Hi everyone!

I think I did this correctly! Eeeek! Probably not Blush I think we still have a few messages to go on the old one, so it's here for when we're ready :)

Weejo might not be a bad idea to enhance that pregnant glow :o

Spotty I have three brothers and DP has two... I can't wait for a wedding picture with all the siblings :o one day in the future when we actually get engaged and then married Hmm

But as for feeding in front of them... you have a point though.

littlemissbroody26 · 18/07/2012 10:32

weejo i use asda setchmark oil and it works great so far, i have a few stretchmarks from weight gain/loss previously but no new ones yet (alltho im not even half way yet i may well have loads by 40 weeks!)

bf in public is really normal here, i have never seen a baby being given a bottle and i dont often see ladies using things to cover the baby. I feel a bit shy as my boobs are really stupidly big even pre pregnancy so the babies head wont hide much of them.. but i guess i will just so as the swedes do, they are very relaxed about nudity here, my OH has 9 nephews (closer to my age than his they are in their late teans early-mid 20's) one of their dads was showing my the summer pics which included some sauna and jumping in a cold lake pics and they were all compleatly naked my bil and my OH's nephews i was ShockShock but to them its normal!

I have a friend who bf both her boys ds1 until she was pg with ds2 and he self weaned 3yo, ds2 until he was about 3. We used to go to toddler groups and she used to just pull them out whenever the boys wanted feeding. I was quite Shock but got used to it, not sure I'll ever be that confident tbh but I really wanna bf this time.

Dd couldn't latch, not even on a bottle she would do an almost perfect cats bum mouth while sucking, no lovely splayed lips for her. So obv bf her wouldn't work as she'd literally just be sucking the end of my nipple, (which she did on and off for 2 days and I cried a lot, do did she tbh) with ds he loved it but the doctors etc wouldn't believe me that he wasn't eating enough as I hadn't bf before I didn't know what I was talking about Hmm so I put him on bottles and he would take. 1 oz of formula and then sleep for 5 hrs. So they agreed summit was wrong, after about 4 days of this. They gave me 2 options, 1. They could admit him and put him on a drip as an interim measure. Or 2. I could take my beautiful2 2 week old baby home but wake him every hour and myself obv to feed him an oz, then gradually build up the amount of formula and decrease the amount of feeds per day. I took the 2nd option, was very sleep deprived, got his feeds up eventually but as it had taken 3-4 weeks he would never bf again Sad

So this time I am determined so much so that when I went to have a boob job and the consultant wouldn't do it without an uplift I refused to go through with it then as it may have damaged the milk ducts, I shall be having my boob job after I have finished bf this baby

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/07/2012 10:34

Sorry mammoth post Blush

littlemissbroody26 · 18/07/2012 10:40

stacey what a challenge you had with feeding, esecially getting up every hour you deserve a medal!

good luck with bf this time, and what a treat a boob job will be! I can't beleve how much my boobs have changed allready!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2012 11:32

So my friend was meant to be coming round today and she just hasn't turned up.... Angry

ellliebelle · 18/07/2012 11:34

He I cant remember who's dh it was but good on you for not clearing his mess up :) i disnt manage to bf dd1 but did feed dd2 until she was about 8months i was quite nervous about the thought of bf in public but once it came to it it didnt really botherme.

Heard heartbeat which was lovely and reassuring had dd2 with,i had forgotten to take a sample so had to go to the toilet while we were there now dd wont stop talking about me 'weeing in a pot' :)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/07/2012 12:19

Oh spotty how rude!!

elliebellie glad the heartbeat was ok!! Everytime dd had an appointment at hospital she had to do a sample and they give kids the same pots as us, cue me crouching on a toilet floor holding a pot between her legs. Her aim leaves a lot to be desired!! Hopefully dd2 will forget your weeing in a pot and not bring it up in public Blush

Bubbless · 18/07/2012 12:34

nutella- i wish my dp would sit to pee, he gets it bloody everywhere- and now i make him clean the toilet because i dont pee all over the place

weejo- im going to start slathering with bio-oil soon, but ive had stretch marks for years so i dont know what good it will do me!

littlemiss- im in the same boat as you, ive got massive rather large boobs.. im almost hoping my baby has a massive head to cover it!

ellie i didnt know i had to take a sample and i looked at my mw like she was crazy when she suggested i should have.. whoops! am i meant to bring a sample to every mw appt?!

stacey- when my mum was in hospital i had to help her do the 'pot pee' like you did with your daughter, ask them for a sick bowl and get her to pee into that, its soooo much easier then just pour some into the pot Wink

littlemissbroody26 · 18/07/2012 12:42

maybe if we buy the babies really wide brimmed sunhats we can hide our boobs a little better bubbles ;)

Equimum · 18/07/2012 12:42

Sorry so many people are struggling to sleep!

