Hi everyone!

I think I did this correctly! Eeeek! Probably not Blush I think we still have a few messages to go on the old one, so it's here for when we're ready :)

honey I am joining you and stacks on the 25th. I thinking is about 2ish. So lots of but don't worry yourself.
I already know she's a girlie in there but I'm not going to tell them we know to see if they say the same Grin

kate2boysandabump · 17/07/2012 21:02

Seymore your scan picture is so clear! It looks like a lovely little baby.

Ispy I have quite the opposite problem with ds1, he's really far down the charts for his weight, 7th centile at one point. He just has a lot of energy and burns everything off. He's perfectly healthy and I'm sure yours is too.

I didn't do NCT with either of mine, I did the NHS ones and they were pretty good. I'm not doing either this time. Let's hope that I remember what to do Confused

The midwife gave me details of antenatal and aquanatal classes with my booking in stuff. There were also details of antenatal exercise on a noticeboard when I had my scan, it might be worth looking in those places.

I'm still waiting for my pillow to arrive. I got one on ebay before I went on holiday and I'm still waiting for it to arrive Angry

HoneyMum21 · 17/07/2012 21:06

Yay Cookies another scan buddy. :) good plan not telling them and seeing if they say the same! We were thinking of using that tactic too!

Thanks all for reassurances about the medication. :)

HoneyMum21 · 17/07/2012 21:21

Question- is a maternity pillow the same as a nursing pillow? Or can it be used similarly. Until tomorrow on bounty they have an offer on them for 12.95. Let me know if anyone wants the link.

I can't remember who said they were having trouble sleeping as they were rolling on their stomach... Was that because it's uncomfortable or because you're worried about baby? I always sleep on my stomach and my MW said as long as I'm comfortable then it's perfectly safe for the baby and only to stop when if gets uncomfortable. Hope that helps.

MyDaydream · 17/07/2012 23:25

It was me having trouble sleeping, it was just uncomfortable after about 5 minutes I felt like I was sleeping on a rock.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2012 07:03

Asleep at 11:30, woken at 12, 2, 4 and finally six by my lovely dd Hmm

acjfluff · 18/07/2012 07:10

Woke at 4 with a random coughing fit.
Baby didn't like it at all and was kicking like crazy Smile

Guess I won't be smiling about it when he's bigger but loved it!

Cookiesandcream06 · 18/07/2012 07:47

honey I think you can get different shape maternity ones, I've just got a long straight one because it was the cheapest. In all fairness it's just like using a load of extra pillows- but I do love it.
Nursing ones tend to be more at a right angle and are for propping up bubba when feeding, but again just like using extra pillows IMO.
That sounds like a bargain, I wouldn't want to pay a lot but mine really does help me.
So sorry to hear about those having a bad nights sleep, nothing worse. I always think its natures way for pre paring you for sleepless nights with a newborn (again, DD only just sleeps through now at nearly 3)

Equimum · 18/07/2012 07:48

Wow, this thread iss fast moving.

spotty and knotty glad to hear I'm not the only one with what feels like impossibly long wait for scan!

When I told my mum that we had booked NCT last night, she joyfully told me how she went along when Ashe wass expecting my brother, saw all these 'ridiculous women' panting in a classroom and rapidly left. Erm, yeah, thanks mum! Mind you, not as good as her comment on breast feeding 'do you know what, I went into the coffee shop and there was this woman with her t**s out feeding. It's disgusting. We don't all need to see'. Apparently I can use the bedroom when I go to visit, if I 'insist' on breast feeding! Angry

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2012 07:54

Oh Equimum I know people like that, tell her you will happily go upstairs to feed the baby if she goes upstairs when she is eating because it's disgusting and you don't want to see it.

I have a V pillow it's good whilst pregnant as it supports the bump and goes between my legs to stop my hips hurting at the same time, and obviously will be good for feeding afterwards. (I also use it to prop myself up when I have a cold/cough Wink )

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/07/2012 08:03

I have the long pregnancy pillow too, it's great, and if you fold it in half it can be the same as a v feeding pillow/ support for when baby's born.

Sorry for those having trouble sleeping. I woke at 2 but managed to get back to sleep then woke at 4 and couldn't sleep so browsed mn tried really hard until 5.30 when I finally dropped off.

TMI ALERT does anybody else have the cough runs cough ? I've had them for the past 2 days and I'm pretty sure it's nothing I've eaten as DH has had the same and hes got the weakest stomach known to man. Could this just be pregnancy related?

