Hello - finally joining this thread after lurking forever. I'm 40, and after an early MC last year, thought I would never get another BFP. It finally happened, after a nice holiday, while the GP was doing busy referring us for infertility investigations...

I've been nesting this week too, and have cleared out my wardrobe, and done numerous loads of (unecessary) washing. I thought this would only happen in about December.

I've also been spending ages researching cloth nappies and am now very confused!

Oh, godzookey, I saw a post somewhere else (can't remember where - pregnancy brain?!!) about the Asda baby event, and was advised to join their baby club to get a voucher for their newborn starter pack, and then use the vouchers in the pack to get another starter pack and some more huggies wipes. Someone had figured out it was the best way to take advantage of their offer!

I had a second 20 week scan today. Got a good look at the heart and it looks ok. I am having a GIRL! So shocked, was sure it would be another boy!

pixel I use cloth nappies if you have any questions.

Hello again, been on holiday so not much going on. I finally have my second Midwife appointment on Saturday. Next scan is on 19th.

Also feeling rather excited as I've just heard that one of my friend's labour started earlier this morning :-), pretty much bang on time from recollection of her EDD.

Im like that with due dates everyone wants to know when you are due but we just say end of december beginning of January that shuts them up it's not like we are under enough pressure already x

Nesting has begun but so scared to hope that everything will be ok been putting off actual buying versus looking

Congratulations Chutes, that's lovely news. I always wanted a big brother (am the eldest) and was so pleased to have had a boy then girl. J protects/looks out for his two sisters and brother and its very sweet to see.

Lovely news with all the scans. I have my fourth (!) next Wednesday, and then we're going to the farm/zoo for my birthday . Make the most of it before I have to take a child along with me

Had my 20 week scan today. I'm having a girl!

To be honest I'm slightly disappointed (and I wouldn't admit this in RL) as I only plan to have 2 children and was secretly thinking a boy would be nice. However I know this feeling will go and I'm glad I have time to plan now for a lovely family of two girls. DH doesn't know the gender - he doesn't like to find out until the birth He didn't find out last time either, and I did. I managed to keep it from him - hoping it won't slip this time, but if it does, well he'll just have to live with it!

April - DH and I are both off on our own to Florida end of this month!
However, it is for work, but I am sure we will manage to skive, eh eh.
I do not look forward to leaving DD for a week with ILs (never left her more than 2 or 3 days with anyone else than DH, and even with him, max 10 days for work)

For stress at airport (and anywhere else) back remedy drops!

MamaM was there not some stats a year or two ago which was saying that families with 2 girls were the "happiest" (whatever that means).
I am looking fwd to my girl nb2, but DH is dreading being grossly outnumbered by bossy females....

Very at all of you going off on holidays, but i hope you all have a lovely time.

We've just accepted an offer on our flat, so now the hunt is on to find a house. Its a weekend of house viewing for me. I can never see us agreeing on a place and we need to do it quickly as i'd really Like to have moved before the birth.

I also have a midwife appointment today, so i'm looking forward to hearing our little one's heartbeat later.

We are just back of hols - to sunny somerset where the highlight was a trip to Longleat. Back into the swing of things today - swimming class with DS at 10.30 and food shopping this afternoon.

I'm starting to feel quite uncomfortable in the evenings, heavy, sluggish digestion, smaller appetite. Definitely a sign of things to come over the next few months.

I survived the flight! And we have wifi in our room here.

mamam I have a brother and a sister and while I love them both equally there is something magical about having a sister.

Great news about the scans everyone!

As prickly said very about the holidays. We have a flying visit back to Ireland next week so hopefull the flight will be grand and not too difficult.

mrsbugsy - good to hear the flight went ok.

prickly - that is excited I love looking at houses.

Marasme, I remember reading that survey too it also said if you go on to have more than 2 girls the family dynamics change for the worse! The families I know with 2 girls do seem to be happy and harmonious.

MrsBugsyWugsy, I also have a brother and a sister and I'm much closer to my sister. There IS something special about sisterly relationships.

Prickly as we live in a 2-bedroom terraced house, we're also considering moving and we're viewing a house tonight. It's on the same road as where we live (almost opposite us) but quite a bit bigger than ours - I'm really excited about it as I love this location and it's further away from the road so a lot less or zero traffic noise - but I don't want to get my hopes up too much because DH and I so far haven't been able to agree on houses.

MamaM I read that too, about family dynamics changing for the worst at DC3 after two girls. This is DH's argument to stop at 2... I am not sure yet I do feel this way. Mind you, after DD1's birth, I was put off pregnancy until, well, now....

I would have loved a sister, but I got an annoying little brother instead.

MamaM I'm excited about having two DDs and my preference was for another girl (nice for DD1 to have a little sister so close in age and for me to have lots of pink and princessy things about :) )....but then I've always assumed I would have a little boy at some point too....and it's starting to dawn on me that if we go for a third at some point that may not be a boy either!

MamaM at least when they are teenagers you won't be fighting an up hill battle against Sky Sports on the TV on a constant loop. I have two brothers and no sisters and recall never getting a look in on the TV!
