Hi everyone!

I think I did this correctly! Eeeek! Probably not Blush I think we still have a few messages to go on the old one, so it's here for when we're ready :)

nutella i'm a self employed seamstress, mostly do alterations but i've recently been doing upholstery loose covers and a ghastly wedding dress. It's a nice lifestyle, working from home to my own hours but it's quite lonely and i'm fed up with being hunched over a machine all day long so it'll be great to stop.

baby brain is really starting to impact now, let boiled eggs for dinner boil dry and burst, sewed the dress lining on backwards and earlier in the week travelled hours across the country to work without vital machine parts. Think it's time to start taking it easier.

HoneyMum21 · 27/07/2012 18:20

Aww, Bella - unmumsnetty hugs. Have a cup of tea and a large piece of something involving chocolate I was feeling similar after my scan, such a relief after all the worry.

Congrats and welcome to team blue Willyoudothefandango - it's fun knowing it's a little boy in there once you get past the realisation there's gonna be lots of pee in your face

honeytea · 27/07/2012 19:15

congratulations on all the scans!

I am so impressed with the things people are doing these days, i had to have a nap after going to work for 3 hours this afternoon nevermind climbing a mountain!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 27/07/2012 19:15

Our scan went ok, little tadpole would not play ball and let the nice lady check on his/her heart do I had to go for a walk to try and get him/her to move. We resisted the urge to find out the sex so we're def in team yellow! Baby is all fine, measuring right for dates, still hated the camera and turned its back a lot so we don't have great pics but tadpole did its usual of kicking the scanner wand telling the Sonographer to fuck off and stop poking them and not sitting still for a minute!! Currently we're breech but there's still plenty of room and time for that to change!

Was slightly pissed off to see on my scan report the phrase 'restricted by adiposity which basically is saying I'm fat, now I'm not the skinniest but I'm only a size 12!! So wasn't very happy with that!

Glad others scans went well!

I have awful heartburn now, I hate heartburn!

Bellaboo123 · 27/07/2012 19:18

Ah thank you all for your kind words...just got in and am going to treat myself to a nice hot bath and early night...rock and roll! Lol!

Glad scans went well...boys are winning for sure!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/07/2012 19:25

I feel for you on the heartburn Stacey! I keep getting a pain in my chest but through my back just by my left shoulder blade, it's quite sharp, do you think that could be some kind of heartburn/indigestion type thing?

Can't believe how many boys there are, I'm convinced mine's a boy!

cherrypiew3 · 27/07/2012 19:35

Glad that all the scans went well and the boys must be winning. 3 more sleeps until I find out if I will be blue team or pink.

Clarella Have fun camping hope the weather stays dry for you.

Purple have a good time in Latvia.

Bella Hope your feeling better I think been pregnant makes you very weepy for no reason.

Hope everyone is feeling ok.

ellliebelle · 27/07/2012 19:37

Hi everyone i havent been around for what feels like forever with the amount you lot chat :) not a lot going on here ive used doppler a few timea and found heartbeat :) still no movements though very anxious about scan which is still over a week away. Congrats to all thoughs who have had good scans seems to be a lot of blue babies out there now

WeeJo08 · 27/07/2012 19:44

Evenin' all! I'm a happy bunny tonight! Scan went brilliantly Grin Shnarf was very active and the sonographer was so lovely (same lady as for our 12 week scan) and went through everything as she went along so she showed us everything as she did it and explained each little part. Seeing the spine was amazing! You could see every vertebrae! All measurements and organs looking good and dates spot on. We also found out....it looks like we are expecting a baby girl! So one for Team Pink Grin

Exciting WeeJo!! Grin

HoneyMum21 · 27/07/2012 19:56

Congrats weejo

Bellaboo123 · 27/07/2012 20:11

Congrats weejo welcome to team pink!

Agree seeing spine was so cool - DP said she looked like predator at that point - charming!!!

Think I've got heartburn too now you mention it - urgh don't you just love it!

itsMYNutella · 27/07/2012 20:22

Weejo congratulations! That sounds like a great scan experience :)

Bella enjoy your early night! I've lived for years without a bath at home but for some reason being pregnant really makes me want a bath... Will have to spend more time swimming:o hope bean loves swimming as much as I do!

Today it just seemed to get hotter and hotter, now there is a massive thunderstorm and lots of rain....actually a relief to have some cold air from the rain! Hope everyone else is having a nice evening!