PurplePidjin · 18/07/2012 08:04

Equimum, I'm hoping to delight my childless aunt and uncle by clamping baby on with one hand and shovelling Christmas dinner in with the other :o

My mum supports bf, but i think it'll take her a while to get used to the idea of me sitting in m+s cafe feeding PidjChick and scoffing cake at the same time

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2012 08:10

Stacey I go from one to the other!

FriendofDorothy · 18/07/2012 08:25

I have one of those Dream Geni pillows. I used it for the first time last night becase my hips have been so sore and it has really helped.

Barbeasty · 18/07/2012 08:48

Equimum- I suspect the classes have moved on since her day, but a similar scene in Friends is why DH absolutely refuses to go to any.

The only person who really has a problem with my breastfeeding has been by brother, but we established it wasn't a problem with feeding per se, just that he didn't want to risk seeing a flash of his big sister's nipples. I see that as fair enough (and just fed very carefully around him!)

Purple- it's amazing how quickly you learn to feed with one hand and eat with the other. Mainly through necessity! I've never mastered feeding and buttering toast though.

PurplePidjin · 18/07/2012 09:02

Last time i was out with a bfing friend i cut her dinner up for her so we could carry on. Hoping someone will do the same for me :o

I sleep on my side anyway, is a special pillow worth bothering with on a limited nonexistent budget?

MyDaydream · 18/07/2012 09:10

It's all down to you really whether you think you need one. I was struggling to sleep and having bad back pain that was affecting my day which have both improved so was worth it for me. If I was getting good nights sleep I'd probably leave it. I imagine a few well placed pillows would do the same job if you have spared laying around.
I tried really hard to think of a reason not to go to work today but my mind drew a blank. I'm exhausted, DP kept talking to me when I was trying to sleep then I was up 5 or 6 times in the night too. Didn't think that was good enough though.

CODwidow · 18/07/2012 09:28

I had a feeding pillow for my last ds and will definately be getting another it was fantastic and really helped when feeding in the early days.

ellliebelle · 18/07/2012 09:35

Sorry to hear some of you arent sleeping too well :( i hadnt been then after listening to my hypnobirthing cd the last two night still feel like ive had restless nights but have felt so refreshed in the morning its really quite strange.

I have my 16 week appointment in about 30 mins :) cant wait to hear the heart beat and have a bit of reasurrance as still mot feeling deffinate movements

Bubbless · 18/07/2012 09:38

stacey- i had the runs for the first.. forever, maybe 10 weeks?! then i had constiation... i think its pregnancy related!

pidjin- sounds like an amazing idea.. me and babybubbless might have all feeding times in m and s!!

i was wide awake at 6.30 this morning... for no real reason! then went back to sleep.. then men started scaffolding the flats above us about 1 min an hour after i got back to sleep! Angry

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2012 10:04

I've just polished our bedroom but have left DP's bedside table as it has on it:

1 x empty biscuit packet
1 x half empty biscuit packet
1 x empty sweet packet
1 x empty yoghurt pot with spoon
1 x empty coffee mug
1 x half empty glass

Angry

The discussion about BF in public has just reminded me. We were at a little fete type thing at the weekend and sat on some grass while drinking coffee and eating cake I saw a lady breast feeding a rather large child and then a Dad came along pushing his DD in a buggy, obviously to induce a little sleep. since he was sort of wandering back and forth the BF mummy got up and had a chat with him... it was kind of odd. I am sure they didn't know each other but she had this almost toddler fixed to her boob chatting away with this guy for about 15minutes.

I'm not sure I'll be that relaxed, possibly I'll manage in public under a discreet shawl or muslin, but I reckon at the IL's I'll go off to another room Hmm

itsMYNutella · 18/07/2012 10:09

ellie enjoy hearing the bubba at your appointment! I didn't hear the heartbeat, they did a scan instead... Hmm I'd like to hear it though...

Spotty your DP should move in with mine :o sounds like they'd be happy as pigs in sh*te.

Although German guys are quite domesticated and at home they usually sit to pee :o

WeeJo08 · 18/07/2012 10:11

DH and I went to a couples massage treatment last night and it was heavenly. I couldn't have the full massage as they didn't want to risk anything, so it was neck, shoulders and head plus a facial, but it was divine. My skin feels really nice today. Got home after it and DH then cooked us dinner and said I could go and relax and have a nice shower (to get the oil off) which was just lovely. Unfortunately whilst I was in the shower I saw what I think are a few stretchmarks on my boobs. My first ever. Sad So naturally I slathered my top half in some Dove build up tan...if you can't tone it - tan it! Grin

Nutella I think I'll only be able to feed infront of dp Blush maybe once I master doing it completely discretely I'll manage in front of other people. Also dp has three brothers and I can see them all now too scared to look anywhere near me!