I don't think I'll be able to openly BF in public, but hope in time I'll be okay with a shawl/ scarf etc. was just annoyed that my mum doesn't want me feeding in her living room when it's usually only her there!

I liked the comment (sorry, can't remember who) about telling her to go and eat in another room Grin

Bubbless · 18/07/2012 12:50

littlemiss- i may well have to! ive already told dp that i want a boob job when ive finished having children, im only 20 and they are already so low because they are so heavy.. i dont want to think about what they will be like after having a child hanging off of them!

littlemissbroody26 · 18/07/2012 12:52

i loved my bib boobs till i got pregnant and then in the 1st tri they hurt so so much it would take me 20 mins to take my bra of.. now they are not looking the best and i havnt even given birth yet! all worth it for a lovely baby ofcourse, I do envy my friends who have little pretty boobs and their baby covers most of them!

WeeJo08 · 18/07/2012 12:58

LittleMiss Thanks for the tip on the Asda stretchmark oil - I popped out to get some a few minutes ago (there's an ASDA by my work) It's soooo much cheaper than Bio Oil!

HoneyMum I would like the link for the pillow please if you wouldn't mind? Thank you :)

weejo its great with my doppler too, so if you use one you just use that instead of the pricy gell :)

pmgkt · 18/07/2012 13:01

Just back from 16w check. All fine and heard the heart beat. Ds1 was saying baby, it is so sweet.

Bubbless · 18/07/2012 13:07

littlemis- ive just taken to not wearing a bra.... they dont hurt nearly as much!!

pmgkt- glad all was okay!!

FriendofDorothy · 18/07/2012 13:17

Probably not wearing a bra isn't helping through. If they are heavy then that can't be comfy either?

Bubbless · 18/07/2012 13:31

friend- nothing is comfy! wearing a bra probably isnt helping with how low they are, but if i wear a bra they are in agony.. lose / lose situation :/

HoneyMum21 · 18/07/2012 13:41

www.bounty.com/bountyoffers/flash-sale-170712-pillows is the link for the pillow WeeJo - you have to join the bounty group of you haven't already but it's free to do :)

A good friend had a dd a year ago and has bf in front of me, she's also a first time mum and manages discreet bfing so i figure it can't be that hard?

I think I'll skip the mat pillow and ask for a bf one for Christmas from someone!

kate2boysandabump · 18/07/2012 14:05

Spotty I haven't seen the surface of my DH's bedside table in quite some time. I refuse to clean it, surely it's not too much to ask to keep the mess tidy in an area roughly 45cm square Hmm

Ellie Glad you heard the heartbeat Smile

Bubbless As a pregnant woman either have wee already in a pot or be ready to give a sample at the drop of a hat Grin All HCP's want to test your wee.

I didn't feed ds1 out and about much, but with ds2 life had to go on for ds1 so he was fed pretty much everywhere. I used to have lovely chats with the old ladies in town while I was feeding, they used to tell me all about feeding their own babies. My brother wasn't that keen on watching me feed and would develop an intense interest in something else in the room.

The midwife came today, she filled in all the extra bits in my notes and listened for the baby's heartbeat again, so lovely to hear it. She thinks I have an anterior placenta, as she got a lot of placenta whooshing before she found the heartbeat. Only 2 more weeks to find out if she's right. She also told me when I'll see her; 21, 26, 30, 34, 36, 38, 40 and 41 weeks, although hopefully not the last one Grin I also have to have a gestational diabetes test because I have a history of big babies, more blood tests!!

ellliebelle · 18/07/2012 14:16

Just ordered my doppler hope it doesnt take too long to arrive :)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/07/2012 14:32

Bubbless try an ahhh bra (or similar) search for them on eBay, no wires, stretchy etc

They are not the most supportive but better than nothing and soooooooo comfy!