EggsMichelle · 28/07/2012 07:34

Congratulations weejo. Don't worry about your emotions bella you are allowed to feel like that in pregnancy, it's a very intense and powerful thing we are all going through, it's so lovely to know there is this group to turn to when I'm feeling anxious or uncomfortable.

Had the DIY team over yesterday (my dad!) and had an epic out doors work-athon. Dad replaced some of our soffits and painted the rest whilst DH and I creosoted (sp) the fence, hung a new garden gate and trimmed the hedges. Today my Mum and Grandma are coming, we are putting up a new partition fence (to keep dog off the lawn) and finish the fence painting (Grandma will be put in a garden chair and told to stay put!). If weather stays good it will be a BBQ!

I think all the activity yesterday exhausted Shrimpy, just a few wriggles in the evening, and no kick boxing practice!!!

Bellaboo123 · 28/07/2012 08:22

Morning all feeling a bit better today - a good night sleep has helped! I'm off to buy a maternity pillow today and wondered which one is reasonably priced and recommended...sorry I know this was mentioned a while ago but I've forgot! Ideally one that can be used for bf afterwards.
Also I want to buy the cotbed mattress this month...any suggestions? Sprung/foam etc..it's a mine field!!!
Thanks in advance x

SpottyTeacakes · 28/07/2012 08:24

Bella I just got a mid priced one Blush Grin I have no idea about mattresses!

I have a V cushion which is good but if you can afford it the really long ones are meant to be good and can be folded into a bfing support pillow too I think.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 28/07/2012 08:30

I've got the body support long one was £30 from mothercare and I can fold it into a v pillow (although been given one of those too) it really helps on nights I can't get comfy!

Glad you're feeling a bit better bella!

Queenofsiburbia · 28/07/2012 08:41

CONGRATS on scans! pleased I'm not the only one with a green/ yellow flavour wriggler but i do totally get why lots of people have found out as I'm now starting to waver about my decision to have a surprise!

I'm awake despite watching ceremony til the very end. Worth it though , blimey!!!!!! Still feel abit blown away!

I am also abit surprised I managed that hill walk mountain climb! I went for a very much smaller, English scale walk yesterday & it half killed me!
I put my success down to eating far too much good food, the clear Scottish air and peer pressure

My nips are also bigger and browner! Hoping I don't get any leakage just yet!!

I'm do sorry you have been feeling down Bella. I was before hols and it does make everything seem so bleak but I promise you the hormones will shift and soon you'll feel on top of the world. Someone told me that the effects of menstrual cycle can still be felt which possibly explains my headaches and perhaps PMT (although I NEVER admit to pmt to DH Grin )

I always try to get outside somewhere green if at all possible and especially if sunny Oh, and eat my body weight in galaxy caramel

FriendofDorothy · 28/07/2012 09:23

I have a Dream Genii pillow and find it makes me much more comfortable.

HoneyMum21 · 28/07/2012 09:50

Quick question which im sure was discussed before at some point but just want to check - caneston is safe to use in pregnancy isn't it?

ISpyJumpHigh · 28/07/2012 10:25

I used caneston last time - at about 15 weeks iirc. The dr said it would be fine, but the pharmasist did say I shouldn't use the applicator. You have my sympathy - it is the only time I've ever had thrush and it drove me demented!

Hope everyone else is ok. Congrats on all the lovely scan news - sorry I've been a bit rubbish at catching up individually.

Know what you mean about starting to waver Queen - so far we are having a surprise, but have to go back for another scan at 23 weeks (awkward baby not behaving first time Grin) and really starting to think I might find out. Don't think it's helped that I was starting to be convinced it was one flavour, but DH thinks he saw something last time that would suggest otherwise! Don't have any preference as to which we get, but really confused now. Finding out would also cut down the endless name discussions by half.

HoneyMum21 · 28/07/2012 12:11

Thanks ispy - thought that was the case but just wanted to check!

gilsbubbles · 28/07/2012 15:36

Just spent the morning test driving, is it wrong that I'm more excited about having picked a pram than the new family car we just bought ?

Mummycox · 28/07/2012 15:54

Congratulations on the scans ladies. So pleased for you all.

Tried to walk into town today, got 50m up the road and pain set in so all my good intentions have failed for the day. I retired to the sofa and have just woken up. DH with me so don't feel that bad!

5 weeks till baby moon... Soo excited

Barbeasty · 28/07/2012 18:13

Bella last time we were told that the sprung mattresses last longer, so if you have a cot bed and are planning to use it for 4 or 5 years then it's worth paying the extra. Otherwise you may end up having to by a replacement foam one at some point.
