Hello - finally joining this thread after lurking forever. I'm 40, and after an early MC last year, thought I would never get another BFP. It finally happened, after a nice holiday, while the GP was doing busy referring us for infertility investigations...

happyhow glad to hear your scan went well

our NHS 20 week scan isn't till september 13th by which point I will be 23 weeks so we had a private scan on August 9th to find out sex as we were impatient!! x

I am delurking to say hello to all of you fellow January ladies!

Mini-Badger is due 21 January. Some of you will have your little ones on my birthday on the 23rd! I am hoping not to be in labour then... Suddenly realised that my Mum (who died when I was young) would therefore have been going through everything I am now at pretty much the same time 35 years ago - bit of a freaky thought, but comforting somehow...

I am following the babynest/moses basket/buggy comments with interest, keep them coming!

We had scan today and it was amazing to see our gorgeous baby again and looking so much bigger than at 12 week one. All healthy which was a huge relief. We had decided not to find out sex, though must admit I did waver a bit when the sonographer said they had had a little look between legs! Anyway, stuck to my guns so haven't got a clue what we are having. Decided baby is going to be a gymnast though as had its long legs up by its head most of the time!!! DH and I have both have short legs too! Amazing to see baby kicking away but still not being able to feel anything. Probably too much fat due to all those big pasta meals I ate in first trimester! Hope I feel it soon. My boobs have also gone up another cup size as had another bra fitting today. I am now a 34G. Used to be a D cup. DH is very impressed!!!

Great news in the scans.

I have been having a tough few days too. Spent most of the weekend in tears for no apparent reason....oh the joy.

Why are we all crying?! :(

I'm the opposite, I'm irrationally delirious with happiness at everything Usually I'm quite a moody cow. I'm sure I'll crash eventually.

We had our scan today, all was great, it was lovely to see our LO again. It looks so much more in proportion now, the legs are really long. I could see it punching at my innards. My placenta has moved from the front to the side, which explains why I'm feeling so much.

After the scan we went off to the beach DP had a swim, but I don't have a cozzie that would be decent, must get a maternity one.

Spoke to my mum tonight and was describing what I thought might have been the baby kicking and she reckons it was.. Therefore, I've been feeling the baby since last week without fully realising! Damn being a first-timer at this!!!!!

l3mma I squeezed into my old cossie but it was a tight fit. Also, I made the terrible mistake of walking home in a too tight, damp cossie, which resulted in agonisingly sore nipples I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and will definitely buy a new one before then.

newbie yes to the headaches and to the random pains. I think the headaches could be down to too much sun and mild dehydration. I'm 17 weeks and 4 days and haven't felt any movement yet either, no one has mentioned where my placenta is so I assume it's in the normal place...wherever that is!

We didn't find out either, its too much fun trying to guess. I think for number 2 we'll find out.

Hi everyone! I'm expecting DC3 EDD 6 jan 2013 - had 20 week scan yesterday and all looked fine.

Was lovely to see the little one! Have been trying to figure out if they look like DD or DS as didn't find out the sex.
Have been a bit of an emotional wreck, crying with happiness, sadness, frustration, no reason and have been searching out maternity clothes in the shop with no luck which would be ok if any of my coats fitted me - bloody weather - I shouldn't even need a coat now!

Am also a spotty, greasy mess - so much for the 'glow' .
All in all I have been feeling pretty well though, so can't really complain.

Congratulations to everybody on this thread and hope you are all feeling ok. :)

ugh.... 4 and a half hrs... the nerves are building now. i know its in there i can feel it moving sometimes but what if all the bits and pieces arent working properly??! aaaarrrrggghhhh.

Good luck Lora I was exactly the same, terrified of finding a problem on the scan. I spent the first 10 minutes of the scan panicking inside as the sonographer worked her way down the body to each bit and pronounced it fine. Once that was out of the way I relaxed a lot.

Today my bladder appears to have shrunk again. Welcome back to the frequent peeing and feeling fit to burst all the time again

thanks mrsbugsywugsy - I live in Scotland so promise it is not too much sun, hee hee! I have upped the amount of water I am drinking to see if that will help. Am very busy with work and not sleeping that well so that is probably not helping either. Hopefully the headaches will pass soon - hope everyone else is well!

Cannot wait for my 20 week scan - 2 weeks seems ages away :(

Lora - good luck with yours! I shouted at my husband because he said he wanted a girl and I didnt want our 'bump' to feel sad incase said bump is a boy haha

I THINK I have felt movements but like many others on here this is my first so not really sure what I should expect to feel.....

Arrghh so impatient! Also it never occurred to me that the sonographers could get the sex wrong at this stage as they say its not 100% certain.. has anyone had that experience??

Randomly, I hate having an anterior placenta. Baby keeps freaking me out by obviously swimming to where I can't feel her - had a quiet night from 6 onwards until late this morning - queue panicked text to midwife as not even cold water was shifting her.

She is now lazily poking me at random intervals. I wish I could stop stressing - it's exhausting. I also wish I had pot loads of money so I could have a scan every day and make sure everything is ok! Or, a see through belly ...

On a roll; pregnancy/new mum wish list:

See through tum to make sure baby is ok
Gauge on boobs so we know how much milk is in there
Gauge on baby so we know they're full

Oh, pip and complicated also have their scans today - good luck!

My bladder shrank almost from day 1 pascha! I'm up loads in the night!

Bunty I love the list! Can I add - nice pointy nippley bits for easy feeding?! (by the way when I had anterior placenta I was just the same - but at least thats usually a logical reason for lack of movements. Posterior one and no movements must be more scary!)

How on earth can anyone go off chocolate?! Oh my word, I'm addicted. Mmm could do with a nice fat dairy milk now.....

We did find out, and its a boy. So excited that ds1 will have a brother. We didn't find out with him so I have experienced the surprise this time I experience being able to plan.

Friends of mine got the sonographer to write it down and put it in an envelope so they find out later if they wanted to. At the moment we are still planning on keeping it a surprise.

Although we are dreadful at secrets...we buckled to pressure and told our best friends our baby names on Friday night. At least they said they thought they were lovely

Congrats, pmgkt! How lovely, another beautiful boy! DS1 will be thrilled I'm sure!
