Hi everyone!

I think I did this correctly! Eeeek! Probably not Blush I think we still have a few messages to go on the old one, so it's here for when we're ready :)

Seymore we have been dog sitting a friends toy poodle while she is in holiday. Lovely little dog, trained, slightly older so not as bouncy as a puppy and definitely great company. I'd also love a puppy but with everything else going on the dog sitting has definitely made me realise we can wait for a puppy!
And huge unmMmsnetty hugs to you for looking after poorly kids while DH is away!!Grin

EggsMichelle · 27/07/2012 07:06

I am desperate for a second dog (would only get another boxer) but puppies are such hard work and we have only had our boy trained well for the last year, I just couldn't go through the chaos again. We have instead decided to wait until Shrimpy is two and buy him the dog to grow up with, which would make our current dog a calm 7yr old (boxers are puppies until they are about 6yrs anyway!).

Got my dad coming over today for a long weekend to do lots of little jobs on the house. Got the eves and soffits to paint, and a fence to put up. Then tomorrow my mum is going to help paint Shrimpy's room. Still not decided on the colour, torn between a turquoisey blue and mushroom.

SeymoreInOz · 27/07/2012 07:31

Thanks nutella! I'm with you on the nipples, I noticed it this morning. I've also spotted some colostrum in my bra so I need to get pads now. It's annoying because they really make me itch!

Clarella we're here for another 18 months to 2 years from now. The option is there to move out here permanently, and it is lovely, but it's too far from family and the DC are really missing out on time with grandparents and cousins.

Hmm eggs that's a tough choice, I'd go with blue, just because the entire interior our rented house is painted mushroom!

Bellaboo123 · 27/07/2012 07:40

Morning all,

It's scan day - yay! Appointment at 1020 - I'm sure I remember there being a few of us with scans today...Grin. Nervous but excited to see my little lady!

seymour I'm with you on the nipples in the last few days mine have become massive!!!

Great about all the other scan news and glad everyone seems to be feeling better!

Queenofsiburbia · 27/07/2012 07:57

Bella, have a great scan! So funny to see someone in your tummy (nope still not over the novelty yet!)

Clarella, thanks for asking about hols. Had a lovely time in Scotland with decent weather (DH would have liked more rain for fishing Confused ) lots of midges but repellant helped.

Feeling proud as climbed a 2000' hill mountain although did have quite a few 'view' stops!

Dog would quite happily renounce English heritage and become a fully fledged SNP supporter. I could have done without the damn ticks thodespite bloody expensive tick/flea drops from vets!!

Sorry if u already said but where are you off camping?

Seymore, what a nightmare having to cope with all of that in your own. I hope it's abit better now.

Nutella, I realised when I was away why my nutella craving had disappeared Grin it's back again now! Mmmmmmmmm

My advice for maternity clothes is New Look online as they have a much bigger range than most. I bought a cotton mat top & it's very good quality Shock

Willyoudothefandango · 27/07/2012 07:58

Hi everyone, it's been ages since I wrote on here. I struggle to keep up with you all.

Scan day for me too, but a bit later at 2pm. Good luck Bella

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 27/07/2012 08:04

Hi all not had much chance to catch up with being back at work but glad to see lots of good scans!

Amazed at some taking nearly an hour, I don't remember them taking that long with my other dcs.

My scan is at 3.30 today and we're taking mil with us, as it's her first grandchild I thought she'd really enjoy it! And she might even buy us dinner after!! Lol

Good luck to others with scans today, I best put some clothes on and start work really!

Willyoudothefandango · 27/07/2012 08:07

Ooh good luck to you too Stacey

I am both excited and terrified at the same time. May have something to do with me waking up at 6:30 this morning, I normally have to drag myself up for work at 7:45

SpottyTeacakes · 27/07/2012 08:12

Good luck for your scans everyone!

Glad it's cooled down a bit.

Have fun camping Clarella I've never been to Scotland Queen congratulations on tackling a mountain Grin

PurplePidjin · 27/07/2012 08:28

Good luck for all the scans, afaik they take as long as they need so if baby is behaving, you're in and out quick. If baby isn't behaving, you get a longer scan but longer to worry. So i don't know which is better tbh Confused

I'm off to Latvia tomorrow for a week. Bet we're on a new thread by the time i get home :o

HoneyMum21 · 27/07/2012 08:45

good luck on today's scans everyone :)

gilsbubbles · 27/07/2012 09:09

I registered my plans for maternity leave with work yesterday. This morning I'm having a mini freak out cause I've just counted that I only have 16 more weeks to work. Think it's mostly cause I font know many people outside work yet so I'm signing up for NCT classes. We could use the money elsewhere but I'm counting mummys sanity as a worthwhile investment.

WeeJo08 · 27/07/2012 09:54

Scan day for me too. Really anxious. Scan isn't until 2:30. Can't really concentrate on anything!

