Hello - finally joining this thread after lurking forever. I'm 40, and after an early MC last year, thought I would never get another BFP. It finally happened, after a nice holiday, while the GP was doing busy referring us for infertility investigations...

Hey all from my hot tub on holiday in the Somerset dusk

More good scan news coming in I see, brilliant news everybody! Hello Pixel, nice to see a new face. I was sick all the way through my first pregnancy, it faded in this though. Crap isn't it?

The reason some pushchairs are 4 months in the waiting is usually down to waiting lists as they are so popular. Check out some smaller independent places, you might find it's quicker or they have stock anyway and it's always great to support the little man.

I was in quite a lot of pain this morning but my friend brought in a bump support band to work and it's made such a difference already. It basically pulls your pelvis back in while your wearing it. I can walk so much easier tonight and the pain is reasonable now!

Great news on the scans!

I asked in John Lewis about when I needed to order my pram and they said they would probably have it in their warehouse on the other side of the city or might take a week/10 days if it was coming from the distribution centre. They said it was only if I wanted an unusual/specific colour way that it would take longer.

Happy - support belt sounds good - my sciatica has been playing up, and my bump hurts when I walk for too long (yet again, all was good last time round - I must be getting old...)

Can anyone link to a good support belt?
Not quite sure I want to go for ebay for that kind of thing...

I'll ask my friend where she got hers. I'm like a different person tonight... I'm not limping particularly when I walk now and I can get off the sofa without doubling up in pain. I think it'll be a day by day process though to make sure I don't overdo it.

My form class asked me today if I was pregnant so thankfully it's now out in the open with the kids!! It's been doing my head in that I've had to carry on like normal until something was said. Have also had to swap my form room with someone else as it was at the top of the school and all the stairs and walking were causing a lot of pain. Thank goodness for sympathetic employers...

Looks like the Asda black leggings are sold out (online anyway). I think they still have some navy ones left. They did sound like a good bargain!

Marasme - it's not a support belt as such, but I was given a "hippsy PRE" which is an incredibly comfy and supportive 'bump band' which has made all the difference to me. I don't want to take mine off!
It doesn't look too bad either, so it's meant I can wear several favourite things that were getting too small, by hiding the undone buttons beneath the band! They're available on www.hippsy.co.uk

I got my bump band from Mothercare. Used it last time and just started wearing it again. Seems to do the trick :)

So these are supportive bump bands as opposed to the 'cover up' type ones (that are a bit like a boob tube)?

Scan today and very happy. My concerns about no bump are literally just mummy worries. Baby is all good and fine in there.

Oh and it's a girl, as I had been telling everyone anyway (phew!)

They are supportive bump bands. They help support the weight of the bump and keep your pelvis in place.

Though I hate to say my due date out loud. It's due in january to anyone who asks. Maybe even February!

I know that feeling, bealos. I was due with DS Jan 17th. One of my friends texted me that day, "GOOD LUCK TODAY!!!"

My reply was something along the lines of, "It's an estimated due date, not a fucking expiry date - IT'S NOT HAPPENING."

I was a tad annoyed. He didn't turn up until 31/1. That was even more galling. I used to update facebook with terse, "I'm still pregnant, don't ask," statuses.

Has anyone else started nesting? I've started to get things in order - it's driving DH mad. To be fair, though, I'm wanting to sell some of the crap we have lying about so we have a bit extra cash to put toward DS's new room. My smugness at not having to buy DD anything was somewhat offset when I realised I needed to kit out a room for a toddler instead.

Oh yes I'm nesting big time and my DH is pleased as I've been a right hoarder up til now. Four bin bags full of clothes went to the charity shop the other day. And whilst DD sleeps I am currently tidying (in between updates and internet browsing obv!)

My Medela nipple things arrived today - not quite as exciting as my bednest but hopeful they will work. It says to start using from week 32 - won't it make milk come early?

No idea re: milk coming in early, birdies - may make you leak colostrum? Actual milk production doesn't get kicked off until the placenta is no longer in situ. If I can, I plan on harvesting some colostrum to take to hospital with me anyway in case DD needs it to stabilise blood sugar.

Have been nesting like a nutter for the past few weeks. Lots more still to do before I am too huge to move!

I've just eaten a big chocolate muffin and I had a twirl as well this morning. Feel a bit guilty . Anyone else getting through a fair bit of chocolate and cake?

I'm nesting too! So far we've e-bayed an exercise bike and loads of bits and pieces and yesterday sold the sofabed in out back room so now the room is looking bigger and ready to be a nursery. A NURSERY, eeek!

DH e-mailed me today to say he had been spending the morning saying to himself "We're having a daughter" and it's all feeling a bit more real now...

Still waiting for the little miss to kick harder so I feel her through the anterior placenta. At the moment still mainly just have my crazy pulsing feeling down there...

Hi all, had scan and all fine so feel great! Am going to buy things this weekend and v excited. Still cannot believe I have a baby inside me, it's amazing the scan shows so much!

Lovely to hear everyone's scan news and thanks Bunty for updating list.

So I had to fly to Amsterdam for a meeting yesterday - all fine but knackered today and won't be doing any more of those trips for work, on the flight back, the baby was going mad kicking away - nothing much today, me thinks he either liked the flying/noise of the plane or totally hated it!

I hauled my ass to Asda on Saturday to take advantage of their baby event and didnt' really see anything - all the deals on the nappies didn't seem to be for newborns & £3 for a pack of muslins didn't seem that cheap given that their just squares of material - can't i just tear up an old bed sheet and make do

Am hoping long leadtimes for travel systems are a fallacy, i' m holding out to buy the one i want (Uppababy) until the Baby Show in Earls Court as they're exhibiting there and hope to get a good discount!

Also loving the gorgeous names you are all choosing. I have a cousin called Florence and she is beautiful and my goddaughter is a Nancy.
