Hi everyone!

I think I did this correctly! Eeeek! Probably not Blush I think we still have a few messages to go on the old one, so it's here for when we're ready :)

gils I ordered my pram yesterday.. Feels so good! Put a lot more effort in choosing it than I have for any of my cars ! Ha.

bella give yourself some TLC, I know how it feels to be having a bit of a downer, I've got myself a chinese and some Ben N Jerry's for tonight as DP is out. Might even induldge in a bit of online shopping..
Deffo invest in a pillow, i've got the long Mothercare one too, thought I could bend it for help wirth B-feeding as well, and it does help me get comfy (although I tend to take over most of the bed and DP gives up eventually and retreats to the sofa i try to pretend I'm sorry when really i'm not !! Wink

congratulations weejo another for the pink team yey. Sounds like a lovely scan. I had the same lady too, I've had her for scans when I was having my cyst kept an eye on as well- I do like her!
Has anyone else looked at their measurements and worried a little- it looks like my bubba has a really small head?!

Bump has disappeared today which is a bit sad, had so so many kicks throughout the Olympic Ceremony last night, was really nice.

SpottyTeacakes · 28/07/2012 20:02

Cookies I haven't had my scan yet but u remember dd's legs measured really short! They weren't when she was born though Grin

Her head was off the chart when she was born though so if I were you I'd keep hoping that head stays small Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 28/07/2012 20:03

Oh and which pram did you to for?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 28/07/2012 20:15

I love hearing about all your pram buying it seems like ages ago that we bought ours!!

I've had a really productive day today I've been decorating ds's new bedroom unfortunately it means tomorrow I need to sort ds's old room, dismantle his bed and move it all to the new one. I'm bored of it all now tbh, I'm so knackered!

Cookiesandcream06 · 28/07/2012 20:20

Ha thanks spotty I know i'm being silly, I would vote for a smaller head if anything ha, just funny as DD always had a really big head (and still does!) I was just a bit Shock

I was uming and rring in the shop for an eternity (sales assistants must have lovedddd me) but went for a Mutsy Evo in the end, was such good value for money and MiL bought us the car seat and the base as well as I had saved her £200 as her vote was for the Vista! Was a lovely surprise and literally feel like I don't really have anything much to buy now!? They're keeping it there for us until we need it thank goodness.

SpottyTeacakes · 28/07/2012 20:22

I'm still going for the Evo I think, I agree it's such good value even when I see others I like I just think 'hmm it's £xxx more though'

ivanapoo · 28/07/2012 20:25

Cookies mine has a low percentile head but average femur etc, which is weird as both DH and I have freakishly large heads. They actually thought something might be wrong with DH, so massively out of proportion was his bonce!

I'm sure if it was a problem they would have mentioned something so don't worry about it.

We are hoping for hand me downs from family so no pram, cot, car seat etc buying here. Only thing I've bought are a pack of three tiny babygrows and some muslins in gender-neutral white for a whopping total of £8 at ASDA. For now, a friend has kindly given me a dream genie but most nights I end up chucking it out of bed

Is anyone here planning to do reusable nappies? I'm so confused by all the various systems and everyone I know seems to do disposables so not sure what's actually any good. I need more tree hugger friends.

A message for whoever recommended the flippy jersey dress from Topshop - possibly Clarella I think? - thank you! I wore it for the first time to work with some heels and a chunky necklace and got lots of compliments . So easy to chuck on too. I know I'll wear it loads, SO definitely worth the £20!

EggsMichelle · 28/07/2012 20:28

My measurements are all spot on the average line, doesn't even look like anyone filled the chart in!

Had a very packed day, starting with my mother calling me fat cause iv gained 10lbs (she's a midwife, glad she's not my midwife!) then calling us both lazy cause our house is dirty and our garden is a mess! Luckily this was in the first 20mins of her arrival and she was nice after!

Got the garden secured with a new gate and repaired and painted the fence panels, put up a little partition fence to keep the dog off the lawn and a loose brick has been remortered. Grin

Think I might have eaten something questionable off the BBQ, one trip to the toilet and hoping that's it.

CODwidow · 28/07/2012 21:47

Who else was it that has gone for the bee plus?? I'm having a panic I've made the wrong pram choice Sad

itsMYNutella · 29/07/2012 11:59

Eggs hope the BBQ effect is short lived!!

Cod since none of the brands which are really popular in England seemed be available here I'm going for an Emmaljunga nitro city, they look awesome :o also seem to be a few available on EBay :)

How is everyone? Hope you've been having a wonderful weekend! I've not felt much movement lately but guess I've been really busy and it is still early.... 20 week scan on Aug 6th.

HoneyMum21 · 29/07/2012 12:58

We're going for the iCandy Strawberry (providing they get their distribution sorted and we can get it in time). It's quite expensive but ticks all the boxes. Luckily my mum is going to help us out with it.

