Hi everyone!

I think I did this correctly! Eeeek! Probably not Blush I think we still have a few messages to go on the old one, so it's here for when we're ready :)

Yay for heartbeats! Grin

Kate I have an anterior placenta too, does it have to move before delivery or is only if it's low down that it's a problem?

ISpyPlumPie · 18/07/2012 14:54

Spotty -afaik, plancental position is only a problem if it's low down. I've had an anterior placenta both times. Didn't cause any issues at all with DS, and they said it was fine when I had the scan this time.

minipie · 18/07/2012 15:04

I think I might have an anterior placenta too (seem to remember seeing this in my maternity notes). Apparently it means you are later to feel movements. But not a problem for birth, it's only a low placenta that's a problem for that.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2012 15:20

Ah thought so. Doesn't help me with trying to find the heartbeat Hmm

SeymoreInOz · 18/07/2012 15:22

spotty what Ispy said, anterior is fine, it's only low placentas you need to keep an eye on. Mine is anterior too which is why I'm not feeling much. It was anterior and high last time around so I felt a lot more!

I'm having really bad heartburn all day long. I had to get up twice last night for gaviscon and it didn't really help. I had this last time but only right at the end. I'm going to be in a state by December!

mwahmwah · 18/07/2012 15:24

Fast moving thread or what?! Lovely news on heartbeats and flavours,

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2012 15:24

Seymore in the UK if the Gaviscon isn't cutting it the dr prescribe omeprazole or similar don't know if your dr will do the same?

brooke89 · 18/07/2012 17:01

Good news with all the heartbeats Smile I have my 20 week scan tomorrow - does anyone else? Really nervous...

My boobs are huge now, I've gone from a 32a to a 34dd in 3 weeks and my belly has popped out so I look like a proper pregnant person! Can't believe how many people look at your belly when you walk past when pregnant!

brooke89 · 18/07/2012 17:03

Ps bio oil is cheap in tx max Grin

littlemissbroody26 · 18/07/2012 17:26

good luck tomorrow brooke :)

I was really torn as to if we should find out the sex but i must say for me it has made it feel much more real.. it's not like im of out buying baby blue (i really want to keep the clothing gender unspecific) but in a way it has made me feel more bonded with him.

lots of kicks today when there was a thunder storm outside.. its making me consider the name tor (god of thunder)

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2012 17:43

Good luck Brooke Envy at your boobs!

knottyhair · 18/07/2012 17:49

Just popping on - sorry no time to catch up properly but manic day packing! Just to say I'm off on holiday until 6th August. Good luck with any scans/appts before then - and I look forward to a marathon catch up when I get back! Take care everyone xx

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2012 17:50

Oh knotty that's a long holiday, lucky you! It will nearly be our scan when you get back! Have a lovely holiday Smile

ivanapoo · 18/07/2012 18:16

Brooke my 20 week scan is tomorrow too - actually at bang on 19 weeks though according to previous dating.

Hope yours goes well. Mine's at 2pm but before that I have an 180 mile round trip for a meeting, fun and games eh! Also my boobs are ridiculous, someone at work asked me if I'd had a boob job today! (I haven't "come out" yet)

Anyone else reckon they've become an expert at spotting other pregnant ladies trying to hide it? I'm convinced someone at work is as she's been wearing slightly baggier clothes and her boobs look bigger, plus today she sort of went to touch her tummy then quickly stopped herself... All things i find myself doing. Desperate to ask her but can't, obviously!

Have a lovely holiday knotty

brooke89 · 18/07/2012 18:32

Have a lovely holiday knotty!

Thank you for the good licks! Ivana - I'm 19 weeks exactly tomorrow too! And mines not till 4 Sad good luck with everything in the morning and your scan!

brooke89 · 18/07/2012 18:33

Hahaha good lucks actually laughing... Damn iphone!

kate2boysandabump · 18/07/2012 18:42

Brooke Grin

Knotty have a lovely holiday, not Envy at all.

Seymore poor you, I ate gaviscon like sweets with ds2.

Had a good chat with the midwife about placentas. Mine have both been posterior before, but they can't attach in the same place twice because of scar tissue, so you get more variety of position the more you have. She also said she had a lady who on her 12th Shock had a low lying placenta that moved before delivery. So if anyone has a low lying placenta there's still hope. She also said the placenta acts like a mattress, so hides movement and I've only really felt movement on one side, maybe that's why.

Stacks · 18/07/2012 19:16

I was reading about placenta positions this morning funnily enough. The position its in just now doesn't matter much, as as your uterus stretches and grows the placenta can 'move'. It doesn't actually get up and walk ofc, but the uterine wall above/below/beside it can stretch out such that a low lying placenta gets higher, or an anterior one becomes more too/side.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 18/07/2012 19:25

brooke and ivana my scan is tomorrow too, 3.50! I'm not worried as they had a quick check when I had the gender scan just really looking forward to it. Dh has another interview and so i'm taking my mum which will be lovely.

I wore my tight- ish Isabella Oliver dress for the first time today and now look obviously pregnant which I'm pleased about :) also bought a dream-genii and some st tropez face tan so by tomorrow I should be well rested and glowing!!

HoneyMum21 · 18/07/2012 19:43

Hehehe. I think our son just picked his own name. DH had his hand on my bump and said hello and said one name we were thinking of and we got nothing. So he said the other name we're thinking of and he got a kick. We thought it was a fluke so tried it again and the same thing happened!

Clarella · 18/07/2012 20:06

Checking in! Up to page 7.....

I'm worrying about Ds. He had an appointment with a paed yesterday due to not walking/ talking tho he's nearly 2. I was so blaze expecting the doc to say there was nothing to worry about so I was dumbstruck when she said she'll book a hearing test and bloods to check for chromosome abnormalities. I am gutted. At most I thought he'd maybe need physio to help with his walking, hadn't even considered something more sinister. Suppose I assumed that chromosome things would be noticed loads earlier or actually pre-birth. Naïve I suppose. I'm just praying for good news that in fact he's just a lazy wee monster and this is all just dotting I's and crossing t's. Poor wee bubba isn't even getting a thought just now, but glad to report he/she is moving about like mad and 20 wk scan is on 10th Aug when we'll be 20+2. Sorry for the ramble Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 18/07/2012 20:15

Oh mwah it's good that they're looking into it. Dd is being tested on Monday for the genetic disease that I have so I kind of know what you're going through. Try not to worry until you know what, of anything, it is. Was he a late crawler or anything? I know a few two year olds who barely talk.

Bubbless · 18/07/2012 20:16

spotty / kate- my dp is just as bad, except he doesnt have a bed side table..its all just down the side of the bed on the floor... i dont go there, i feel i would catch some kind of disease..

and the wee thing is stupid, she tested my few drops of wee and said ive got a UTI, then didnt give me anything for it Hmm
