haven't been told by MW or consultant why suddenly high risk applies to me, but the advice here seems sound (thank you ladies) in that it's due to having 3+ babies. I'm also due for induction at 38 weeks (all my babies were induced) so maybe they just feel I need extra care - but I was told that I'll be scanned at 26, 30 and 34 weeks on top of "normal scans" which I'm not complaining about!!
barbeasty and olliebob I think maybe you're both right - my BMI is only 26.3, I have zero health issues (except for prolasped discs in back) and have naturally low blood pressure!! I always thought the age for risk for 40+ - so very determined to get more answers (have consultant on Tuesday so will let you all know what she says).
Stacey try to drink around 500ml+ of water as BH can feel horrendous if you're even slightly dehydrated (you may not think you are). Your back ache may be caused by the stress of worrying if it's labour, but I think most of all, ANY concern - go to the labour ward (at the very least they will put your mind at ease and help you cope - at the worst you'll be in the safest place). If you can't get there - then call them xxx

Cookiesandcream06 · 04/08/2012 19:37

Hope you had a lovely time pidj welcome back Smile
stacey yeh do take some paracetamol and try not to worry (easier said I know I know) if it does get worse or really doesn't improve then do phone up for your peace of mind.
Well as it's DDs birthday Monday and she is with her Dad tomorrow, went on a spontaneous family trip to Peppa Pig World today. She had a great great day, but I Am absolutely SHATTERED, my pelvis hurts my back aches. I've just ordered a curry for one! Blush and then I am retiring to bed. Zzzzz

SpottyTeacakes · 04/08/2012 19:45

Ooo Cookies we want to take dd but thought it best to go after the summer holidays? Did you go on the rides? I assume they're pretty gentle!

PurplePidjin · 04/08/2012 20:19

Peppa Pig World is near me - watch out for the Paultons Garden Centre on the old Romsey road (sorry, don't know road names) for awesome coffee and cake :o

Indigestion and swollen ankles here, not sure if that's humidity/blue-arsed-flyness or something more Confused should i call the mw on Monday? Other than that I'm absolutely fine, just a bit breathless on exertion - which i think is totally normal considering how hard our bodies are working!!

I think I'll be a lot less worried the further past 24 weeks i get. 6 days to that particular milestone...

SpottyTeacakes · 04/08/2012 20:20

My ankles are huge by the end of each day. Worse if it's hot and/or have been doing lots of walking.

Cookiesandcream06 · 04/08/2012 20:56

Ha I did indeed spotty .. I went on lots.. The pregnancy police would be very angry if they knew! There were signs but used my own judgement. Was so much fun though. It wasn't horrendously busy, the rest of Paulton's we got on stuff straight away Grin
Me too pidj only takes about 20 min so even escaped car sickness (DD has a v weak stomach for car journeys)
I feel so full still I can't go to bed Sad I couldn't even eat as much as I normally would.. Apparently my stomach has shrunk?!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/08/2012 21:30

Yuck to Fybogel, I hope it works!

PurplePidjin · 04/08/2012 21:33

Cookies, we need to do a grockle thing in Lyndhurst then! Or mooching round Mothercare etc in Southampton. You can't be much more than an hour from me :o

CODwidow · 04/08/2012 22:09

stacey I have had exactly the same all afternoon. Been at a BBQ/Olympics party so on my feet all day but I am now led in bed with the most horrendous aching bump and braxton hicks if I didnt know better (had the same with ds4) I'd think I was in labour right now. If your worried ring labour ward but try a bath and lie down first. Hope it eases for you soon.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/08/2012 22:51

Thanks for the advice I got DH home to put the kids to bed and he brought a mate with him so I took paracetamol got them to order me Chinese and had a giggle. It appears to have eased slightly so I really shouldn't panic. At least my backs not aching now even if the BH keep going!

As an aside does anyone know when the hospital count a baby as viable? I read earlier somebody being sent away from hosp when she may have been in early labour because even if she had baby it wasn't 'viable' I'm just trying to work out of that would be 20 or 24 weeks or what? Although it doesn't really matter if the worst happened there's no way I'd let them send me home!!

Peppa pig world sounds great XH said he'd take the kids during their week with him but didn't so I'll end up taking them at some point to make up for it along with the cinema trip to see ice age 4 and the trip to legoland that also didn't materialise during their visit

I went on the vampire ride when I was pg with dd I asked if the sign was because of force etc or the safety harness and they said the harness so I just made sure it was tight enough for me not to be being flung around etc! Those signs are for insurance purposes min most cases tbh

cherrypiew3 · 05/08/2012 00:11

Kate congratulations on the scan.

Purple Glad you enjoyed Latvia.

4Mrs I am classed has high risk so have loads of scribble over my notes from midwife and consultant, but when I went for my booking in I noticed the mw highlighted that I was on my 4th dc and that I am 30. When I asked her about this she said it was not really to do with my age but the number of children I have had.

No braxton hicks here but I have noticed that baby does very little moving during the day and then from about 11pm onwards the party starts. I just know that we are going to get very little sleep once she arrives.

Hope everyone is feeling well.