Hope all goes well for scan buddies too, Bellaboo, Stacey and Willyoudo I think there might be others too but can't remember.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/07/2012 11:19

Have fun pidj! [smile

Where's Bubless?

Clarella · 27/07/2012 11:29

Queen well done you, impressed when we are apparently climbing hills when sitting still ad it is! Love Scotland, lucky at the mo as my parents live in stirling, easy access to lots of places! Hate ticks.

Eggs prob wise on new puppy plan.but still...! I like mushroom but that's me - we seem to have an inability to paint walls anything other than white or grey.

Seymore, a tough one, its not like visits are easy to do! I'd want to be near family, we are spread all over country and its hard enough.

Hope all goes well with scans - ask.lots of questions, mine were happy to show stuff once the technical stuff out of way.

Latvia sounds idyllic purple, enjoy!

MyDaydream · 27/07/2012 12:05

Queen sounds like you had a great time, I keep trying to convince DP we should have a long weekend in the middle of nowhere in Scotland.
purple have fun in Latvia!
gils very jealous you've registered maternity leave, I want to start in October and book a day a week off throughout September.
Good luck for everyone who has scans today, there's been so many this week.

I've gone missing from work this, GP signed me off last week and I did let them know but I've not gone along with their rule of calling them and leaving a message them someone calling back. I'm going to call today after I've seen my GP, but I just can't bear calling into work saying "yeah, still signed off work" what's the point when I told them last week I was?

PrunellaDeVille · 27/07/2012 12:48

enjoy all the scans.

eggs i'd go for blue but then we've just done that so it's an obvious choice for me - it does raise eyebrows from others - we're in team yellow but people are reading into the colour of the room that we actually know.

nutella and others - absolutely on the nipples, suddenly they're like saucers.
seymore Shock colostrum already, that seems like a huge step forward

as a self employed person i can be really flexible on maternity leave, DH has said he'd prefer to support me taking it easy than carry on working Grin so as of next week i'll be turning away all but a tiny handful of favourite clients (and ongoing running the admin side of DH's business so it's not all feet up). Absent from here last week doing my last huge job - onsite down in Cornwall, now just one more wedding dress to make and i'm done! Feels awesome seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and planning projects of my own.

Scan went really well and we were able to get all measurements - very well behaved!!!
Good luck all my scan twins...we took my mum too which was lovely for her.

Don't know why but I'm feeling really low today as keep crying...nothing to upset me just think I'm over tired from work and the build up to the scan Sad

Hey Ho at least it's Friday x

minipie · 27/07/2012 16:22

Nipples! yes me too. I had to change bra this morning as I realised any see through ones now are indecent - even under a top! They have got a lot darker. seymore I have also had a tiny leak but only from one side (hopefully the other one works too)! Apparently it's fairly normal to start getting it about now.

Getting quite nervous about my scan on wednesday. Keep finding myself saying "please please let her be ok". On the plus side I think I am starting to feel movements, little twitches and flutters here and there Smile.

Hope all the scans today went well!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/07/2012 16:31

Aww hope you're feeling better Bella you need a cup of tea and a hug Smile hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow

itsMYNutella · 27/07/2012 16:36

So glad it's not just me with suddenly massive nipples :o!! I noticed them this morning in the mirror after showering and DP told me they are a little more pink too... Who knew I would have so much to say about nipples to a bunch of perfect strangers Wink

Prunella you mentioned making a wedding dress... I'm so curious what is your job? Just wedding dresses or general seamstress mastery?

Bella awwww don't be down its the weekend! :o you too can have an unMmsnetty hug perhaps it's the relief of the scan being done? Anyway, you can always come here tell us what's up and we will do our best to make you smile again :o

Mini you made me chuckle, I'm sure they both work Grin imagine if only one grew and worked... How odd would that be.... Anyway, this post is massive enough!

MyDaydream · 27/07/2012 16:48

My mum told me when she was bfing me that in the morning the boob she always used for first feed would be fuller than the other.
GP has signed me off for another two weeks but couldn't fit me in for my next appointment until 31/8, so will have to see if he'll sign me back to work after 2 weeks over the phone, just can't afford to be off so long since I don't get sick pay. I feel really guilty about it now like I'm faking because I feel fine until I have to deal with something work wise then I get all panicked again. I feel like I've barely been in work since I started, and I'm putting more pressure on DP for no reason because he doesn't see the weeping stressed me because when I'm at work we get an hour together in the evening and I try and hide it from him to make the most of that small amount of time.

Willyoudothefandango · 27/07/2012 17:36

Hi all, scan went fine everything is okay and we found out that we're having a boy! Smile

We are really shocked, I didn't realise but both of us must have been expecting a girl! Still can't believe it!

Good luck to those still to come

Bubbless · 27/07/2012 17:45

spotty- WAVES!!!

I dont know if anyone remembers but i was at the holiday childrens thing this week, so ive been doing 14 hour days since monday.. and alas didnt have the time or the inclination to do anything other than sleep when i got home!!