Nutella not long to wait now for your scan :) are you excited?
Also.we were at a food fair yesterday and discovered Nutella chocolate brownies. Am researching recipes as we speak... :)

JoJoB77 · 29/07/2012 13:07

Afternoon Smile

Hope all you lovely ladies are well and enjoying Sunday Smile

All ok here. Baby is making some movement in there but nothing too obvious yet. I can't wait until 20 week scan on Frisay to see him/her again. It's the hospitals policy not to disclose the sex but we don't want to find out so it's a good job really!

I'm feeling bigger today & a sort of heavy feeling at bottom of bump. Trying not to complain too much tho as its not going to get smaller!

Re prams. We're going for the iCandy peach as i will need the double for a while although DD is now 15 months and wants to walk all the time so im not sure how long we will need it. My parents are adamant that they want to buy it new for us but i'm currently on the lookout for a decent one on eBay. Luckily it turns into a single (the Apple) so it will get some good use.

JoJoB77 · 29/07/2012 13:10

Sorry we are going for the iCandy Pear, not peach Blush too many fruits, its confusing Grin

Barbeasty · 29/07/2012 17:32

We're going looking at pushchairs on Wednesday but it will probably be the Pear, since we already have an Apple so it's cheapest to just convert it. But we'll look at a few others.

I'm shattered, but have had a lovely day. We went to the beach this morning, and had windy picnic, then when we got home SIL made scones and we had a cream tea in the garden.

All done before the thunder came. Hopefully it will stop raining so we can walk to the Italian for dinner.

Does anyone fairly local know anywhere nice to eat either in Portsmouth or between there and Bournemouth? DH wants to go to the Victory etc tomorrow.

pmgkt · 29/07/2012 18:04

The lone barn and fox and hounds, at burseldon is a nice pub, it is all one pub even though the 2 parts are sepetately named, the moved an old barn from somewhere else and attached it. It is a pub but lovely food not a big chain Or are you looking for something posh

Willyoudothefandango · 29/07/2012 19:28

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well. I can't believe how organised you all are. I bought 2 babygros on Friday and have thought no further than that! I think I'll need to take a trip over to the clever ladies in prams as I am utterly clueless! Any recommendations for a short, small car driver would be very welcome!

Having a lovely chilled Olympics day today (involves laying around eating maltesers) but having zumbaed this morning, I feel like I've earned it.

Thanks very much elliebellie I noticed you updated my stats to a boy for me (still not sunk in Grin )

SpottyTeacakes · 29/07/2012 19:31

fandango what's your criteria and budget? I'm not as knowledgeable as the ladies in pushchairs but could give you a start Smile

Willyoudothefandango · 29/07/2012 19:35

Our budget isn't fixed as we won't really have to buy much so money isn't tight. DP has a 2 year old nephew so getting a lot of his stuff.

I need an adjustable height (1 foot difference between me n DP), needs to fit in a fiesta, I drive a lot an wont need to do much off roaring with the pram.

Other than that I have no idea! What else do you need to know? (see clueless)

Willyoudothefandango · 29/07/2012 19:36

Ps thanks for your help spotty

SpottyTeacakes · 29/07/2012 19:43

Sounds like you need one with adjustable handle. The iCandy peach and strawberry do I think, the cherry doesn't.

Other things to consider are do you want one with a carry cot? (iCandy does)
Do you want it to parent face?
Compatible with a specific car seat? (most will fit maxi cosi or have their own car seat)

Willyoudothefandango · 29/07/2012 19:50

Oh god, this is why I find the pram thing scary!

Carry cot - I would say yes but I don't know why Confused is there a reason why you would/wouldn't?

Definite yes to parent facing and adjustable handle.

We don't have a specific car seat in mind and would probably just go with whatever was compatible with pram/car. my fiesta has isofix so I think we'll invest in a base.

How does one learn all this stuff? Trial and error?

SpottyTeacakes · 29/07/2012 19:57

Yes, lots of looking around and asking other people! The last thing you want is pram envy Wink

Well the seats on iCandy and Bugaboo (others too) aren't suitable until a few months old as they don't lay down flat so the carry cot is great.

I think if you have £££ then iCandy is great but definitely start a thread in the pushchair section as they will throw loads of good ones at you!

I'm going for the Mutsy Evo (doesn't have adjustable handle) But also really likes the Uppababy Vista (which does).

Willyoudothefandango · 29/07/2012 20:05

Wow thanks for your help spotty I am approaching it like I approach car shopping - which is prettiest and comes in the nicest colour Grin think I need to be a little more sensible!

I shall make my way over there in a couple of weeks I think. Have to space the exciting shopping out as there's still a long way to go yet.

Do most prams have lead times? I've heard people talking about that before.

SpottyTeacakes · 29/07/2012 20:08

Umm new ones do. I think iCandy is the worst for not coming in on time! I can't wait to buy mine but know I have to wait a bit too. It's the only thing we really need this time along with new moses basket, playmat and feeding accessories which can all be bought nearer the time!

Willyoudothefandango · 29/07/2012 20:18

Hard to reign yourself in and make yourself wait though isn't it? Ooh actually getting quite excited now! Lots of lovely baby things to buy, might look on the previous threads and make myself a lovely list!
